Tue, 22 Apr 2025

Description

Welcome back to Father Knows Something! Real People. Real Stories. Real Dad advice with a dash of ADHD, and maybe a couple of millennials chiming in from time to time to add their takes. This weeks episode has dad, Justin, and Morgan talking through write-ins that have a bit of overthinking going on. We all can get in our heads sometimes, but we need to trust our guts and move forward in a way that makes us feel the best and most fulfilled. For example, you have to move forward and not overthink leaving a relationship that doesn't work right? Or what about dating in a place you're going to move away from? Going to need your help with these ones so be sure to comment!    Submit your write-in ! https://forms.gle/8G2e4ockyZLNoiuX7 Bonus Stories on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/fatherknows !! Our P.O. Chapter 1: What is the theme of this episode?

1.63 - 12.074 Pedro

that's really bad that's the intro that's very good i'm scared

26.448 - 36.49 Jerry

Hi, everybody. Welcome to this crazy episode of Father Knows Something. As you notice, that Pedro is not with us this evening, but he does want to come back.

0

36.73 - 39.111 Morgan

Does he? Honorable guest. Yes, that little man.

0

39.271 - 54.574 Jerry

Yes, he was very happy, and he really loved all the writings that you guys sent him with love, and he really was so excited to see them. And he made the thumbnail. And he did. He was so proud. He's actually going to send you back a paw print. Oh, yeah.

55.294 - 55.775 Listener (Aaron)

Nice.

56.135 - 61.079 Jerry

Because he said, you got Holly on the wall? I want a Pedro with a paw print.

61.259 - 64.642 Listener (Aaron)

He's got to put a lot more episodes in before he makes the wall. Okay.

64.682 - 65.323 Jerry

Yeah, that's true.

65.563 - 69.026 Listener (Aaron)

Yeah, you got to earn your spot. Holly did some time.

Chapter 2: How do I overcome driving anxiety?

1647.433 - 1663.845 Justin

I figured he must have ordered something online and forgot to update his shipping address because he can be irresponsible like that. I texted him a photo of the package and he replied saying he did need it and had forgotten to update the pre-saved address on the website.

1664.685 - 1688.626 Justin

I told him no problem and just to let me know when he's coming to pick it up and I'll leave it on my deck or in the mailbox for him. I figured there's no need for us to interact because of this. Well, it's now been 32 days. I followed up twice. The first time he said he'd come grab it on a Saturday, but he never showed. The second time I asked again when he'd be coming.

1689.167 - 1716.565 Justin

And according to red receipts, He saw the message immediately after I sent it, but he just didn't respond. It's now been almost a week since I sent that last text and still no response. He lives only 20 minutes away. So here's my question. Would I be an asshole if I just threw the package out at this point? Or should I suck it up, drive it over to him and drop it off just to be done with it?

0

1716.625 - 1717.066 Holly

Hell no.

0

1717.566 - 1736.637 Justin

Part of me feels petty throwing it away, and I also don't know if that'd be illegal since it's not my mail, but part of me feels like it's not my responsibility to drive it to him when he's the one who made the mistake. He's had plenty of time to come get it, and I'm tired of having it at my place. Would love to hear what you all think.

1737.179 - 1739.281 Jerry

Well, I have a great remedy.

1739.561 - 1739.861 Justin

Okay.

1740.682 - 1755.532 Jerry

Put it out by your front door. Tell them that tomorrow at 9 o'clock, I'm putting it at my front door. It's yours to pick up at 9 o'clock from that point on. If it's gone, not my problem. I want to know what's in the box. I don't give a shit what's in the box.

1755.652 - 1760.296 Listener (Aaron)

I do. After 30 days, it's abandoned property. It's yours. Open the box.
