Hey, guys, so Smart List Media has a new show coming out. It's called Staying Alive. It's awesome. It's hosted by Adam Pally and John Grabus. Sorry, Gabrus.

0

18.768 - 19.488 Adam Pally

Gabrus.

0

19.768 - 22.429 Sean Hayes

I changed the R and the A. I don't know. It's something you do all the time.

0

22.449 - 24.489 Adam Pally

Please, I do it. That's fine.

0

24.509 - 29.95 Jon Gabrus

Gabrus. Also, there is something garbus and garbled. There's something garbage and looking at John.

30.03 - 31.791 Adam Pally

It's like there's something that you want to just like say.

31.811 - 32.991 Sean Hayes

There's a lot of work going on there. Yeah.

33.211 - 34.072 Adam Pally

Mons pubis.

Chapter 2: What inspired Jon Gabrus and Adam Pally to start Staying Alive?

35.152 - 50.441 Sean Hayes

By the way, we can talk about that whole episode. So it premieres Thursday, April 24th, which is just around the corner. And new episodes released every Thursday. You guys, I'm so happy you guys are doing this. It's very exciting. Please tell, because I fucking do a horrible job. Please tell us what it's about.

0

51.702 - 60.229 Adam Pally

Look, this is so exciting. You are one of our pod fathers. I guess in our contract, you requested we call you that. So we're so excited to be part of this.

0

60.249 - 61.81 Sean Hayes

But I'm acting like it's not in the contract.

0

62.09 - 64.092 Adam Pally

Oh, right. Sorry. We're supposed to keep that up, too.

0

64.172 - 68.756 Jon Gabrus

Now I can call you Daddy in another frame of reference.

69.645 - 71.367 Adam Pally

Now I call you daddy in front of other people.

71.567 - 93.089 Jon Gabrus

If I had a dollar. Okay, yeah, tell us. So basically, John and I have been best friends and comedy partners for a long, long time. And we hosted a travel show called 101 Places to Party Before You Die with Sean Max. Yes, it's awesome. And we like to indulge and we kind of live by this lifestyle of like when in Rome and oftentimes that... Rome is Las Vegas.

93.129 - 102.213 Jon Gabrus

So it's like we tend to get down and we find ourselves kind of growing up a little bit and thinking, well, we're in our early 40s now.

102.493 - 104.454 Adam Pally

And like you do have to counteract.

Chapter 3: How do Jon and Adam describe their approach to health and wellness?

106.634 - 108.275 Adam Pally

Are you mid 40s? Are you calling yourself mid 40s?

0

108.295 - 114.457 Sean Hayes

We're the exact same age. I just turned 29. That's how the term mid started, right?

0

114.657 - 116.118 Adam Pally

I'm emphasis on the mid over here.

0

116.318 - 123.872 Jon Gabrus

I'm tech availed to play Sam Freed. I'm on ice. I'm on ice. I'm on ice for Sam Free. Put a pin in me.

0

124.612 - 126.733 Adam Pally

I'm trying to play Jack Black's before pictures.

130.414 - 135.055 Jon Gabrus

So we took an interest. We both have an interest in staying alive as long as we can.

Chapter 4: What changes do the hosts notice as they get older?

135.395 - 154.421 Sean Hayes

It's so good. You know, it's such a thing that all of a sudden you find yourself talking about, right? Everybody. Everybody. Right, in your 20s and 30s, you just party, you eat whatever you want, you drink whatever you want, you go anywhere, you do anybody you want, like anything that brings like pleasure or whatever. And then all of a sudden you find yourself- With lower back pain.

0

154.681 - 166.705 Sean Hayes

Yeah, yeah, exactly. You're like, you talk to your, hey man, what's going on with it? Do you have this problem too? Like, does it hurt when you pee? Or like whatever it is, right? And you start talking about it. I noticed that too. It's like, yeah.

0

166.725 - 185.29 Adam Pally

Part of the impetus to the show was we wanted to talk to health and wellness professionals to learn more and bring that information to other people. But also once you're a certain age, all your conversations with even comics, if you're not shit talking another comic, the thing you're talking about is like, have you started taking fish oil yet? Are you doing vitamin C tablets?

0

185.35 - 194.294 Sean Hayes

What are you streaming and what's wrong with you physically? Yeah. Yes, exactly. What are you watching? How are your streams, your piss and your movies? Right, exactly.

0

194.374 - 195.934 Jon Gabrus

Weak, all of them weak.

196.215 - 196.835 Adam Pally

Dribbly.

