A Walk Through the Woods
Today was the first day that I've really been excited through this whole process. It was the most optimistic we've been. We've, you know, we got a face to the person. We're going to get him.
Infamous
From Conned to Cupid I Part 3
They knew this guy way back. Their daughters went to school with his kids, and they found him persuasive. He would have Friday evening meetings, Jewish holiday, even the Jewish Sabbath, and they would talk about religious things they would present. In other community aspects, you know, he would come across as a person who was kind of one of us. Is he charming? He is described to me.
Infamous
From Conned to Cupid I Part 3
He won't talk to me. But he is described as energetic, eager, helpful, the kind of guy who volunteers, the kind of guy who takes the captain's hat on and helps.
Infamous
From Conned to Cupid I Part 3
You know, usually these people, when it's a person within the group, you know, whether whatever group it is, you know, it's somebody they've known a long time. It's somebody whose family hangs out with theirs, you know, is not going to necessarily put himself in this position where they will be, they will cause their friends losses.

A Holiday Message
Hey, I just wanted to pop on here for a second because I know the holidays, although they're a wonderful time for many, can be very hard for some. Not everybody has a loved one to be near during this time, and everything you look at is a reminder of that. Some are missing loved ones that have passed. It's just a reminder that not all of us are so lucky, you know?
Sword and Scale
A Holiday Message
Episode 10 of Sword and Scale Television will be about a young woman named Egypt Covington. Don't look that up. You're going to ruin it. But I promise you this. It's easily the best work we've ever done, and you're not going to want to miss it. Then we'll have a Plus episode on January 5th, followed by a regular episode the following week for Plus members.
Sword and Scale
A Holiday Message
And then that'll kick off our Season 12 schedule. So, sit tight. We'll be back before you know it. I know there's a lot of people out there, believe it or not, that are comforted by the stupid sound of my voice and the stupid stories we tell here. And us going away for a little while during this time is not easy. But I promise you, you are not alone. You're not. You're simply not.
Sword and Scale
A Holiday Message
Not all of us have the means, and many during this time lose the will. So I just wanted to pop on here for a second and say that. If you're having a hard time this Christmas, you're most definitely not alone. By no means are you alone. I don't know if that helps. I don't know if any of this helps. But if you want to call in to our call-in line, please feel free. We have that set up 24-7.
Sword and Scale
A Holiday Message
You can call in from anywhere. You can Skype to Sword and Scale, all one word, or call in 954-889-6854. And that's a plus one in the front of that if you're outside the U.S. I listen to every single one of those phone calls, by the way. I may not be able to return them all, but I do listen. Every single call. So you're not alone.
Sword and Scale
A Holiday Message
And if you think you've passed some sort of arbitrary line and you think you may need a little help, a little real help, please call the Crisis Lifeline. Just dial 988 on your phone. Please, don't be alone this Christmas. You don't have to be. For the rest of you, we'll be back before you return your last Christmas present. And no, that's not the very next day, you weird Canadians.
Sword and Scale
Episode 288
Did you ever hear Aiden discuss having a certain plan that he wanted to carry out? And not maybe specifically to a certain person, but did he ever discuss in detail, like, this is how I would do something, or this is what I want to do?
Sword and Scale
Episode 288
They were hanging out at the north. They snuck out sometime in the middle of the night and were hanging out at the north. And then the two boys went home and they said they were going to go home. But she was going to meet this 22-year-old guy that I guess she buys babe stuff from or that 23-year-old dealer or 22-year-old plug, whatever that means. But I don't know who that guy was.

Episode 288
Describe to me what takes place at the back of these trails, as far as your understanding of it. What are these? People do drugs.
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
We, the jury in the above entitled case, find the defendant, Thomas William Randolph, guilty of first-degree murder. We get in and everyone says guilty, and we probably could have gotten it done within 10 minutes. But we were so afraid of making the wrong decision. We wanted to be so careful because it is somebody's life on the line.
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
No, because if they hadn't mentioned the Utah case at all, we still would have felt the same. The evidence of this case alone Absolutely.

Episode 281
What did you make of the fact when you heard he was acquitted the first time?
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
I wasn't going to judge 12 other people. I don't know what they heard, what they didn't hear. They're finding him not guilty. They found him not guilty. I accept that.
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
Had they known. I have to guess they didn't know what they needed to know.

Episode 281
It comes time where you're actually in the room and you have to deliberate, okay, are we really going to put him to death? Is it really worthy of that? It's so daunting.

Episode 281
Tell me about the different testimony from the different people. His side, his mom, his daughter, his son, did that have any of that?
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
Not a lot. The mother? would be the only one from his side that gave me any sort of emotional connection.
Sword and Scale
Episode 281
I feel like we all absolutely made the right decision. I think we're all very confident in it. And it is a really big relief.

