The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast
Allie Schnacky and Natasha Bure - Being a Christian In Public
Tue, 18 Feb 2025
What does it take to navigate being a Christian with all the pressures of social media? Candace says, "I will never be good or perfect, but I'm saved, washed clean, before God's judgment." This conversation is a reminder that faith is not about flawless living, but about embracing a journey of growth. Natasha says questioning her own faith journey was pivotal: "Am I doing a good job? Like, am I being a good Christian?" Candace, Allie and Natasha share several tips for following Jesus and having a public life: Be Genuine: Share your story, including the ups and downs, to provide a realistic view of faith. This transparency can inspire and comfort others who may be struggling. Engage Thoughtfully: Respond to comments and messages with kindness and empathy. This reflects the love of Christ and fosters a welcoming community. Reflect on Motivation: Before posting, consider why you're sharing. Make sure your motivation aligns with your values and isn’t just for validation or approval. Set Boundaries: Decide what aspects of your life you want to keep private. It's important to protect your personal space while still being open and relatable. Encourage Others: Use your platform to uplift and support others in their faith journeys. on how we feel about all of these topics from today's point of view, like from our culture today, because it's very different from when I grew up. And today we're going to talk about being a Christian and being a Christian publicly. And, you know, Natasha, when we were talking about different topics that we wanted to share on the podcast, you actually brought this one up.
You were like, I I there's a need to talk about what a Christian looks like, particularly from social media. Because I think there's so many people out there that think, oh, Christians are so perfect and it actually is overwhelming. And I don't even know how to start or where to find faith or do all the things that they're doing.
And so I'm just going to leave it behind and I'll go find down some other path. So that's what we're talking about today. And I'm going to start off with a question because when you raised that, I thought, you know, someone wrote this to me recently. I answered it on my Instagram every once in a while when I'm on a flight. I'll do a little Q&A.