197.075 - 207.019 Sean Hayes

Dribbly. So can you tell us like one of the things that was the most, I know you probably get asked this a lot, but one of the most eye-opening things are the things that you implement now more than ever.

Chapter 5: What topics does Staying Alive cover related to health and wellness?

207.259 - 223.587 Jon Gabrus

Well, I mean, it runs the gamut from like, you know, we had an immunologist on from the NIH who told us one of the simple things you can do is add, I'm going to say it wrong, but cruciferous vegetables into your diet.

0

225.808 - 234.933 Adam Pally

And now we use that word like just to kind of be big dog you a little bit, Sean, but that means broccoli and cauliflower. We're so happy to have learned it that we bring it up in every conversation.

0

235.073 - 246.438 Jon Gabrus

She was like, those are the vegetables that are really worth your- What do you mean? Like if you just eat those, you're good? I mean, they're nutrient dense, nutrient dense, and they're worth it to add to your diet.

0

246.538 - 261.746 Jon Gabrus

If you're not eating them, get a general physician would say, OK, like if you're ordering Chinese food, chicken and broccoli is not a bad order because you're getting broccoli, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, very good. It's simple things, you know, on that level.

0

261.886 - 277.517 Adam Pally

But then we also had a friend on, Elna, who told us that salvia can transport you to the quantum realm and you can experience true formlessness. Now, I don't know if I'm going to bring that into my routine, my health routine, adding rips of salvia. But this is the kind of information you can get at Staying Alive.

278.978 - 298.139 Sean Hayes

I love that. It's everything I'm for because I need this. The other day, literally just a week ago, Will Arnett said to me, I said, he goes, what'd you do yesterday? And I was like, well, I had this lunch with an agent of mine and then, and he goes, lunch? And I go, yeah, I like to keep my dinners free. And he goes, from what? Vegetables? Because I never, I never eat them. Yeah. I never eat them.

298.179 - 305.827 Adam Pally

No, it's crazy that I'm in my super late 20s and I'm being told, eat more vegetables, and I'm taking that as like, holy shit, I haven't really considered that.

305.867 - 312.053 Jon Gabrus

Yeah, I mean, I just add it in juice. That's just like the way that I'm getting it is now like in a juice form.

312.874 - 314.856 Adam Pally

I stuff a cauliflower into my blunt.

Chapter 6: What are some practical health tips shared on the podcast?

349.259 - 354.902 Adam Pally

And we are the co-hosts of SmartList Media's new podcast called Staying Alive.

0

354.942 - 360.565 Jon Gabrus

That's right. Staying Alive, our new health and wellness podcast that is neither for the healthy or well.

0

360.805 - 363.047 Adam Pally

Well, it's maybe for health by health.

0

365.568 - 372.672 Jon Gabrus

We'll have guests like our friend, actor Jerry O'Connell. Pally, you are looking good. Thank you. I've seen you not looking good, and you're looking good. Thank you, JR.

0

372.692 - 374.873 Adam Pally

You're not the first guest to say, I've seen you look worse.

376.667 - 388.29 Jon Gabrus

Comedian Paul Scheer. I love the cold plunge. I found a lot of success. Do you have one in your house? I do. I also flooded my house with it, but that's why it's outside now. It's outside. Ketamine therapist Dr. Steven Radowitz.

388.59 - 392.751 Adam Pally

It's called spiritual herd immunity. Now when you're in this place, I start to see through those things.

392.991 - 400.152 Jon Gabrus

I believe in spiritual herd immunity because I'm a spiritual anti-vaxxer. Yeah, yeah. So I think that that's kind of the only way.

400.592 - 403.573 Adam Pally

Eggo Wotum talking to us about how she hates breakfast.

Chapter 7: What unusual wellness advice has Staying Alive explored?

435.138 - 435.759 Sean Hayes

And I'm a road hard 34.

0

436.079 - 443.181 Jon Gabrus

And I'm not that hard and 43. And so many more, so many more.

0

443.201 - 446.423 Adam Pally

You know, Adam and I, we may not be wellness experts, but I can tell you this.

0

446.563 - 455.047 Jon Gabrus

We are curious freaks who love to talk about this shit. And we've done enough harm to our bodies to know that now's the time to maybe make a change.

0

455.367 - 459.65 Adam Pally

Yeah, we can't say we can make a U-turn in our lives, but at least we can pump the brakes a little.

459.81 - 483.553 Jon Gabrus

And maybe make a left. Hey, two wrongs don't make a left. Right. Staying Alive premieres April 24th anywhere you get your podcasts.
