I remember thinking like, okay, we'll get married, we'll break up or we'll not get married, but we'll stay together. And all of those at the time felt like potential next steps for us. But yeah, marriage was definitely on the table for sure for me.
Watching it back, that hole in the kitchen where you're kind of cooking, preparing for the friends and this kind of all explodes, watching it back, did you have any like regrets of what you wish you would have said or wouldn't have said?
Honestly, no, because I think looking back, like I tried to explain things in so many different ways and tried to really understand his perspective and then like speak to that. Yeah. I think at that point there was nothing I could have said or done differently to have Dave see it.
I will say, I feel like the fact that he couldn't, you being so vulnerable and saying like, I'm feeling really disconnected from you. Can you please stay here tonight? And him saying no, I think was the biggest sign of like, this man should not be your husband.
Yeah. And that has been pretty jarring to watch back. And it happens too when he meets my friends and I get emotional and there's not a lot of comfort happening. And I felt that in the moment. And it's really sad to watch it back and feel that again.
It's interesting because I completely agree with Natalie with that statement. But if I'm still trying to empathize with this whole situation. Like, I think two things can be true at the same time. Like I can understand Dave having a hard time processing this rumor. Cause that's what it is.
You know, rumor, you know, which has like maybe some truth to it, but obviously it's, it's, it's coming from someone who obviously is, has an alternative agenda and things like that. But to Nally's point, regardless of what the truth is, Dave is,
demonstrated you know basically an inability to cope while struggling with his own emotions and needing to be there for his partner who's also struggling and he was basically saying i need to be alone so that i can figure this out and regardless of what you're going through like that not my problem because my problem is your you you know it's like my needs come first sorry yeah correct yeah and
Yeah, for sure. And I remember thinking too, like your friends are giving you this whole different narrative. And every time you talk to them, you get like more angry at me or more confused about the situation. So if you and I are supposed to be a team, why are we continuing to go back to those people and have the same conversations that are not productive at all?
