For now, here is a preview of this week's episode focused on the horror movie Veronica. Veronica. Cut to class. Veronica's in class and they're learning about solar eclipses when she gets a note from her friend, who we will learn is named Rosa, asking, do you have it?

Chapter 2: What happens during the classroom scene?

32.916 - 50.241 Christian

The teacher starts talking about the cultural history surrounding eclipses and says that in a lot of cultures, sacrifices tend to be done during solar eclipse. The class breaks to go to the roof to watch the eclipse, but Veronica and Rosa have other plans. They go to a room to hide to let crowds filter out and Rosa says she's inviting another girl, Diana.

veronica is displeased the three of them head to the basement and veronica pulls out an encyclopedia of the occult and i need that book the encyclopedia of the occult yes i'm just as someone that works with you i'm gonna say you don't

Chapter 3: What occult practices do the characters attempt?

67.591 - 70.993 John Smith

Yeah, don't bring us in on any sort of rituals that you forgot how to end, okay?

0

71.033 - 89.265 Christian

I don't know any mantras, and I don't sing any songs. Yeah. We learn that they are attempting to contact spirits. Veronica pulls out a picture of the person she wants to contact, and she pulls out the photo that we saw her looking at earlier, and we learn that it is her father who has passed away. Rosa says you have to have a personal item of the person you want to contact.

the three of them begin the seance with the ouija board and they ask if they're talking to veronica's dad diana is not taking it seriously she laughs and takes her finger off the glass which makes rosa snap at her and she takes her finger off and as it's just veronica the glass immediately starts shuffling very quickly across the ouija board

thought this was really cool like cutting back to the eclipse and then what was going on here yeah i thought it was awesome i also kept saying to myself how did you let these thing i'll trust these little kids and like not look at it with their with their eyeballs instead of like a film right don't worry their eyes are already burned they're looking through photo negatives which isn't gonna do you anything right i was like wait your eyes are burned

0

Chapter 4: How does the seance unfold in the movie?

127.972 - 139.917 John Smith

Yeah, I was like, wait, how does that work? I was like, I don't think that works. I Googled it because I was like, what? And no, it's not a thing. Don't do that. You heard it here first. Don't do that. Don't do that.

0

139.937 - 140.537 John Smith

Don't do that.

0

Chapter 5: What are the consequences of the characters' actions?

140.677 - 155.904 John Smith

Especially since it's like exposed. It's already processed. So a lot of the just raw negative is translucent. I don't know, man. Get yourself some eclipse glasses and rock out. It's the 90s. You got those, okay?

0

156.744 - 166.932 Christian

I did like the one little girl as you're looking at the students. She has like those old school 3D glasses with the one red lens and one blue lens. And the nun's like, what is that? What are you doing? It's not going to do anything.

0

166.973 - 184.107 John Smith

That doesn't work. Look, it stands out though. Look, I can touch it. I really like too, as they're doing the Ouija board and you see it throughout the movie and I don't think it's campy. I don't think it crosses that line because they handle it really well. The frame ramping where they speed things up and it gives it that uncanny jittery kind of quick move.

184.787 - 195.138 John Smith

where it's just a little too fast, where the hand's moving or later in the movie someone looks too fast. I love that because it was just enough to feel off. Yeah. And add some eeriness.

0

195.956 - 201.759 Jane Doe

Yeah, they did that a lot when she was like in her bedroom laying down and stuff. I was like, I was like, oh, the frame rate changed.

203.72 - 224.088 Christian

So the three resume the seance and the glass starts moving again. And yes, during this, we're intercutting between the seance and the students on the roof watching the eclipse. At one point, the glass starts burning the other two. And so Rosa and Diana take their fingers off. But Veronica seems to remain unfazed. and we focus on a blind nun who is on the roof watching the eclipse as well.

224.748 - 240.352 Christian

As the eclipse completes, fully happens, I don't know how to describe it, as the moon fully passes in front of the sun and we get the complete and total eclipse, the glass shatters and Veronica's finger starts bleeding, starts dripping blood onto a picture of the sun that is on the board.

240.712 - 246.634 Christian

The other two start panicking, freaking out, yelling for her to stop, but Veronica continues to remain unfazed, almost like she's in a trance.

247.154 - 272.28 Christian

candles that they're using tip over so they lose their light and they bust out some flashlights they look around see that the ouija board is broken in half and veronica is gone rosa sees her uh in another spot in the room on the ground seemingly unresponsive but her mouth is moving but we can't hear anything she's saying rosa leans down to try to to hear if she's telling her anything and she stands up in fear and then veronica suddenly shoots up roaring
