And come to find out afterwards, the oldest told me, she's like, no, she gave me a couple of pills that it helped for the pain. And I didn't like the way it made me feel. I don't even, I don't know what it was. And she's like, so I didn't even know. I didn't like the way it made me feel. I didn't know where I was. Like it just, it was making me just feel weird. And I was just, it made me shake.

There was a lot of sports that she wasn't allowed to play because, oh, she had, you know, these restrictions because she might have seizures and the heat might make her have them or she gets hit just right. You know, granted she still has some, she's now a teenager, but she didn't get to experience going and staying the night at friend's house and having those sleepovers, slumber parties and everything like that. Then apparently she moves offices, so I get a new one. The first one I had, she would stay in contact.

And that's when I really got in touch with Detective Weber, who I will say, first off, he's a godsend. Love that man to death. He contacted me the next day after all this came out. And he's telling me, you know, hey, watch for these types. This is the type of behaviors they'll do. You know, this is what she said and everything. And I'm still still in a shock at this point.

It just kept pushing out and kept pushing out. And I'm like, hey, why do we keep pushing out here? And I was giving him names that people that were close and I thought may be beneficial. They had information and come to find out he wasn't. I was finding out he wasn't talking to these people. And so at one point I had had enough. So we'd got her. She went in there and. She open pled guilty.

They'd offered her a plea deal of 10 years. I knew she wouldn't take that. She thinks she's walking away with probation.

I think so. She said no to the plea and she went in and said, I'm guilty. But to open plea, she didn't want a jury trial. So she pretty much open pled guilty to the judge where once they do that, they do what they call a PSI. Pre-sentencing investigation.

So they pretty much, they have another investigator go through a context, everybody, and he writes down, he's neither for the defendant or the victim. He's for the judge. And what he does, he puts this story together for the judge and he's not trying to make one side look better than the other. I'm not going to use his name, but he's a godsend too. That guy really goes above and beyond for his job, for the work he does, and he put in the time and the effort.

So she was being charged for a class A felony, first degree felony. And then that was on the youngest one. And then the other twin and the oldest one were each a misdemeanor.

She gets what she gets from that point. And so I was like, no, I've had enough. I was mad and I called his boss and his boss, you know, reassured me. He's like, no, he's very he's very into this case.

You know, he comes to me asking about it all the time. But I'm going to get involved on this one, too. And I'll sit in on it. From that point on, he was the only one I talked to. Fast forward, when we had the court date for the sentencing, the other DA that I had wouldn't even say a word to me. We went in two or three days before that.

You could tell very, very clearly because... Two or three days before that court date, we went in for the pre-hearing to go over like, you know, everything. He didn't say one word to me then. He wouldn't even look at me. And when I left, he didn't even, the other two shook my hands. The investigator for the DA's office and the DA I was dealing with now, they both shook my hands.

She was trying to take her out of state to Florida on a vacation when she didn't even have a car, doesn't have a job. Number two, you're not supposed to be around kids. The boyfriend helped out, helped her get the cops pick her up. And I get after the DA's office. I'm like, are we filing for a bond revocation? Like, this is the second time. Like, you just going to keep, okay.

So she's sitting in there and we go to this pre-hearing meeting, me and the oldest. Now, backtrack, the oldest doesn't, the dad's never been there. So I'm in the process of adopting her. We go in there and they're like, hey, we're going to talk to her first. You sit over here and then we're through with her. We'll talk to you. I get it. They didn't want us in there at the same time.

There's two prescription bottles in there, both of them, which she had gotten filled, washed at the Cook's pharmacy while she was in there. One was a 30 count and one was a 60 count. The 30 count was empty. And I think the 60 count had like, I think I want to say 15 pills left that disappeared in three, three and a half days.

So we'll just keep moving up the chain. Say everybody's boss, yeah. So I get off the phone and I call the DA I've been talking to and doesn't answer. Five minutes later, he calls me back.

So come to find out after hearing stories, the latest boyfriend that she had, the most recent one, she had told them that she was a trauma nurse at JPS, had shown them pictures of like ER room with some blood and stuff in there and said this is one of the rooms that she had worked. You know, this is why they were cleaning it up.

But... She told them that her kids were with me for the summer. She got them back August 1st. That's what she was telling everybody, is that I had them for the summer. Told them that once they started to catch on a little bit, that... Everything was going to be wiped clean. It was all my fault. I was the one that did everything.

That's really how it felt. I mean, I had to fight them the whole time to stay after it.

So I tried to go there. And they're like, why do you want a meeting? This is your DA. And I'm like, I know that's my DA, but I want to talk to this guy about how it's going and problems I'm having. Okay, I will have them get in contact with you. I have not to this day heard anything.

And she tells me, we get to talk and, you know, the twins are in the backseat asleep and she's up here talking to me and she's like, we get in the whole subject and about the whole CPS thing.

And while she was gone, the youngest had gotten into the medicine. And I was like, yeah, that was the story.

She was acting really strange, like out of it and just doing crazy things. And then that's when Jessica saw the pill bottle and was like, oh, crap. And she's like, that's when she told me I needed to tell them this story.

And we went over to the grandmother's house just because uncle and dad were cooking burgers. And so the oldest one, you know, supposedly the oldest one had started cooking. Her time of the month. So she's she tells me later on, you know, that that's not what happened, that Jessica was wanting some of the grandmother's headache medicine.

And so she had the oldest one go in there and take to the other back to her grandmother's bathroom. take pills and bring them back to her. And I'm like, oh, so she had you still in medicine for her too. And she's like, yeah, she tried to have me do that a lot. And I was like, I'm so sorry, baby. Like, I'm so sorry. I feel like, and at that moment is what, when it really hit me hard.

