Chapter 1: What is the difference between an epic fail and a fumble?

0.049 - 19.755 Host

There is a big difference between an epic fail and a fumble. I myself have failed a lot. I've had so many opportunities that I tried my best at, you know, and I just wasn't the right fit. You know when you apply for something and they're like, We're sorry, but you just weren't a right fit for the application.

Chapter 2: Why do we fumble opportunities in life?

20.055 - 52.597 Host

But what hurts more than trying your all and falling short is when you know you had the opportunity in your hands, you were running into the end zone, and you dropped the ball. And that is why I want you to know that in this life, you will fumble. oh my God, you will fumble so many times. You will fumble more than you could ever imagine.

Chapter 3: How can fumbling lead to personal growth?

52.677 - 72.584 Host

You will have opportunities in the palms of your hand, and they will slip by. And maybe that's entirely your fault, and you know it. There are a lot of fumbles I famously have made, one with a girl on a flight to Poland, as you may or may not know, that are generational. But maybe that fumble...

73.939 - 105.247 Host

was more important than you could have ever imagined because it taught you the importance of losing that moment. How are you supposed to learn if you don't mess up big time? If you don't have that confidence that, oh, this is in the bag, and then you just drop the ball and it's over. You should run the ball, but instead you throw it and it gets intercepted on some Super Bowl level stuff.

106.228 - 132.842 Host

Because that's how you learn. You learn from pain. You will fumble because if you want to learn, you have to fumble. You have to have opportunities that slip you by. You have to. Because you won't know the importance of them. You'll have no idea. It'll just be another opportunity. You need the pain of knowing that that was something so important to you and it didn't work.

Chapter 4: What are common areas where we fumble?

135.944 - 160.191 Host

In my personal life, I've had so many fumbles. I've had so many opportunities to work with people that I wanted to work with and I dropped the ball because I didn't respond to an email or I didn't go up and introduce myself. Famously, a lot of us fumble with relationships. We know that somebody is good for us. We want to date them, but we just don't do it. And they show the signs.

0

160.231 - 198.579 Host

They're like, I'm into you. After all this time, I'm still into you. And you just hit them with the nah. Not even. You will fumble. You will fumble. And you need to. You need to fumble. You need to understand the importance of these kind of events. And the most important thing about fumbling is you have to know how to recover the ball. You have to know how to recover. That's the importance.

Chapter 5: How to recover from a fumble?

200.44 - 230.724 Host

If you fumble and you just replay that play over and over again, oh, why didn't I get her number? Ah! No. You don't have time for that. I mean, you do, but it's not a good use of your time. What's a better use of your time is looking at, okay, where did I go wrong? Why did I fumble? What was the cause of me not seizing this opportunity? Why did it happen? Was it because I wasn't prepared?

0

231.585 - 257.206 Host

Did I go into this meeting with no preparation? Did I go into this exam studying enough? If the answer is no, ding, ding, ding. You know where you went wrong. And it's one thing to acknowledge it, but then how do you change that? Okay, I went into this algebra exam and I did an algebra because I had no idea what anything was. Great. What could you have done better?

Chapter 6: What mistakes lead to repeated fumbles?

258.647 - 286.181 Host

Well, I had six hours over the weekend to study, but I fumbled it. Because I didn't manage my time correctly. Because I wanted to go watch Interstellar with the bros instead of lock in when I knew I had like five chapters I had to learn. There you go. Could you have started that sooner? Absolutely. Do you have the discipline to start that sooner? No, I got to work on it. That's how you recover.

0

Chapter 7: Can preparation prevent fumbles?

286.781 - 311.208 Host

Because the pattern that we usually get into and I found myself get into is I know that, you know, we'll fumble, right? but I don't put any kind of precautions. I don't put any kind of systems in. I don't catch myself before I know the fumble will occur. And so that creates the pattern of me continuously fumbling over and over and over again.

0

311.768 - 332.399 Host

And at some point, someone's gonna take me out of the fantasy team because I keep fumbling and that's not gonna win a game. And sometimes you will prepare. You will do everything. You will have the best pregame speech. You will be locked in, lasered in, and you'll still fumble.

0

Chapter 8: Why do we still fumble despite preparation?

344.14 - 346.522

We can do everything that comes. Das Handwerk.

0

361.498 - 363.66

And it happens. It happens. That's life.

0

390.524 - 414.6 Host

Sometimes you will do everything and it still will go wrong. What's meant to go wrong will go wrong. But if you go in more prepared and you've learned from your previous experiences and you know a thing or two because you've fumbled a thing or two, it's a different ballgame. You're playing against a different team. You have a different understanding of the game.

0

415.66 - 419.042 Host

Now you know, figuratively, a different pass

0

420.552 - 448.15 Host

is the key but as long as you understand that you will fumble and these things will happen and you learn from them and you look introspectively and you understand what went wrong and why it went wrong then you will come out on the other side with the knowledge you need to turn that next opportunity into a good one and you have to have an abundance mindset when it comes to fumbling

449.485 - 467.97 Host

Because when a lot of us miss out on an opportunity, instead of reflecting on it and understanding why that opportunity came and went, we harp on it. And we focus all of our energy as to why it didn't happen and how bitter we are that we messed up in the worst

469.15 - 494.735 Host

is when you have an opportunity that's given to you, you mess up on it, and then someone you know or someone you love takes it, and they're successful. That's how you become bitter. And trust me, you don't wanna become bitter because they're living in your head rent-free. Nah, you don't have time for that. Why would you want someone to live in there rent-free?

494.755 - 524.734 Host

They should be paying, so you will fumble. It's just how it is. But another opportunity is right around the corner. Will you get that same exact opportunity again? Maybe you won't. Maybe you won't. But maybe that opportunity that you get later down the line is better than you could ever imagine. Maybe you just weren't ready at that moment to take it.

526.334 - 553.062 Host

Maybe that's the best thing because imagine you took an opportunity, you didn't fumble it, and you weren't ready and you made zero use out of it. I would argue that's worse. You will fumble. But guess what? We keep moving. Zerky Show. It's a beautiful day here in Austin, Texas. I'm on the lake. I'm enjoying myself. I'm doing the things that keep me grounded. And guess what? I love you so much.
