Joining us now is Scott. Scott, how are we doing? And thank you for being a member.
Hey, Charlie. Thank you. Got great respect for you and Turning Point. And just, it's really changing. everything about the party and MAGA. And there's a lot of work that needs to be done in Idaho. So I just say that, you know, the lives of my youngest daughter and son will never be the same. You can hear the emotion in my voice a little bit after the tyrannical COVID lockdowns.
And this means that I will do whatever it takes to ensure our red state Republican senators in Idaho confirm President Trump's cabinet nominees. We have to hold those accountable for the suffering, and we have to stop them from sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine. So I really would like to know What is your strategy for Idaho?
You know, when are you coming to Idaho and how can I help?
Well, first of all, I just love that. I love Idaho. And I want to say, number one, Rish is up in this cycle. And so let me just ask you as an Idahoan, what do you think of Rish? Does he work the state a lot? Is he well-liked? Is it somebody that you think is really in touch with the people of Idaho? Tell me, just as an Idahoan.
So I've met him personally in some of the government affairs work I've done. And just by saying this in Idaho, I'm now on a blacklist because nobody wants to go up against these red state rhinos who've been in the Senate so long. He is arrogant. He is out of touch. You go in for a meeting with him in his office. He doesn't really ask you for anything.
He takes you to an adjoining office with a background of a Capitol photo. And he says, oh, here, we'll take a photo. He shakes your hand and then he leaves. And I really believe that with your support, we could primary him. I mean, you've got a congressman here, Russ Vulture, who's in the Freedom Caucus. He's 62 years old, and he's somebody who could successfully take on Rish.
Was he in the U.S. Congress? Sorry? Yeah. He's in Congress right now, Russ Fulcher. As far as I know, yeah.
He's not in my district, yeah.
Freedom Caucus member. Oh, yeah, yeah. I know him. Yeah, we're looking closely at him. He'd be a huge upgrade. So what are our plans? Look, it's very similar to Cassidy in Louisiana and Mike Rounds in South Dakota.
if there is not abrupt changes from these sitting Republicans, and if they keep on sending money to Ukraine while we're being invaded on the southern border, in these deep red states, and I hope you understand, I hope everyone in the audience understands, and Scott, you do too, these are for deep, deep red states. We're not doing this in Maine.
We're not doing this where we might lose a Senate seat. Idaho is comfortably red, okay? It is comfortably red. And you have someone like Russ Fulcher, who would be a game-changer, Scott, do you think that the Republican primary voters in Idaho would be welcome to such a primary challenge?
One hundred percent. And let me but let me share two ideas with you that are very important. And you're very pragmatic, which is another reason I enjoy listening to your show, is that you've talked about the big blue cities. We must go beyond Boise. They're real voters are the rural voters. People in the rural areas distrust Boise. We have to engage them. Idaho State University.
I don't know if you've been there yet, but that's in eastern Idaho. Without an event there, I really believe that the rural voters will feel alienated. What was the school again you said? Idaho State University. It's in Pocatello, Idaho.
Yeah, I have been there. I have been there. Yeah, Pocatello. I have been there actually many, many years ago.
Yeah. We have to engage these rural voters. Take two days to come to Idaho. The other important point is don't forget the Mormons. Over 20% of Idaho residents are Mormon. Senator Crapo is Mormon. So let me mention this. just an hour away from idaho state university is byu idaho if you have an event there you will demand senator crapo's attention you will get the mormon's attention just
That alone will change everything.
So to answer your question, we are going to be doing some campus events. We might do an event, depending on the behavior of Crapo and Risch and their posture towards President Trump's nominees in January. We might end up doing a Give Trump His Cabinet event, but we need to pick our, we need to, we're definitely going to Louisiana with Mr. Cassidy.
And for that little tour, we're going to test the waters here. But look, if you voted to give money to Ukraine and turn the back on the necessary, uh, will of the voters. We're not, we're not going to, uh, we're not going to allow that to happen. So you're very well spoken, Scott. Um, I want our team. Yep. Please, please. One last thought.
Yeah. You had Mark Halperin on earlier. He, um, asked me a question on his two way platform about a week ago. It was very important. His response, uh, So I've been to Russia 50 times. I worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction Development in London. Let me tell you, that is the deepest state of all. We have to get rid of those.
And what I talked about, Mark, was and I said, Mark, presumption of grace. You know, there are people who understand that Russia is not a threat to the United States. And for the first time, I heard a mainstream reporter say, you know what? I know very smart people on both sides of the aisle. that understand that Russia isn't a threat. So I just wanted to throw that in there.
