It's not easy reading. It is very, very well written and thoughtfully put together. It is a novel. There is plenty of things that are goofy about the book, the overindulgence in the material and the flesh, the lack of a belief in the eternal and the divine, the worship of... let's just say immediate gratification.
However, despite the fact that we do not agree with all of her views, she was an atheist after all, and a much more libertarian fundamentalist than we are. She was a supremely gifted writer and understood the left-wing mind better than almost any other author of the last 100 years.
