Chapter 1: How did Cuervo become synonymous with tequila?

1.573 - 22.133 Andrew Hawkins

Now's a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila. Cuervo. What are you doing here? Cuervo. Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up. Well, I do know that to be true, but even during ad reads, like... Cuervo. I think you could lay out, especially for one of our great partners. Sweet, delicious Cuervo. Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots.

Cuervo.

34.441 - 39.586 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Cuervo. This is the Dan Levitar Show with the Stugatz Podcast.

Chapter 2: Why was the national anthem performance at a Nashville Predators game controversial?

44.042 - 65.392 Domonique Foxworth

All right, so I've been told that Nashville is the music city. We've had this conversation before. I'm not a big fan of live music, but Nashville is supposed to be the music city, right? So you would think that if you go to a Nashville event, you're going to get some fine music. Not apparently. If you go to a Nashville Predators game, you might get an anthem like this.

0

73.049 - 96.103 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hailed? How did that get approved? Like, do they not vet things? Were they just like, all right, this guy looks like he's got a jersey on? You said vet? I think he was a vet. I'm going to look it up, but I think he was a vet. Great anthem. You got some leeway on that.

0

96.223 - 118.696 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Thank you for your service, sir. Incredible anthem. Let him rock. I'm still going to push back here. Really? There has to be another qualification. Just on his face. You don't think that if you were at that game, you wouldn't love that? That was f***ing sick. What? Play it again. This is ridiculous. You don't know what song it is. What beat is that?

0

121.923 - 147.373 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

And you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed That guy's never played the bongos before. Someone just handed it like, hey, this is how you're doing it. A really fast beat for that song. I'm not a bongo player, although bongo does seem... Yes, you are. Everybody is. Yeah, I guess you're right.

0

147.393 - 159.158 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

I love it at the stadium when they do the thing where it's like they put a picture of a bongo and then everyone's playing it. Even as an instrument for the bongos, isn't that a very like... Afro, like, Cuban. I would have assumed as much.

159.598 - 165.7 Domonique Foxworth

It felt like a person playing the bongos authentically would have had a little bit more to them.

165.88 - 186.098 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

History of the bongo. Bongos, a pair of open bottom drums, originated in Afro-Cuban culture in the late 19th century. Just sing it, man. The singing's not terrible. Especially if you're playing the bongos while his voice is great for someone who's also simultaneously playing the bongos.

186.318 - 200.827 Domonique Foxworth

I think where Charlie was going with this was not arguing whether he's good at it or bad at it. Why? If you're going to an event Would you rather just have a normal anthem, or would you rather be at the one game where this guy plays the bongos? I'm with you.

201.048 - 216.203 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

This is interesting, and I would be laughing if I was in the arena. I wouldn't be angry about it, but it's just one of those things of, like, something fell through the cracks here. Whoever's in charge of the production there was definitely like, all right, the person under them got a strongly worded email the next day.

Chapter 3: How does the new Beatles film project stand out?

309.146 - 326.158 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Let's make this happen. We can get you at a heat game. Somewhere where it doesn't fit. Like Pittsburgh Paints Arena for a penguin game. Like Utah. Like you're doing it as a jazz game, then maybe. Minor league baseball wouldn't fly.

0

326.838 - 338.347 Andrew Hawkins

I say you do it in Canada, turn the crowd. Turn the crowd. Because they're going to be booing you either way. I like that. So maybe if you do something different with it, they're like, wait, at first I wanted to boo this guy. But his ambition.

0

338.427 - 343.612 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

When everybody's waving and I get them started right here first, and they all get into it.

0

343.652 - 344.873 Andrew Hawkins

You say glare. Yeah.

0

346.014 - 350.378 Domonique Foxworth

Yeah, you got to have a hype man. You got to have a hype man along with it. And I volunteer, Mike.

350.458 - 369.1 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Or just bring Busta Rhymes. He just starts going. You're a speed rapper? And you got to get away, get away, get away. And the bombs were way in the way, in the way. That would be the best National Anthem ever. Busta Rhymes National Anthem. Let's go!

369.12 - 378.002 Domonique Foxworth

Like 10 seconds long. I mean, I don't know how much time Hawk needs to prepare, but I feel like he's got it in him. I feel like he's got a Busta Rhymes National Anthem in him at some point.

378.022 - 380.423 Andrew Hawkins

Look at me now, version. Come on.

380.443 - 386.965 Domonique Foxworth

That's gold, man. Yeah, well, speaking of music and art, there's a Beatles movie coming out, right, Mike?

Chapter 4: What are the sports equivalents for each Beatle?

