The term gender has also been removed from all USCIS guidance, replaced by sex, and officials say the change improves data accuracy, security, and interagency compatibility.
It will apply to green cards, naturalization papers, and other key immigration documents. A Homeland Security official told me that the move reflects common sense and prioritizes national security over ideology.

Nashville police released their final report on the Covenant school shooting two years after the deadly incident. The newly released documents reveal the attack was being plotted for up to five years in advance. The 2023 attack by a trans-identifying teen girl left three third graders and three adults dead at the Christian school.
The report states that the shooter did not leave a dedicated manifesto, but did leave behind a cache of writings and documents going back to 2017. Those documents included detailed fantasies about committing a Columbine inspired shooting. Documents also described fantasies about killing her father and her psychiatrist, as well as shooting up a different school in Nashville.
A federal judge has dismissed the corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams with prejudice, ending the indictment permanently. The DOJ has asked for the case to be dropped without prejudice, citing immigration policy concerns, but Judge Dale Ho rejected that argument.
Adams was accused of soliciting illegal contributions and gifts from foreign nationals, which his attorney called baseless. The mayor addressed the case dismissal in front of the Gracie Mansion earlier today.