I mean, I will do whatever I can to help you in Idaho. I will leave my job right now. I just would love to be part of your team in Idaho. I think I've got some good ideas. So please keep that in mind.
I love it. Daisy's going to get me your contact information. I want to pick your brain. I also... Maybe you can help me get to Russ Fulcher. I'm sure I can get that done. But we want to get this organized. And look, we have to be reasonable. We are not here as bomb throwers. We're not bombastic. We're not here to start interparty fights unnecessarily.
But if you are not representing the will of the voters and you come from a deep red state, you will be removed from your Senate seat. OK, thank you so much. Really appreciate it. Thank you. Excellent. Excellent member call. What a way to start. Very good. Julie, thank you for being a member. Where are you from and what's on your mind?
Hi, Charlie. I am from Texas. I'm in the Fort Worth area, which turned back to red, which is amazing.
Love it.
Perfect. We barely escaped it out last time and turned a little bit blue, but not in our rural areas again, just like most people. My question is about the Surgeon General pick and Pam Bondi. Do you think that their previous stances are valid with Bondi being the red flag law and the Surgeon General with COVID and all of the lockdowns?
That's a good question. I don't know how to answer that. Again, you're never going to get everything you want in a candidate. I'm going to let Pam Bondi answer that for herself. I'm against red flag laws, but just Pam Bondi has a phenomenal upside. She's a terrific person. She's tough. She's smart. She'd have to answer for that.
I don't know the details of it, but if she is in favor of red flag laws, I'm not. And so that would just be one of those instances where we don't align on everything. And that's OK, because she's great on lawfare. She's great on so many different things. So and then as far as the surgeon general pick, I'm on a different planet of a worldview than her. But that's the president's decision.
And we will allow the president to choose his cabinet as he sees fit. But do not see the do not see the world the way she does. That's for sure. Thank you, Julie. Really appreciate it. William. William is next. William, thank you for being a member. What's on your mind?
Hi. I wanted to know what you know about monetary reform in terms of using monetary reform for reducing the debt.
So such as returning to the gold standard or special drawing rights? Is that what you're talking about?
No. Actually, Bill Still of the Still Report has been in the movement for about 30 years, and he's done a number of documentaries, and he has a plan to use U.S. notes instead of Federal Reserve notes for reducing the national debt. And this is something that Abraham Lincoln actually did for paying the Civil War instead of taking on new debt.
What happens when the power's out, your phone says no service, and the grid is down? Do you have a backup plan? If you don't have a satellite phone from sat123.com, you're risking more than just missed calls. A satellite phone from sat123.com keeps you connected no matter what. You could be miles from civilization or in the middle of a natural disaster. This phone works when everything else fails.
It's your lifeline when the world goes dark, and let's be real, these days anything can happen. But with Sat123.com, you're prepared. Sat123 is committed to American values. They believe in reliability and quality that you can trust when it matters most. Don't wait until it's too late. Head on over to Sat123.com. That is Sat123.com. Use promo code Charlie for $25 off.
Protect yourself, protect your family, and stay connected with Sat123.com. Blake, do you want to respond to this specific question here from one of our members about monetary reform?
Do we still have – can you repeat what it was? Sure.
Yeah, just synthesize it, please.
So the issue is, is the Federal Reserve was formed in 1913, correct? It was formed by an act of Congress, and they actually were delegated the ability to issue our currency as Federal Reserve notes. Now, back in the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln used what is called U.S. notes or greenbacks to pay for the Civil War without having to go to the banks to borrow money.
So the idea is that as a sovereign country, we should be able to issue our own currency without having to borrow it and increase the national debt. The currency should be managed by Congress and the US Treasury.
So what you're saying is eliminate the Federal Reserve and give control of the currency directly from the US Treasury and Congress. Is that essentially what you're saying?
Yes. But does that do anything to wipe out the debt that currently exists?
So – What would happen is this is Bill Stills' plan of the stillreport.com. He's actually done three documentaries on it. One is The Money Masters. The other is The Secret of Oz. And the other is Jekyll Island. And the plan is that you would use these U.S. notes to pay off – the bonds as they become due because a good portion of our bonds are short term notes, thanks to Janet Yellen.
And instead of paying them off by incurring new debt, you instead would pay off the notes, pay off the bonds with these U.S. notes, which would look very similar to to Federal Reserve notes, except it says US notes at the top, and it has a red seal on the currency instead of a green seal. And it's issued by Congress rather than borrowed into existence.
