Chapter 1: What is the purpose of the podcast introduction?

00:01 - 00:04 Stu Gatz

You're listening to DraftKings Network.

Chapter 2: How should Jägermeister be consumed correctly?

00:12 - 00:34 Mike

Listen, boys, we got to talk about Jägermeister, a go-to guy at home, at the bar, or maybe even out at the rink. A drink so ice cold, it deserves its own video tribute at every sports bar across North America. No trash talk, no running its mouth. We love the confidence on them. Jägermeister sent us an ad to read on the show, but they're so confident they said, don't do any of that normal ad stuff.

0

00:34 - 00:56 Mike

Tell the listeners two things. Jägermeister is great, but everyone's been drinking it wrong. Damn, that's cold. Well, how should we be drinking it? They're so glad you asked. Ice cold at zero degrees Fahrenheit to be exact. Ice cold shots of Jägermeister. That's it. That's all they want to tell you. So wherever you are, if you're hanging out with friends or at the bar, call the shots.

0

00:56 - 00:59 Mike

Cheers with ice cold shots of Jägermeister.

0

00:59 - 01:00 Jessica

Damn, that's cold.

0

00:00 - 00:00 Roy

And remember to check Jägermeister out at DraftKingsXJägermeister.com.

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

Drink responsibly. Jagermeister liqueur, 35% alcohol by volume. Imported by Mass Jagermeister U.S. White Plains, New York. Now's a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila. Cuervo. What are you doing here?

00:00 - 00:00 Dan Le Batard

Cuervo. Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up.

00:00 - 00:00 Stu Gatz

Cuervo.

00:00 - 00:00 Chris Cote

Cuervo.

Chapter 3: What is the current state of the Florida Panthers?

02:30 - 02:49 Dan Le Batard

I wanted to ask the fans of the champion Florida Panthers in the room a question. Four unanswered goals allowed against the Islanders. They've lost a few games. They allowed three goals in the third period to the Bruins.

0

02:49 - 03:03 Dan Le Batard

And I'm here to ask you if you believe vibes and a Marchand haunting have arrived for the Florida Panthers because Mike Ryan has been worried that trading for this particular man, Roy, you're shaking your head no.

0

03:04 - 03:07 Billy

Vibes are fine with the Panthers. In Pantherland, we're doing great, Dan.

0

03:08 - 03:28 Mike

I don't think it's the dumbest thing. I think injecting Brad Marchand, but he's not really playing. So I don't think that's what's happening. I think what's happening here is Aaron Ekblad, because of performance enhancers, turned into a really good player for Florida. And we've seen these dips in form from Florida this season when Aaron Ekblad is not at his performance enhancing best.

0

Chapter 4: Are performance enhancers affecting the Panthers' performance?

03:29 - 03:47 Mike

And right now they miss Aaron Ekblad. And that's what's happening. Also, this is a natural dip in form after they set the world on fire. And yeah, they've lost three out of four. In the middle of that, they beat Toronto in Toronto. Comeback victory in its own right against a team that's in the division right now that's presently chasing them.

0

03:48 - 03:53 Mike

This is exactly where you want this dip to happen in the season.

0

03:53 - 03:55 Chris Cote

Yeah, they just need to cheat a little bit to get good.

0

03:55 - 04:14 Mike

That's right. That's right. I do get a little angry in the group chat. And this is me like coming out anti-Homer's like, well, yeah, shocking that Aaron Eckblad's out and we suffer. And this is all because Aaron Eckblad's out. But you have to kind of acknowledge that Aaron Eckblad was what you think he is because of clearly performance enhancers.

0

00:00 - 00:00 Billy

Could you theoretically schedule it so you only lose one guy on a line at a time with performance enhancing drug suspensions? So like you get like a system going where like, okay, Ekblad's going to be out 20. And then when he comes back, hopefully we don't get caught. But if we get caught, this other guy will be out 20. But Ekblad will be back and he'll be juicing again and we'll be fine.

00:00 - 00:00 Billy

And just kind of like start scheduling the cycles possibly. You never want any of your guys to get caught. But if they do, you make sure they're getting caught at different times.

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

So Marchand will probably be back before the playoffs. That's the expectation. Kachuk will return with the playoffs. Ekblad's suspension carries him two games into the postseason, and then Ekblad is back.

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

So during the postseason, you're going to have those three talents essentially all coming into your lineup around the same time, and you would imagine that the form will be much better when the playoffs roll around for the Panthers.

00:00 - 00:00 Roy

Yeah. And added to that is the injury of Dmitry Kulikov, who got hurt in the Islanders game last night. So they went down a defenseman.

Chapter 5: How do sports teams handle scandals and cheating?

