Chapter 1: What happened in the NBA Cup group play?
I'm not going to ask you.
I'm not going to ask you. We're not doing that. Remember?
Yeah.
Stick around, guys. After the break, we've got Jared Weiss to talk about the Cavs, talk about the Celtics and to dig into what's happening in the Sixers locker room. Well, the 72 Dolphins can smoke their cigars because we are not getting an undefeated season from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Is that a is that a reference that you get?
I always.
You're a big sports fan, but it's an old reference.
Why do you seem to be so much younger than me that I can't be asked that question? That's ridiculous. No, no, no, no.
The reason why I was asked that question, I used to work for the Dolphins. That's the only reference. There you go.
So that was orientation day one.

Chapter 4: How are the Celtics performing this season?
So the question is like exactly what do they have to work on, particularly three point shooting? It seemed like the Cavs, that was their bread and butter all night long. Sixty six to 30 was the differential there, even though the Cavs forced 13 turnovers, getting them 20 points off of that. It seemed like they were doing all the right things, particularly in that second half.
They just didn't have Okoro or Wade to handle Tatum and Brown. So what else could they be focusing as far as like working on?
Well, I think it's not just that they were missing some of their good complementary shooters because, you know, Niang took his shots, Porter took shots. Jerome, did he take a three? He didn't take a three. Yeah, no. I think this is twofold. We see this a lot with this Cavs-Celtics matchup. Garland will have, like... Four good minutes in the game.
And then the rest of it, solid process, just not good results. So they need him to step up. Mitchell also struggled with his shot early in this game. And then he just went crazy in the fourth quarter. And I think what really got him going was they went to the K to switch and had Donovan really attack that later in the third quarter.
And what got them back into the game, which is the thing that when I asked Kenny Atkinson about it after the game, he was like, my bad, guys.
was they didn't really go into that evan mobley switch attack until the second half and coming out of halftime i was like i know they're either going mobley in the post or mitchell at the top of the arc or both and it was both yeah because they had to mismatch target more effectively and you know mobley felt that they were too bogged down in that and that they were losing some of the rhythm of their offense what makes the cavs so interesting is they don't pass the ball a ton but what they do is they have lots of cross-cutting movement underneath and so
You know, the defense is so fixated on Mitchell and Garland, two of the most incredible ball handlers in the game. And then they look over their shoulder and there's like a bunch of guys crossing. They don't even know what the hell's going on. And then all of a sudden, boom, the Cavs are attacked. It's one pass and boom, they already got an open shot. And so they weren't really doing that.
And they got a lot more towards that in the second half. And that's a credit to the Celtics. The Celtics defensive scheme and their defensive personnel just makes it really hard for Cleveland to play. Especially that starting line. Yeah.
Yeah, Garland looks small.