Because right now, banks can just create money out of thin air, private banks. That's how money is generally created. And What Bill Still is saying is that we should, as a sovereign country, we should be issuing our own currency as we need to, as we need it, without relying on central banks. Got it. Private central banks.
That is fascinating. Blake and I will do our homework, and we will check out Mr. Still. So thank you. Really appreciate that. Thank you. Thomas, thank you for being a member. What is on your mind?
Hi, Charlie. I was wondering, as an 18-year-old from New Jersey, what I can do to help with the upcoming governor election.
That is a good question. We've got to be thinking about that, Charlie. It's been a month. I can't have a month off. So can you educate us, Thomas? When is the governor's race? What is going on with that? I think it's coming up this November, right?
Yeah, so we have three primary candidates, Cittarelli, Spadia, and some other guy, but I'm for Spadia. So, because Cittarelli said he's non-supporter Trump or whatever.
Got it. So these off-election years can be very important. The Democrats have this Politico article, six rock star Democrats that could be the next governor of New Jersey. And it's as nauseating as you could imagine. But look, as far as to get involved. Honestly, if you're 18, go straight up to their campaign headquarters, the candidate you like and say, I want to volunteer.
I'm going to go knock on doors. I'll make phone calls. I'll do whatever you ask. And from there, you can start to cut your teeth in politics. Look, New Jersey does remain a blue living state with not over 900,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans. But no one here is ruling out a Republican victory. It can happen. It was very, very close.
If you might remember with Phil Murphy back in 2021, like really, really close, like closer than people could have ever possibly have imagined. Get engaged, get involved. I also know that Scott Pressler is going to be working in the great state of New Jersey. The Garden State is what they call it. This is for all of you that are members, members.charliekirk.com.
You get the opportunity to ask us questions weekly. Miss Daisy must be very happy. We've been better about this every week. We've been really, it's back to normal operating order. We're getting closer. We're getting closer. We're getting closer. By the way, you know all members at AmFest get to come and listen to the most amazing interviews, dialogues, discourses, only members.
Members.CharlieKirk.com. We have a members lounge this year. It is going to be amazing. Members.CharlieKirk.com. Manny, thank you so much for being a member. What's on your mind?
Yeah, I just wanted to bring up an idea. that's been twirling around in my head. And I was thinking, how could we get rid of, of, of porn is such a, such a bad, not get rid of it. Cause you know, you can never get rid of something like that. But maybe we can do a fight like, like what the surgeon general did with cigarettes, right.
Where they, where they put, Hey, you know, smoking cigarettes could, could be damaging for your health and all that stuff. Maybe have a surgeon general warning that, in front of all porn videos that say, you know, watching porn could be detrimental to your health, to your mental health.
Your brain health.
Addiction could lead to certain problems. I know that, you know, it could be a long shot, but I know that all of you guys up there at the Charlie Kirk show peddled influence pretty well. And I thought, hey, might as well shout this idea to you and see what you thought.
It's a great idea. That is actually a fascinating idea I haven't thought about because I think – and Blake is here. Can the Surgeon General do that unilaterally or does that take an act of Congress, Blake? I mean that's a very interesting question, isn't it?
I would not know off the top of my head. I don't – I feel like the Surgeon General's role is primarily advisory-based. But I guess I don't know how they originally put that, like, on tobacco, for example.
No, no, but, I mean, there are Surgeon General warnings on certain products. So look that up. Very smart point. Look, as far as the number one thing that we can do and that we should do is that we should have robust age verification. Now, I can't remember the status of this because Texas required age verification and then Pornhub canceled all of their services in Texas. Is that right? Yeah. Yeah.
They also did that in Utah. Is that ongoing?
There's ongoing. So I don't know the case of that legal case. I just wanted to throw out a very interesting idea. I remember hearing from a friend of mine and it might have we might have even talked about this. It might have it might have actually been a right wing revolution now that I think about it.
But it was imagine if a site if you required them to charge for it and it could even be one penny. but you have to charge, which means it has to go on a credit card that you own. And that by itself just massively increases the hurdle, I think, for a lot of people towards using that product. And so there's so many different things you could do.
I don't know specifically on whether the Surgeon General could just order it because I think, at least in California, I know they have that requirement where they have all those warnings for cancer. I think they need to allow for that.
