This week’s episode is from our live show in beautiful Portland that happened on April 13. David and Rob share stories from their time in Portland, before turning their attention to Bigfoot - talking to Cliff Barackman, the man behind the North American Bigfoot Center. Cliff has been doing bigfoot field research since 1994. His expeditions have taken him to 46 states and five continents in search of evidence supporting the existence of undiscovered hominoids worldwide. From there, Flightless Bird turns its focus to the urban beavers of Portland, talking with Matt Guziejka, a beaver researcher from Portland State University. Matt has spent the last few years knee-deep in data and also mud studying how people feel about beavers living in cities. David and Rob then meet Philip Bouchard, the man responsible for taking the Oregon Trail video game mainstream. Plus, a special live performance from Suzzallo. What do David and Rob think about Portland?
That's what you get when you work at Tesla. A third employee, who had a laser pointed at his eyes days earlier, left the showroom to avoid it happening again. Davis, 27, not to be confused with David, is accused of two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. So laser pointer is a weapon here in Portland.
Two counts of attempting to commit a felony and misdemeanor charges of menacing and reckless endangerment. He has been released and he is our hero. If he's here, beers on me after the show. Thank you. Mystery Portland man leaving biohazard substance in suburban recycling bins. It's a lot of pee. There was multiple pee articles that you had put for this. So many.
A northeast Portland neighborhood is grappling with a mystery man who left bottles and bottles of urine in their recycling bins, dropping the containers off in the middle of the night. Alex Van Duyn said that he noticed his blue recycling bin hadn't been picked up, so he went to open the blue bin. You can see what's coming. Lo and behold, there was a deposit of gallons of urine.
And there were six gallons, Van Duyn told the outlet. He shared that the bottles are considered biohazards and won't be picked up by recycling. He said he moved the bins, but the mystery man simply put his bottles in a different bin. Although doorbell cameras have caught video of the man driving up and leaving the bottles, they haven't been able to clear a shot of the license plate.
When he filed a police report, Van Doon said he was told it was only considered a crime because the urine was placed in the recycling bins, not the garbage bins.
I love... This happened to me. What? I had a neighbor bring dog shit into our recycling bin. He walked by his bins across the street and put it in our bin. That's fine. It was the recycling bin, though.
Oh, I see. Dog shit in the recycling bin. That's no good. No. But not dog piss. No. That's fine. So there's apparently, like, a bizarre number of strip clubs in your city. Yeah. Always tip your strippers. But this went bad. Portland manager covering up to being stabbed by a stripper in the back four times. Just being stabbed once in the back is so intense. Four times.
Duncan Allen has worked as a DJ at Casa Diablo Vegan Strip Club. That's confusing. Vegan? Don't understand that. For over a decade, and he said he's seen a thing or two during this time. However, never did he think he would leave work in an ambulance with stab wounds.
I was on my computer getting some songs ready, and next thing I knew, I felt like a 500-pound man had punched me in the back as hard as humanly possible. So I turned around, expecting there'd be a huge dude about to fight me, and it was a stripper holding a knife. As shocked as he was, he knew he had to stay calm. Anyway, it goes on for a long time.
