Chapter 1: What should I do when I feel unproductive?

0.149 - 26.196 Host

I wish I could make a video on how to be perfect. I wish I could make a video telling you the A through Zs of how you can wake up on time every single day, how you can be on top of everything, be super productive, but I cannot because I am human. And the bane of the human existence is that you are going to make mistakes, not a matter of if, a matter of when. My mistake?

0

27.337 - 56.897 Host

I went to bed late, 1.30, which has been my muse as of recent. I love going to bed at 1.30 because, you know, I hit midnight and I know I should go to sleep. I know I should put the phone away. But that scroll, though! Ooh! Dude, have you ever hit like a late night scroll? It is so good. It's so good. It is so brain numbing. It is so addicting and beautiful. And I forget everything that I watch.

0

56.997 - 84.978 Host

It's awesome. But when you wake up the next day and you realize that your entire day is screwed, it really makes you question why you are on this planet, why you can't get anything right. But I've learned something that I want to pass down to you. I've learned something about the relationship with myself.

0

Chapter 2: How can I accept my imperfections?

85.939 - 125.539 Host

And I think that once you figure out a way to master this, especially now where maybe you're feeling really bad and you're feeling really, really defeated by yourself, which is like the worst. Aren't you supposed to be your best friend? Your own best friend? I want you to accept it as is. I want you to accept it as is. And by it, I mean the late time that you woke up. The fact that it is 11 a.m.

0

125.579 - 161.259 Host

on a Monday. The fact that it is, you know, noon on a Tuesday. I don't know. The fact that it happened. It happened. You woke up late. It happened. You wanted to have a productive start. You wanted to be out of the house by 10 a.m. And it's 2 p.m. You have an option. And one of those options is to continue to... I just got to roam around, yeah? Are you filming something?

0

161.279 - 190.74 Host

Yeah, yeah, I'm just recording something. Is that a license? watch this this is about to be awesome dude's got four dogs what okay back to what i was saying accepting it as is man It's going, dude, you are not going to be perfect. You won't.

0

190.92 - 214.172 Host

I promise you if there's one thing in this life you got to understand, it's that you have to deal with your mind, your body as if they are different entities of yourself. And even though your will might want you to be productive and your soul is telling you, I got to lock in, sometimes you won't be able to. You won't.

0

216.039 - 246.038 Host

it's okay it's fine I have learned that when I accept my situation as is whether that is me waking up late whether that is you know a potential business partner putting me you know giving me a cold shoulder whether that is like a crush not responding to a message you know it like You have to accept it as is. You've got to accept your situation for what it is.

Chapter 3: What are the benefits of accepting my situation?

246.158 - 267.269 Host

And sometimes that is a very sobering thought and a sobering realization because maybe you realize, dang, I'm not doing good. And maybe you realize that your pursuit of whatever you're trying to go after, it needs to take a break because you've got to sort yourself out.

0

269.264 - 303.631 Host

I think a lot of people are quick to diminish how they feel or they're quick to, you know, look at themselves as if they're a robot. I should be able to do this. Like you cannot. You can't. You can't. And sometimes you'll have situations where, you know, You just got to do something for yourself. You got to put like a half rep in for yourself. And that's what I'm doing right now, today.

0

Chapter 4: How can I deal with late starts in my day?

306.211 - 334.476 Host

You know, I'm low energy. It's muggy out. I can find every reason to complain, but you know what? I accept it as is. I'm like, all right, well, yeah, all of that is true. But I love the Zerky Show, fam. I want to do the Zerky Show. I love it. So I'm going to do it. Even if it's rough in the moment, it's fine. It's okay. But it's going to take me double the time. That's fine.

0

334.516 - 359.472 Host

I'm going to be patient with myself. If it takes me four hours to do it instead of one hour, that's fine. At least I'm going to do it. You know, oftentimes we make a lot of plans for our own life and we set deadlines with ourselves and we say, oh, we want to do this in this amount of time. We want to make this much money. We want to be settled by this.

0

Chapter 5: What should I do when my plans go awry?