510.195 - 530.75 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

And so I just learned all the music of that album specifically. Did you guys see the show on Netflix a couple years ago called Kaleidoscope? Yeah, I did. So like Kaleidoscope was kind of like this where it was like a heist movie and there was like eight or nine episodes or whatever it was. And there was no order to watch them in because each one was focusing on what happened.

0

530.89 - 537.776 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

And depending on which order you watched it in, you would believe different things based on how the story unfolded.

0

537.796 - 555.684 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

That's kind of like the last season of Arrested Development on Netflix when they like brought it back and then they gave you the perspective of each character. Nobody else saw it. I can tell you, like, this is already... You guys are very surprised at my whiteness. He's like, yo, you listen to The Beatles and watch Arrested Development season four?

0

555.704 - 573.168 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

The thing about Arrested Development is like... You also played the bongos earlier. You canceled it, you brought it back, then it was on Netflix, and then it was like a long break in between. And then you watch and you're like, I don't remember what's going on. And I watched it to watch it because I felt like I needed to have some closure. But then there were times where I'm like,

0

573.348 - 576.63 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

I'm watching this just to watch it. Like to say that I watched the whole thing.

576.65 - 577.731 Andrew Hawkins

That was my experience with it.

578.051 - 581.673 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

I want to go back. The OGs are still the best ones.

582.173 - 605.282 Andrew Hawkins

But from a filmmaking perspective, I don't know how they're going to go about shooting this. It seems like a nightmare to edit because like, well, we're in this... We built this set for the Ringo part, but this is a big part of John, so I assume they're going to have their own perspective of the very same scene. It's a very ambitious project to take off.

605.302 - 614.344 Domonique Foxworth

Alright, I'm throwing you a bit of a curveball right now, but for somebody like me, who I'm aware of the Beatles, there's some songs that are good, are fine, but I'm not a Beatles guy.

Chapter 5: What makes Tommy John underwear a game changer?

918.533 - 937.96 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

That's the best part because when two people come into an argument, you never see the buildup leading to it. So like you said with Kaleidoscope, we'll have a completely different thought process getting to that point. I'm just now imagining the Ringo movie where like, Ringo, we got some rough news for you. John has been assassinated. He's like, oh, why couldn't it be me?

0

939.24 - 945.402 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

And like years later, like, oh, Ringo, bad news. George has like, oh, yeah. When's my turn? His whole life.

0

947.323 - 968.738 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

I'm still alive. Guys, I want to talk to you about something that I don't think we think about enough on a daily basis. And that's comfort, specifically when it comes to underwear. Because let's be real, when it's not right, you're going to feel it all day. And that's why I want to tell all of you about Tommy John.

0

969.078 - 987.725 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Because the first time I put on a pair, I knew my underwear drawer would just simply never be the same. Tommy John just recently sent some of their product to those of us in the shipping container, and this is my first time wearing Tommy John underwear. I was really blown away by the comfort, by the stretch that was available within the design, by the texture.

0

987.965 - 1006.051 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

There's a genuine comfort, and I can tell that they put in effort to make sure, specifically in our case with men, that we would feel comfortable. Honestly, Tommy John's changed the game for me. I know it's going to be a good day now when I walk out the door and I've got Tommy John on. No distractions, no adjusting, just all-day confidence.

1006.291 - 1027.14 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Chapter 6: How has Miller Lite remained iconic for 50 years?

1193.516 - 1204.965 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

Oh, his is good. That's actually not bad. His is good. Not terrible. That's not terrible. We got to come together. A little southern twang there. A little George Bush in that one. This is the Don Levitar Show with the Stugats.

0

1208.194 - 1229.648 Domonique Foxworth

Some of the news that's come out of the meeting at the Breakers for the NFL owners is not all that riveting right now. But some of the video I've really enjoyed. Have you guys seen the Mike Tomlin video where he's answering a question, I think, about Aaron Rodgers? He's answering that question. But the answer to the question doesn't matter as much as the visuals.

0

1229.688 - 1230.849 Domonique Foxworth

I don't know if anyone's seen that.

0

1231.169 - 1232.87 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

I have not. He looks super sweaty.

0

1233.191 - 1234.551 Domonique Foxworth

Is this audio, guys? Let's play this.

1234.571 - 1235.232 Unidentified Speaker (Brief Interjection)

We got it ready.

1237.141 - 1260.965 Mike

He's a free agent. As you guys know, he came to visit last Friday. We had a really productive day. He's been in this thing a long time. I've been in this thing a long time. But it's no substitute for intimacy and spending time together and getting to know one another in a non-competitive environment. And so that was really good. But I don't have any new updates in terms of where the process is.

1261.005 - 1263.126 Mike

We'll see where it leads us.

1263.206 - 1270.831 Domonique Foxworth

There's a lot more to it. He is glistening. He doesn't even say anything that's super interesting in there. It's just pretty straightforward about Aaron Rodgers.
