Chapter 1: What is the introduction to the podcast episode?
This is a Global Player original podcast.
Welcome to Both Harp and Scouse to Me, with myself, Joanne McNally, and Beau Billings.
Chapter 2: Why is Vogue Williams in a recording studio?
I'm here, Joanne, in a recording studio. I'm finishing off recording my book, Big Mouth.
Is your mouth wrecked?
I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of myself anymore. There has been... Because obviously I've edited it, so this is maybe my fourth time reading and I'm like, I hate you. I hate you.
I remember doing a lot of VO for the Investigator, you know, the John Investigator series, the Avril and the Furby one. And you kind of... It's like when you overthink walking and then you just fall down. It's when you speak so much, you kind of forget how to pronounce words because you're so focused on how you sound and it's discombobulation. I agree.
I kind of get that with breathing sometimes. You know, if you start thinking about breathing, you're like...
that's why that's why it's best the less we think the better vow we've always thought that 100% less thinking out of us we start breaking when we think yeah let's not think about anything okay let's just move forward just keep going forward no thinking do you notice anything different about me okay it forwards a little to okay

Chapter 3: What are the challenges with teeth whitening?
I'm literally showing you my teeth like a horse. It's obviously my teeth.
It's no difference. You always look like that.
I did those. No, they do not. I did those. I saw somebody else and I was like, oh my God, their teeth are so white. So I took myself home. I have these whitening trays and then my teeth are really sore today, but I'm like, I don't care, they're white.
Oh, but the pain, like I left my trays on for too long. I did some whitening before and I had a photo shoot the next day. It was like a press call thing. And none of the photos went anywhere because I couldn't open my mouth. Because it's like the wind whistling through your teeth. They're so sensitive. It's horrible. Even the wind was getting in. Yeah, the teeth look great.
Yeah, I was on my bike and I was like, oh my God, I cut the right stuff. I use those crest whitening strips that I buy in the States. They're fantastic. They're fantastic. And a dentist recommended them to me, so they can't be that bad.
I know. I'm sure we're whiting our eyeballs and everything. We go to the States to just whiten everything.
Yeah. What do you have to tell me?
Oh.
I've loads of news.

Chapter 4: Why is Joanne concerned about her hair?
Two days ago. Yeah, but I saved bits. I saved bits. You little snake. I've been very busy. Have you? I've been very busy. I've had several important appointments. The main news is I was worried about this for a while. I have my concerns. It has been officially diagnosed from a professional. I am going bald. I am.
Yeah, yeah, you can laugh all you want. I thought she was going to say, you are, I just, okay, I'll let you finish. I've gone, I've been to a scalp dermatologist. See, I think I love you so much that even if you literally had a bald patch on the whole top of your head was bald, like Friar Tuck, I'd still say, you're not.
Yeah, thank you. And I really appreciate the support. But I think we all know I am suffering from, from early female patterned baldness I went to so I've been giving out about the front of my hairline for ages and there's the Montreal Clinic in London I don't know if you've been in there fucking stunning anyway they very kindly were like do you want to come in and we'll have a look at you
My hair has not recovered. I have a lot of hair. I've always had a big head of hair. My biological father had what can only be described as kind of a Roscommon afro. Huge hair. And... But the front of the thing... Now, I've had... I've been bleaching it and you know the way you heat and you curl it and all this stuff and I had the slag strips and they were...
snapping off but there's been no regrowth so the the you're so this woman is a sculptor she's like one of the best in the business her whole thing is hair loss obviously and hair is her thing and I was kind of embarrassed going in because I was like oh she's gonna just think I'm being vain but I am but like that hair is really important everyone wants a good head of hair don't they anyway she went in she goes she was she
pulled my hair back. We did before photos. She had a look. She goes, yeah, yeah, you are suffering from early female patterned baldness. Now, Vogue. Yes. Now, I'm sick. In the head. Finally, I have diagnosis I can work with. Yeah. So, I'm going to start... Hang on.
What kind of tablets... What tablets have they given you? Why have you gone for this? You must be getting something out of it.
Well, what she said... I was like, look, how do I end up not looking like Walter... How do I end up not looking like Walter Goggins? What's his name?
Walton Goggins. And he's very in fashion, Joanne. So actually you're fashionable, ahead of the curve as always.

Chapter 5: What solutions are available for hair loss?
There's a lot of costs to consider here.
Yeah. I'll have to do a full-blown collab with Charlotte Chilbury to afford it all. Anyway, we talked about it. She was like, there's tablets you can take, but the tablets aren't localised. So you end up getting hair everywhere. So do you know what she actually recommended? Now I'm going to, I'm trying a couple of things with her. She said Regain. She said it's really, really good. Yeah.
And she said, you have to be really patient because hair growth takes a long time. And she said, usually people just give up and that's why they don't see results. But Regain, and she said, the men's one, because they kind of try and trick women into thinking they need their special one. She said, the men's one's perfect. Just start putting Regain on. And she said, you will see results.
Isn't that mad? So there we are. I'm on the Regain. Like Aidan from Sex and the City.
I'll tell you what. Has she not told you about Finasteride? No, what's that? I'm not on Finasteride, but men, a lot of men that I know are on Finasteride. And it's basically, yeah, like, and you see a huge amount, like Joe would have, like, you wouldn't even see Joe's eyes or anything. His hair would just grow everywhere. It's really good.
But I don't know if it's just for men, but I don't know why it would just be for men.
See, there is stuff about hormones and stuff. She was saying there's certain stuff you can take for hair growth, but if you get pregnant or you're trying, you know, you kind of have to come off it or the baby, I guess, will be covered in hair.
I thought you could get like, I know somebody, a girl that, a makeup artist I know, Christina, got this stuff like PORP, I think it was called, where she got little rollers in her head and they put stuff in it.
Yeah. So we discussed all those options, all those options. But now I have a scalp dermatologist. And we're going to stop getting any more receding and maybe even grow some of it back.

And he was like, about like the way you are. I was like, what do you mean? And he was like, I think that you need to have a test. I told you that. I'm going to do it. I will do it. Jump, jump, pop, pop, pop.
Joanne is on her, she's on her tirade of abusing Limebike. She sent me a video on Instagram of this girl crashing her Limebike. That looked painful. Crashing her Limebike into a bus. It's not the Limebike's fault.

Chapter 7: What advice does the podcast offer to listeners?
Yeah.
I feel our advice is balanced. I feel you dragged me down. And ill-informed.
Equally.
But there you go.
Eat and eat, Jo. I'm not as bad as Joanne. Desperate times and all that. Here we are. Joanne and I hear the word desperate and you'll just see us bowling through the door. We love it. We're here. It's our business strategy.
myself and my husband have been married for six years together for ten and we have two children in the last two years I've made good progress in my career and hence my wages have increased significantly well done to you my husband has a good job but his salary has been the same for the last several years either way we both have a very comfortable life lovely home and our kids have all they need and more
lovely we have separate bank accounts essential I don't think I'd I have a joint but I wouldn't I have to have my own and use our joint account for all our bills and joint expenses which we split 50-50 However, I would like to add that I happily pay for family holidays twice a year and almost everything the children need, clothing, school supplies, activities, etc.
We never know exactly what the other person gets paid, spends every month as our wages are paid into our personal accounts. It's never been an issue before.
Recently, we had a meeting with a financial advisor.
