Hi, everybody. We are live from the imperial capital, Washington, D.C. Breaking news. For the first time since 1985, the presidential inauguration will be going indoors. Now, let me be very clear.
This is not because of terrorist threats or security threats or safety threats. This is President Trump's concern for all the hundreds of thousands of people that would be coming to Washington, D.C., that would have to endure near cold zero temperatures. The president cares deeply about the American people. He has an obligation to the safety and the security of the American people.
And because of that, he knows that his people will sometimes wait hours on end, tens of hours on end outside and potentially get frostbite, pneumonia or die. He does not want to start his administration that way. And this is the right call. This is the right call that President Trump and the presidential inaugurational committee is making.