06:51 - 07:11 Dan Le Batard

No, you don't know what I'm doing. I'm leading over to the Buffalo Bills, who just now signed two free agents. And the first thing that they're doing with those two free agents is announcing the apology of they're both out for six games for performance enhancers to start their Bills career. One of them on a one-year deal, one of them on a three-year deal.

0

07:11 - 07:32 Dan Le Batard

The three-year deal, they were going to take the suspension no matter what and keep the guy. But if they had known... The other player was a performance enhancer. They say publicly they never would have given him the contract. And so what I'm asking you is where the entanglements on all these moralities get. When do you start actually using any of this stuff to stain the team accomplishments?

0

07:33 - 07:38 Dan Le Batard

Or do you just when Jessica smears you with Ekblad's a cheater. So when the cheater gets back.

0

07:38 - 07:51 Mike

All right. So you went exactly where I thought you were going to go. Ekblad was a different player in the postseason last year than he was this regular season. It was a pretty clear and obvious night and day to the point that you're asking, man, was he just really, really hurt during the postseason?

0

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

Last two postseasons, Aaron Ekblad hasn't been very good and he certainly wasn't the player that he was before. This season in particular... It was a revelation. I don't know when the sample was. There's that curious Islanders Reddit post that was circulating about someone just posting.

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

I think there's a PED thing going on with the Panthers, and it's going to end up reversing the championship game. That's all people have right now. I don't know when their sample was for him to test positive for performance enhancers, but I will say this season, he's looked the best he has in several seasons for Florida, and it made all the sense in the world when that press release came through.

00:00 - 00:00 Billy

I think the simple answer is if you're a fan of the team, when your player gets caught cheating, it's like, oh my God, why did this happen? And how did this happen the first time he ever tried to cheat? That's so weird. And then if you're not a fan of the team... Always dirty, rotten cheaters and everyone else is cheating.

00:00 - 00:00 Chris Cote

That's exactly what I was going to say. Dan, it depends on who you are and who the team is. I am completely writing off the Panthers-Stanley Cup because they're a bunch of cheaters. And I think America's with me.

00:00 - 00:00 Mike

What I don't like so much about it is you had those things happen at the same time.

Chapter 6: What are the controversies surrounding playoff golf?

15:14 - 15:17 Chris Cote

Soon every hole will be a natural disaster hole.

0

15:17 - 15:23 Mike

Just one of them rooted in reality. What do you mean? I've reported. I'm trying to get tethered here. Same.

0

15:24 - 15:29 Billy

I'm trying to help out Dan. I'm seeing Dan, and Dan's out there, and he's looking for a lifeline, and I'm tossing them to him all day.

0

15:30 - 15:44 Dan Le Batard

You keep tossing me anchors. There's a line attached to that anchor, though. Just grab the other end. I'm sitting there. I'm trying to flail around. I'm trying to grab onto something, and you just keep throwing heavy things at me.

0

00:00 - 00:00 Stu Gatz

That was a fun ending, though, the Happy Gilmore. Remember? He went off the thing.

00:00 - 00:00 Dan Le Batard

Yeah.

00:00 - 00:00 Stu Gatz

Imagine if that's how you settle the players.

00:00 - 00:00 Dan Le Batard

But it's not serious golf analysis. Okay, do it at the waste management then. Okay, but we've got sports happening right now in our face. Like, we never have.

00:00 - 00:00 Billy

I just said a guy pooped on the green. That didn't happen either.

Chapter 7: How do tiredness and preparation affect podcast quality?

16:31 - 16:37 Dan Le Batard

That's fun. Isn't there all sorts of stuff in the bottom of the ocean that's just thrown down there that becomes reefs? Well, this is on purpose.

0

16:38 - 16:42 Chris Cote

The rest of it is just, we're just going to get poisoned by it.

0

16:42 - 16:56 Billy

They just drove, like, last week or two weeks ago, this giant ship, like, that they were intentionally sinking to make a giant artificial reef, like, off the coast of something. Yeah, it drove by it right down the east coast. Massive. Do you think fish get in there?

0

16:56 - 17:00 Stu Gatz

They're like, this is my room. I got this one. Like, that's essentially what they're doing.

0

00:00 - 00:00 Billy

Yes.

00:00 - 00:00 Stu Gatz

Like dibs. Yes. And then a bigger fish comes. And then a bigger fish comes. And it's like, no, now it's mine.

00:00 - 00:00 Jason

Wow. Yesterday's show was so good. It was a top three show. According to Jason.

00:00 - 00:00 Dan Le Batard

We're tired. You guys, we announced at the very beginning of this that no one had any material left today.

00:00 - 00:00 Chris Cote

This is the truth. We all got home at like 10 o'clock last night. And then we immediately, at least me, I immediately went to bed and woke up seven hours later to come in. Yeah. I have not read anything. I have not watched anything. We emptied it all out yesterday.