359.592 - 394.786 Host

But, like, there are so many things in our life that are so unpredictable. I had no idea I was going to feel like this yesterday. Yesterday I was like, oh, I'm going to be locked in. But I woke up today and I'm like, oh. Oh, hell no. Like super drawn out, super tired, super lazy. Oh my gosh. You know how incredible the human experience is that we can just like lay in bed. Isn't that awesome?

0

395.087 - 425.512 Host

And now we have a laptop that can play any piece of media ever made. It took a lot for me to come out here. Let's just say that. But accepting your situation as is, is really the first step to being able to do something about that situation. For me, the first thing I had to accept is like, all right, I didn't wake up on time and that is okay. And my second train of thought was, all right,

0

426.291 - 444.528 Host

You know, it's like nine 30. Let me at least get out of the house. Let me at least go for a walk. And I went up for that walk and I was like, okay, this is good. Let me call my grandparents. I haven't talked to my grandparents in a long time. I said I was going to do that. It's not something that's like the top of the priority list, but I can do it. I'm on this walk. Why not?

0

445.028 - 466.72 Host

So I, you know, to my grandparents, cause they speak Polish. And it was so awesome. I caught up with them for like, you know, an hour while I was walking. It was beautiful. It was great. Went home, started cooking. I made some Japanese curry. By the way, I was put on by my roommate Dylan.

0

Chapter 6: How can I be patient with myself during tough times?

467.677 - 494.289 Host

these Japanese curry cubes, you can buy them at your local supermarket, but essentially what you do is you cook, you know, meat and stuff, you cook like carrots, onions, potatoes, you boil them a little bit, I know this is sounding crazy, like, I don't wanna do this, bro, it takes 20 minutes, 20 minutes, and trust me, it is so good, and then you put in the Japanese curry paste, you know, cubes, and bro, you have a restaurant-level dish,

0

495.169 - 519.675 Host

So for those of you out there who eat chicken thighs and rice every single day, air fried chicken thighs and rice like me, bro, switch it up. It literally, it's like a, you know, $5 investment. And I promise you, it is so worth it. Anyways, I told myself like, all right, let me at least make myself some good food, made myself some good food. And then it was like one 30 and I'm like, all right,

0

520.382 - 548.821 Host

It's time to do something. Let's at least do something for a little bit. Let's just try. And now I'm out here. We outside. Famously we outside. And, you know, I had a choice. As soon as my eyes opened, I could have laid in my bed. and looked at the clock and been like, Oh my goodness, I'm just like a failure and relished in, in all of my negativity and self-hatred.

0

548.901 - 575.747 Host

Or I could have been like, all right, like sucks. But I mean, I woke up at nine. That's life. That's life. I can work on maybe tonight going to sleep earlier. I can work on maybe tonight taking care of myself a little bit. So I'm not as stressed. So I'm not using, you know, my night scroll as like a cope, you know, for stress. I can do that. That's within my control.

0

Chapter 7: What is the significance of acknowledging my feelings?

575.767 - 599.808 Host

But the fact that I woke up super late, it happened. I can't like, you know, travel back in time and wake up at six. That's not done. It's over. It's the same thing with, you know, when you're in a relationship and your significant other breaks up with you. It's done. It's over. You can relish in it and it's good to have emotions of like, I'm longing for this person. I'm yearning for this person.

0

599.868 - 628.763 Host

But like, at the end of the day, the first step towards doing something in your life and changing something is accepting where you're at. It really is. Because it is so easy to just lie to yourself and be like, oh, well, you know, yeah, I'm working on it. Like, no, you're not. You're not working on it. You know? Yeah, well, I'm trying. But are you really? Are you really?

0

628.863 - 650.31 Host

Because I don't know if you are. And the solace you get in accepting that you are not where you want to be is like the best. It is the best thing. Because oftentimes when we do that, it's like we alleviate all of the standard that we've tried to hold ourselves to.

0

650.55 - 681.67 Host

We alleviate and get rid of all of the pre-assumptions and all of the mistakes that we made because we just, we accept it as is and we meet ourselves where we're at. You know? We're like, okay, I'm not doing very good. Cool. I don't need to have a super productive day today. What can I do today? What can I just do for myself? You know what? I can at least clean up my living room. Let's do that.