Please watch your children. There's a lot of Christopher Whitakers out here. There's a lot of Christopher Whitakers out here. They're watching as I speak.

Episode 290
I wanted life without the possibility of parole, but I respect whatever the jury and the judge has come up with. I prefer him to sit there forever. You can sit on death row forever, but you're isolated. I want this man to experience hell on earth before he experiences hell in the afterlife.
Sword and Scale
Episode 290
All we're doing is watching, just making sure that they get from one bus to another. I'll be out here every day to the end of the school year until they find some other way to get those babies to school safe.

Episode 290
Community is out here, and we didn't forget about you. We're sorry that this happened on our watch, and we don't want this to happen again.

So there have been clashes over that, right? It was here that three of Bill Voller's attackers grew up and lived. It's a desperately poor community, dependent on the jobs provided by farmers.

I think the only compromise was the reduction from 19 floors to 15 floors. I think we all felt that 15 floors is too high. I think in the context of Princess Way it's too high. Marketfield Way is a separate area and Princess Way is historically lower and so we thought it was wrong.

You accept that obviously a brownfield site is an ideal place to build houses. but I don't think it was an appropriate style. It wasn't right for the rest of the town because the height, and also it wasn't really, I think, respecting sort of the more traditional nature of the town. We felt that it was changing the character to something which was more impersonal.

Yes, and I think we all recognise the need for affordable housing, and we need to be able to accommodate that for people in Redhill, and that's obviously a very important point. It didn't provide that. So I think anything in the future needs to consider that.

I think there's a great community spirit. It has been amazing to see how many people have been so passionate about this and how many people in Redhill have very definite views about how they would like to see Redhill. They all want a better town. They like the people around them. They want to make the town successful and I think inspirational for the future.

I detected a little bias in one of the last questions, question eight. It's slightly implied that the council wasn't necessarily feeling whole-hearted in maintaining and reintroducing the Harlequin.

Although we have the light, which I feel appeals to family groups and a younger population, people the thing one misses so much with the harlequin was the entertainment or even intellectual stimulation from the outside rather than a cinema center with one bowling alley which was a great disappointment i thought we were going to have something like crawley

Outrage and exposure halts Trump's plans for Social Security service cuts
My dad and I have experienced several generations of illnesses. My mother died of breast cancer. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and my grandmother died of breast cancer. And my fraternal grandmother died of pulmonary disease. and so on and so on, other family members, ovarian cancer. So we are directly affected in this community.

I've also had genetic testing for breast cancer, my mother, my sister, and myself, and all of them came back negative. Wow, so it's not a DNA. It's not a DNA, correct. It's environmental.

Wow. I have several family members that have died, passed away of cancer. Some of them are still living. One of my family members, she's on the list for heart transplant, two of them. One family member on the west bank of the river from Lucy in Edgard. He just had his lungs. He had a lung transplant about a year ago. My mother, she passed away. A lot of people going to dialysis centers.

I remember growing up on East 30th Street. And you remember the days we could sleep with our windows open? Well, a lot of mornings we woke up with this awful smell in the house. We didn't know what it was. Oh, it was just a release from DuPont. We didn't know what chemical we were breathing while we were sleeping. It was in the bed sheet. It was in your closet, in the clothes in the closet.

The five parish area that's called Cancer Alley, it is now 92% black. Wow. And it's got about 250 petrochemical plants in that one little 80-mile area of that river, the river between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. That's called Cancer Alley.

Well, I don't know. That's going to depend largely on the people here. If we let them have their way, they will kill us all. We will die here. We are now trying to regroup so we can find out exactly how we have to deal with this situation. What is obvious to us is the destruction. The government has now officially abandoned us, has officially thrown us to the wolves. That's what they've done.

I think Trump is doing exactly what Trump said he was going to do. And I don't think we have enough money here for him to care about what's going on with us. He cares about the wealthy people, the people that paid, I mean, the people that were elected to these positions that he put in place. And if there was some way that we can make money off environmental justice for him, he would prioritize it.

They do not care. It's about what they can make money off of. And they can't make money off of this.

And DEI has nothing to do with the facts and the fact that this company, Dinka, was actually breaking the law. They are guilty of breaking the Clean Air Act. They put us in jeopardy. We are burying family members every week. People are suffering 20 and 30 years before they pass. That's real. That's real. We live a life every day wondering what's going to happen at our next doctor's visit.

Our communities here are hurting Native Americans from all over the valley in Mesa to remember 14 year old Emily Pike, who went missing late in January and found dead on February 14th off Highway 60 northeast of Globe. Authorities found her body dismembered. They're investigating it as murder. Pike's aunt, remembering the joy she was,

Pike was part of the San Carlos Apache tribe, her death highlighting a troubling trend. Native American women go missing and are murdered at a much higher rate than those of other populations.
