Thu, 27 Feb 2025
Happy Thursday!!!! You might have seen the lady TikTok who speaks to her baby like an adult (hahaha it’s been a fun week)… Harrison (the “man who stole that lady’s baby”) and I talk all about talking to your baby vs. baby talking and the reaction from the internet. Then, big life update: we’re moving! (MAYBE??!) We get into the renting vs. buying debate, what makes sense for us right now, and what we think our next steps are. ALSO - did you know the average age of a first time homebuyer is 38 years old?? Like.. we’re golden. Things we DMed sparks discussion on the California’s new child influencer laws and some of our childhood memories on vacation (spoiler alert: pyramids are NOT made out of sand & King Tut was real…). Plus we talk about why the new iPhone update might be ruining our lives. (Apple would summarize the description above as “Talking to babies about King Tut ruining lives” - BUT ACTUALLY like WHAT the heck are these summaries). As always, we LOVE YOU GUYS. Comment and tell me if you guys rent or own (I’m so curious and we literally have no idea what we’re gonna do!!!!) Chapter 1: How should you talk to your baby?
When I was pregnant, I always felt like, oh, I'm so alone. But then I was like, I'm not alone. There's somebody else in here. So I would talk to her.
It is cool to see like other people recognizing just like what an awesome mom you are.
We need to either buy this house or move. It's shit or get off the pot.
I think if we do buy, it's going to be an emotional decision over financial decision. When I look back at my childhood memories, they are in Egypt. They are in Hawaii. They are... How old were you?
did you see a pyramid i have a hairy chest should i shave my chest oh my god we need to talk about this okay ready let's start not at the beginning welcome back to two parents in a podcast harrison does not want to talk about the fact that he has a hairy chest right off the top so of course we're gonna talk about so he thinks that tate can't sleep on his chest without his shirt on because she might choke on the hair
Well, that's how I felt today. I felt like when she was sleeping on there, I was just nervous that like she'd suck in some hairs and then she'd start coughing. So I went and put a shirt on.
It's wild. Like we had some guys over here also fixing the AC and they like had some plastic down on the stairs. And I was like, what if someone's carrying her and they trip? Like just your mind goes to the craziest places when you have these kids, don't you think?
Yeah, I didn't even think that was an irrational thought. I went, yeah, I don't know.
I do think though that that would choke her. She had her first solid food yesterday. It was toilet paper. I looked over and I had some like Kleenex on the bed and she just like breaking it apart and she was eating it. And I was like, oh.

Chapter 2: What are the pros and cons of renting vs. buying a house?
That's like saying, I'm not a gossiper, but... It's like, well, I guarantee you're... Like the disclaimer.
So what, you're telling me a lie otherwise?
Right, the disclaimer.
Where my mind would naturally go is like work is just back in the swing of things.
Are you back? Because we're going to Expo West next week.
Oh, yes.
You guys, we're going to Orange County next week because Expo West is like this... It is awesome. It's basically this like super large... I'm trying to say like less... It's this super large, what is it called?
It's a convention center. It's a big trade show for food brands, beverage brands, consumer products brands as a whole.
But it's every single brand. You walk around, it's like Olipop, anything, you name it, they're there. Siete.

Chapter 3: What are California's new child influencer laws?
Every night there's all the banks host events, all the investors host events. And so you're running around from A to Z and it's definitely boondoggle, but...
Tate and I are going because we're going to go support dad launching his new brand that we'll talk about.
You were there last year and thank you very much for coming. And I obviously want you to come again. I really want her there. I really just want her to be a thing that every year she's been there from she's never missed one from when she was in the belly to year one.
She did go last year. I actually wore these white sweatpants. I remember I felt, I felt so sick. It took everything in me to go for like an hour. Yeah.
Maybe 15 minutes.
And what did I say to the U pin girl? So Harrison has this girl that works for her. She's so sweet. She said, I went to Serena. She said, where'd you say she went?
Um, so she said, I went to Penn and you, you said, oh, I went to, um, oh, I love Penn State.
And then... No, I said Penn State's good at volleyball.

Chapter 4: How can vacation memories shape childhood?
Okay. Thank you.
I said, oh, Penn State's so good at volleyball. My, one of my friends went there to play volleyball.
Okay. And then she was definitely just kind of like, yeah, that isn't the one, but she's just so nice that I don't think she said anything. I think I, I jumped in there and was like, yeah, different one, but...
Well, Penn State is good at volleyball, and UPenn, I guess, is good for academics.
And swimming. She was swimming there.
You know what happened again with my friend, Amanda, who lives here? It happened the other day.
She said I went to Penn. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and then I went to Penn State, and I was like, that's not the smart one, right? She was like, yeah, no. I was like, good.
Okay, we don't need to throw shade at Penn State here.