0

681.69 - 699.359 Host

I'm going to throw on some vapor wave. I'm going to throw on some chill lo-fi beats to study to. I'm just going to clean my living room. And then after I clean my living room, I'm feeling a little bit better. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to call my friend. I'm going to see what's up with them, catch up with them for a little bit. I don't feel too bad. Okay, now it's like 5 p.m.

699.939 - 715.952 Host

Yeah, I'm not feeling too bad. You know what? I'm going to go to the gym. I'm not going to go work out. I'm just going to go walk on the treadmill. I'm just going to hang out for a little bit. I'm going to watch my favorite show. Hey, you just had a really good day. You just had an incredible day.

717.072 - 749.291 Host

You powered through it because you accepted the situation as is and you were like, okay, yeah, all those things I had planned, not happening. But you know what is happening? Something else. Something else I can do. And I think this is the same for any kind of pursuit of anything. A lot of us will be humbled very quickly when we step into our adult lives of, you know, our finances.

Chapter 8: How can I take action after accepting my reality?

750.271 - 779.46 Host

Dude, if you're in college, bro, enjoy it because life is expensive. It's expensive. It's expensive. And not like, oh, Range Rover. Oh, Bugatti. No. Like, eggs at the grocery store are expensive. They're not cheap. Get ready. I'm kidding. You guys are going to be fine. We're going to be fine. Hopefully. No, we will. But... Accepting it as is, is the base, man.

0

780.18 - 803.967 Host

Because this is how you actually form a working relationship with yourself. This is how you form a good coexistence with the cynical part of you, the negative part of you. Because there is that part in all of us. I mean, it's just, it's how we are, right? Like, there is a part of us that will fight us on every decision, that will make us feel like we're not good enough. Oh my goodness. Hiya!

0

804.087 - 836.05 Host

Oh, okay. Again, bro, like, you know, the dogs were just attacking each other, but I'm accepting it as is, alright? It's a great part of this video. There's another one! Again, I'm accepting all of that as is, you know? It's a part of the video now, you know? But yeah, it's the cynical part of us that wants us to relish and... this feeling of like, oh, no, I can't do it all.

0

836.09 - 856.647 Host

Like, oh, man, my standards were so high and I can't even get to 1% of it, so I'm just going to give up. But it's not how you make progress. It's not how you look out for yourself. I've found that when I'm forgiving of myself and when I meet myself like where I'm at, I'm able to get so much done. I'm able to just focus on the next step.

0

856.947 - 886.004 Host

I'm not preoccupied and drowning myself in my sorrow of, oh, why didn't I do a cold shower today? It's like, it's fine. It's cool, dude. I find that when I meet myself where I'm at, it honestly helps me still do the things that I want to get done. Prime example, right? Sometimes I wake up and I do not want to leave my bed. I love how comfortable I am in my bed.

886.064 - 908.221 Host

I'm sore, whatever my excuses or my valid excuses, right? Like I'll just bring my laptop to my bed. I'll work from my bed. Cool. I can stay in my bed. That's fine. But if I want to still get my work done, just bring my laptop to my bed and hey, I'm Usually I'll work for like an hour and then I get tired and I'm like, all right, it's time to get up.

908.381 - 933.242 Host

You know, it's about finding that balance of like what your mind needs, which oftentimes is rest, what your body needs, which also is oftentimes rest and granting that permission. And sometimes that will not happen in the most opportune times. Like, so, you know, for a lot of us, we can't schedule that. We can't.

933.362 - 956.84 Host

We just gotta, we gotta listen to our body and understand when it's time to take a break. Rewind. We have to listen to our body and understand when we have to take a break. Because it is so easy to just keep grinding the gears and overworking yourself until you just, you can't. And then you're just gonna, you know, give it up.

959.002 - 980.407 Host

So finding that kind of balance and that ability to rest is so important. And just finding like what you like, not what you think you like, but what do you actually like using that? Maybe your motivation to get your work done is buying a car. A latte at your favorite coffee place. Maybe that's what's going to get you out of the house.