And, you know, Weber is, you know, he's the one that helped talk me through it. And he's like, they're such master manipulators and narcissists that they are very good at covering it up. And you, you can't be upset at yourself.

And that's what it boils down to. But the longer it went on, the more clear I got and the more I just wanted to really to this day, I want to do everything that I can to help bring awareness. Around three and a half years old, the youngest one started showing signs, you know, like it was like she was slowing down. She wasn't, she was never really super vocal. You know, I started noticing things more and more with Jessica and I'm like, hey, The rougher we got, the more she started almost like backpedaling to try to find things. Like she came up with that she had cancer.

The crazy thing was is her mom had actually had cancer. And so, looking back on it, it was like... You you're so messed up because like your mom actually had it and you ended up making up this fake thing of having. And I mean, she was covered in bruises head to toe. And I'm like, something's wrong. And then that's when it came out. You know, hey, she went to the doctor and she had leukemia.

One day I get a video from her and she'd send it to my mom, too, of this episode. And growing up, you know, never being fully around somebody that had had seizures other than her older sister. But I'd only witnessed a very glimpse of that also of the older one. So when I see it on the video, my assumption is, hey, she's shaking and stuff. I think that's a seizure.

They want me to take her in when you get home because she's had a couple today and she's real lethargic right now. okay, I'm rushing home. She takes her up there. They put her to sleep and everything, which that was hard to witness the first time because she started shaking a little bit, you know, when she went to sleep. And so 72 hours, they go back in, take it all out or take it all off. Next day, they say it's going to take like two days to get the full readings of everything for the doctor to look at it. She calls me when they get it.

She said they saw a few little ones on there because we had a button every time we thought we'd see one, we had to hit it. You know, we're supposed to hit it. And she was supposed to, I believe, log it all. Also, every time she thought she saw one in that 72 hours. And supposedly she was doing all that on her phone.

And then finally, I was able to have a free weekend when she had a free weekend. And so then we finally just made plans to meet up. And I said it was about three months after we started chatting that we finally met up. I came up to Fort Worth.

So I'm thinking, okay, now they know there's a few. She's like, hey, they said they're gonna call her and they call in this medicine to put her on to start. They wanna start on this low dose of the, I can't even remember what it was called. And a week or two later, This whole time, right before she got caught in June of 2022, April, May, I'm really on her.

I'm like, hey, we need to get with these doctors. I'm losing. I felt like I was losing my daughter. I felt like if this kept on, she was going to die. That's how much she was declining. She was pretty much a vegetable at home most of the time. She wanted to sleep all the time and just have an accident. Like we were going backwards, but she just didn't really talk.

She tells me, you know, that they're observing her and they move her up to this room that where they could have cameras on or watching her, you know, see how she reacts and stuff like that. They're running tests. I would get calls saying, hey, she's doing better. You know, she's starting to improve.

Then I'd get calls saying, hey, she went to, you know, she went to the bathroom and she came back in here. And now it's like been an hour or two and she's starting to go down. And I'm like, so she's up and down. Like, what are they thinking? She's like, they're wanting to run more tests. They just came and took more blood.

What are you talking about? She's like, they'll explain everything. I'm like, what's going on? Like, that's serious. How do I go from my daughter's up and down?

You're in here in the hospital with her to now see like what I need. I need some background. She said I gave the youngest one too much medicine. And I'm like, what do you mean you gave her too much medicine? I'm going back and forth with a text because she won't answer her phone. So I get a call from CPS and they're like, hello, is this Mr. Jones? I said, yes, it is.

And she's like, has Jessica reached out to you? I said, she texted me saying somebody from CPS was going to be reaching out to me. And, you know, I'm trying to figure out what she just said. She gave her too much medicine. She said she's been given her medicine when she didn't need it. And she's been overdosing her on it. She's been making her have these symptoms. And I'm like, what?

froze and I'm like whoa like it just caught me off guard like what do you mean like and come to find out you know she was giving her Benadryl that's all I knew of at that moment and she's like she's gonna be removed I need you to come you're gonna need to come up here to the hospital to stay with her the youngest so that you know, she's not, you know, or she'll be here by herself.

Really, she had to be supervised because one time when I was out of town for work, we'd been living with her aunt about a year, not even quite a year, eight, seven, eight months. I was out of town. I get a call from her saying, hey, I had to run to Dollar General. We were at the grandmother's house at the time. She said, hey, I had to run down the road to Dollar General.

And while I was gone, the youngest got a hold of some of my grandmother's Ambien. And so we're rushing her to the ER to get her stomach pumped. Well, because of that, the hospital has to report. So CPS is like, hey, since you left her with your grandmother and your grandmother isn't in the best of health. You're not making good judgment.

they were doing blood tests and they did one, it came back with Benadryl in the system and it came back, they did a second just to verify and there was still Benadryl. If it was like a one, you know, had given her some before she came in, It would have been out of system for the second one. So that's how they knew. So they started watching video.

And every time she would take her to the bathroom, she would carry her purse with her. So every time they would come out of the bathroom, 30 minutes to an hour later is when she'd start declining. So my I get her, you know, so I'm there that night. Next day, the next afternoon, we get to leave. I get her home. And from that point on, she just she kept getting better and kept getting better.

It wasn't on any medicine. It was a few days later, two days, I had to go up there and meet with, I had to take them all up to Cook's. The three girls, I had to take them, the oldest and the two youngest, up to Cook's to meet with, it's this doctor they have in there and she's checking them out, making sure, you know, like how they're doing.

She was on like, she was taking, dude, I want to say at times, I think it was like anywhere from five to seven pills. You know, I can't remember if it was morning and evening or per day. There's quite a few. We had the pill thing set out for each day.