Chapter 5: What is the worst part about the new iPhone update?
Chapter 6: How to remember names and why is it important?
Glad you caught it right away.
Yeah, but I went over and she's like doing her little gummy smile and there was like white toilet paper in there and I was like, too late now. I didn't want to freak out, so I just let it go. I just said, okay, she's durable. She can do it.
Two idiots in a pod. Two idiots. We're back.
Back with another episode. All right. Well, what's going on with you this week? In a long pause. Somebody DM'd me and they said, I turn off the podcast when Harrison does long pauses. Pauses.
Well, I didn't know I was going to be asked that question. And the honest answer, also, I feel like people that say like, let me be honest with you, I feel like people that say that are liars.
That's like saying, I'm not a gossiper, but... It's like, well, I guarantee you're... Like the disclaimer.

Chapter 7: What are the benefits of content creation?
That's really cute. yeah um well one thing for me and i feel like you're gonna make me cut this is like it is i'm so proud of you as a mother and like i think you're such an amazing mom and so it's it is cool to see like other people recognizing just like what an awesome mom you are because and and i know like that you you find that awkward i love it i'm proud of you and
there's so many awesome moms i just love being a mom do you know tons of awesome moms there's no doubt but i'm very proud of thank you you as a mom i'm very proud of you as a dad and the other thing i will this is the one like note i will make on it is like when i got divorced i didn't know when i would be a mom if i would be a mom you know like this stage of life i was like question mark
And I like mom is truly my favorite title yet. And so I'm just really thankful for this phase. So that's that's a nice like little additive. Gosh, I just love that little girl. Like she's at the nanny share right now. And I just miss her. She's busy, though. She's drinking her bottle because there's two babies. And so they got this like bottle pillow.
He's busy.
no tate's busy she's so busy over there she's getting read to in spanish and english i mean she's got a fully booked day she's got milky time she's got to take it now i mean it's harrison said to me yesterday what does she do all day at the nanny share i was like oh my gosh just plays her little heart out yeah she sits up on the counter sometimes she's got so much stuff to do yeah she's a little cutie
she's a little cute little number and then one that one comment that i did think was funny was you made a video um walking and talking to her because i didn't feel good one day and everyone was like who who has our baby who's this man who's this man daddy the man's dad yeah it's been fun kind of tackling onto the back of of your videos Content's just fun. Do you know what I mean?
Like I just enjoy, I just think content is a fun little additive into life.
It's a good challenge. What you've showed me is, and I think it's like another one of your superpowers, just like how quickly you can make content, shoot something, get it up, your camera roll, I don't think is like full of 10, 15 takes of videos. It's one done up and you really don't let it consume your life.
And that was a really big concern of mine when we first started dating was that you'd be like,

Chapter 8: What is the average age of first-time home buyers?
accordingly based off of our kids specific needs and so you know i don't really see a world in which uh as of today she wouldn't go to one of the schools in the neighborhood because so many of them are great and i see a world in which we'd leave her behind but like maybe there's a specific situation where like that makes the most sense for her and that makes her the happiest and like what i care most about with her is is just her her happiness but i want to spend as much time with this little kid
as, as I can. And hopefully that she feels the same and hopefully, you know, that doesn't, that doesn't change.
Yeah. I don't even want her to spend the night at a friend's house two nights in a row. So I can't imagine her going or her staying in Austin. If you and I moved to New York or somewhere, but then it does also call into question like boarding school. Would you let her go to boarding school?
Like the way that you're asking the question is like, Like, let... And if that's what she wanted... Right, then of course you would do it.
Okay, that makes sense.
Like, I really want to empower her to, you know, make...
big and I know it's like who knows how all this changes over time but like I want to empower her to like make the decisions that feel true to her and are best for her life I feel like you know growing up there were a lot of expectations I don't want to be careful with my words here because my parents were amazing but like you know I feel like there were certain paths that one would have been pushed down and
and um i want to have as many of those paths open for her as possible so the reason i ask is there's this creator i gotta like walk you down this rabbit hole there's a creator being accused and i'm not going to say the creator's name because i'll tell you at the end what i think i think it's a bunch of people jumping to conclusions there's a creator being accused of moving out of california because she doesn't want to pay her child who is in her content now
And secondarily, California allegedly passed a law that if your child's in 65% or more of your content, you have to pay them. Now, thirdly, this creator also has a 17 year old. So she has a baby and a 17 year old daughter. The 17 year old daughter apparently is staying back to go to high school in California.