No, it's very interesting. Somebody recently gave me, and they're very nice, the sunglasses that Facebook has, Meta. They're the Meta Ray-Bans. And on the back of the Meta Ray-Ban container is a California general warning saying that these might give you cancer. And it's like pretty big, actually. It's like pretty big.
It says state of California law requires that you know that these glasses might give you cancer. So I don't know if I want to wear these anymore. Anyway, so to get back to our member here, a friend here. Great question. And I'm sorry. No. Manny. Manny. Sorry. Manny Marshall. I got two names here. Manny. Age verification is the fight. That is the fight is that we must.
You do not have a constitutional right if you're 15 or 16 years old. to watch pornography. I'm sorry. That's just ridiculous. There should be robust age protections and we could proceed from there. But I think a much more open, um, public health discussion about how pornography is bad for the health of a nation is 100% legitimate.
Now I do cringe a little bit though at some public health discussions because they're going to use this to ban firearms. I'm telling you, Blake will agree that they've already started to say that firearm deaths are a public health emergency. Um, which is ridiculous. And so you have to be a little careful as far as how it could be extrapolated to other policy measures.
But pornography is poison to our society and culture. I'm not for overall banning things. I don't like a heavy hand of government if it's not totally necessary. So I think an immediate step is robust age verification. All right. Thank you so much. Folks, your halls are decked with holly, and the sound of Andy Williams on the radio tells us to be of good cheer.
But often the joy of the season is lost in the hustle and bustle. That's why my friends at Hillsdale College produced a free online course on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Miracle. Yes, I'm from Oregon. Go Ducks.
Go Ducks. Yes, sir. I like you already.
My wife and I will be at AmFest next week for our first time, not to Phoenix, but to AmFest.
Amazing. Come find me and wear a Ducks hat. Come find me.
Okay. Is there any breakout session to assist blue states like Oregon to organize and organize act or do similar to that you did in swing states? Or do you have future plans to help us blue states turn red? Because I think Oregon was the trial balloon for mail-in ballots. And ever since we've had mail-in ballots, no Republican major or major player in Oregon has been a Republican.
We always miss by just enough.
somehow that always just finds a bucket of ballots in a trunk or something so first of all i'm thrilled you're coming truly uh you're gonna love it and as a member you get really exclusive benefits as because you're coming i don't know if you know that i mentioned earlier exclusive live interviews members lounge preferential seating you guys get great great benefits um
So I just I'm thrilled you're coming because as a member, AmFest is way better as a member and it's good as it is. So as far as the breakout sessions, let me just read some of these to you. Some might apply to you. We have faith in action, faith in America. We have a deep dive into the 2024 election results. The mom vote securing America's future. Gen Z, the great American tomorrow.
We have the story of how we left the left from people that form on the left. Blue collar conservatism. We have We Are the Media, Dismantling DEI, Chasing America's Catholics. This one that might actually apply to you, voter registration across America. We have Vamos, Chasing the American Latino Vote. We have Deep State Arabella by Tyler Boyer.
We have the King's Council, Faith, Law and Policy, Legal Impact Under the Trump Administration. We also have one with Turning Point Academy. So I don't know if any of those speak to you directly, but breakouts are a huge part of AmFest. The voter registration one in particular, I think might be helpful. And also just diagnosing and dissecting the 2024 results.
Super thrilled you're coming, Marshall. Come find me. Wear your Ducks hat. And my current schedule is that if Oregon makes the Cotton Bowl, we're going to probably go to the Cotton Bowl. Blake is just cringing. Can I get a live shot of Blake right now rolling his eyes? I can feel it from Phoenix. See, this is Blake. It's so confusing. Oregon's in the Rose Bowl. I will not be going to that.
If Oregon makes the Cotton Bowl, I will be going to that. And if Oregon makes the National Championship game,
don't go to the national title game this is the debate this is the this is the big debate happening blake is do i stay in dc for the night of the inauguration or do i go to the national title game if you like that's the debate go see them go see them there'll there'll be other inaugurations there may never be another there may never be a college football title game that feels real it'll just be semi-pro football
You're joking, but it's not a joke of how seriously we take Ducks football. Okay, Kars, thank you for being a member. Members.CharlieKirk.com. Yes, how are you? Thank you for being a member. What's up?
Hey, Charlie. How are you doing? Good. How are you? I'm doing great. Can't complain. It's a beautiful day. So my question was, being a Christian, straight, white male, and a Republican, conservative, whatever you want to say, it seems like it's getting harder and harder to actually land a job in the United States. And that's not just happening in California.
I feel like that's happening in the majority of the U.S. So I was wondering, what can we do, if anything, to push back against this and make it so, you know, being a Christian or being a Republican isn't negative in searching for a job?
So first of all, I think that it is changing, but it's not there yet. If you really want to find a good job where that is not the case, I'm going to give you some advice that I'm sure you've thought of that you're not going to love. You need to leave the state of California. Just the state of California is really a – it is a diseased place as far as where this wokeism, this DEI is.
Blake, what thoughts do you have on this regime when it comes to corporate practices in particular?
Man, I don't – I guess I feel that you're putting me on the spot on these economic questions, and I don't work as an economist, so I always am afraid of sounding like a complete idiot.
But you know corporate culture pretty well.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. The regime and corporate culture, it is amazing because what we've seen over time is so much of a fusion of like the left's values in government and then the left's values in the corporate world. And there's so much more overlap between them.
And you meet so many people who are like fossilized in amber and they just – they think of jokes from the 1960s where it's like, oh, people in business are Republicans. And you still run into this with the Chamber of Commerce stuff where they just think, oh, like people who are in business must be conservative Republicans. And the answer to that very often is no, and we have –
a lot of cultural issues to overcome in the corporate world. And we're only just seeing the beginnings of that with what was unleashed by Elon Musk, what was unleashed with so many other forces. And it's like we have to almost reclaim government so that we can show that it is safe to change how private enterprise operates.
And that's the exact opposite of how conservatives in the past would have usually thought of it.
Great answer. Okay. Thank you for being a member. Really appreciate it. And I hate telling people to leave California because it's gorgeous, but you might have to. Cody, thank you for being a member of members.charliekirk.com. Where are you from, Cody, and what's on your mind?
Hey, Charlie. I am from the great state of Arkansas. You know, I've been a supporter of you for a while, so it's exciting talking with you.
Thank you.
As you know, Senator Cotton, Bozeman are – my representatives for Arkansas. And I mean, starting out, I was a huge Cotton supporter. I had a lot of faith in him. Since then, he's voted what I feel like is against Make America Great Again. And I've just, I have tried contacting him and Bozeman. And at first they would respond. Now they quit responding to me.
But there's just been numerous things that I've had a problem with them. And I just want to know, how do you feel about Senator Cotton and Bozeman, for that matter, at this point where we're at right now?
Mm hmm. So let's start on Cotton. So let me start with the disagreement, then I'll get to the agreement, because there's a lot of good with Cotton. I'm on different worldview planets with Senator Cotton on foreign policy. He is a neoconservative. There's just no other way to put it. He has learned better than a lot of neocon Republicans.
He could have been even more aggressive like Lindsey Graham, but he is definitely a neoconservative. And that is not a pejorative. That is an insult. That is an accurate description. However, I would say this, Cody. Tom Cotton is excellent on immigration and he's excellent on crime. Those are two things he's very, very good on.
Remember, he was the one that was publicly encouraging President Trump to use the Insurrection Act against all the Floyd riots in 2020, something President Trump probably actually should have done. He wrote the op-ed in The New York Times and it started all this backlash. So Tom Cotton, his stances on Russia, Ukraine and other conflicts, I just I don't share them at all.
However, domestically, he's been very, very good on immigration and crime. I can't say that about Bozeman. I've never met him. I have no relationship with him. He is also a neocon, but he does not, under any voting pattern record or public commentary, strike me as somebody who's quote unquote good on any issue. So Tom Cotton, I think...
We're just not going to have the same views on America First or on foreign policy, but definitely very strong. And I will say this. Senator Cotton always texts me back. He's always very polite, very open to feedback, open to disagreements, whereas Bozeman never met him. Thank you, Cody. Merry Christmas. Thanks for your support. Thank you. Let's do this.
Jason says, Charlie, what are your plans for Christmas? God bless America. I love Christmas. We are taking on the show off the 24th, the 25th, and the 26th. We are off for three days straight. The team also deserves that. My plan is just to be with my kids and our family and chill out a little bit, which is going to be really fun to do and definitely a fun year to recap.
Tim says, as our final question here, Charlie, I remember listening to the great Rush Limbaugh, wanting to hear some specific things for us to do to help win elections. Happily, now you've done that. Please continue to rally us and provide direction to continue this conservative movement in future elections. Yeah, look, I mean, Rush was Rush. He is the legend. He is the greatest.
He's the George Washington. No one will ever come close to him. of talk radio, but on our program, we are very focused on action and specific ways that you can improve your nation.
