Chapter 1: Why were the podcast episodes swapped this week?

0.129 - 24.543 Macy

hi ghosties i'm macy and i'm natalie and it's monday but it's a listener story day well no exciting okay no but different so last week i know we said it on our last listener stories episode but last week we had to switch our listener stories and our regularly scheduled monday episode because i got sick my whole family got sick with the stomach flu and so it was a whole debacle we already had the listener stories episode recorded

0

25.143 - 37.938 Macy

So this week, we're just doing the listener stories first because I haven't caught back up after being sick. I'm gathering myself here. Yes. But next week. We're back on track. We will be. But you're still getting two episodes.

0

38.318 - 39.7 Natalie

It's just swapped.

0

39.96 - 47.288 Macy

Sorry if this throws anybody's schedules off. I know change sometimes does that to me. Yeah. And it is doing that now. But. We'll get it together.

0

47.408 - 56.115 Natalie

I'll get it together. I promise. We've both been struggling. It's been rough. I feel like we say that every like two or three months. We're like, we can't get it together. But it really is that way.

56.396 - 62.901 Macy

I was fine until we got sick. And then I was, we've literally been out for like a week, a week straight of. It was bad.

62.921 - 72.149 Natalie

It was really bad. It was really bad. There was a time that we recorded and her husband called and was like, hey, son just threw up. So she had to leave. Yeah.

72.389 - 89.16 Macy

So it's been, it's been something. But we're getting it together. Everyone's fine now. Knock on wood. Here we go. RT today. Part of the Harry Potter box. Yes. The Harry Potter box set that I got for Christmas. This one is Slytherin. Pomegranate. Natalie's a Slytherin. I am a Slytherin.

89.36 - 99.046 Natalie

And I do like pomegranate. Would y'all have guessed that? Don't say what you are. Okay. If you've never said it before. Comment what you think Macy is. What house she is. And would you have guessed that I'm a Slytherin?

Chapter 2: What is the story behind Roxanna's spooky experiences?

148.464 - 169.672 Macy

I'm glad. It'll open up our options to trying other things. Yes. I'm still an Earl Grey kind of person or anything fall coded. Yeah, me too. But we're going to start our stories off today with a continuation of one of the people who wrote in for our Dwindays episode. So if you haven't seen that one, that was a pretty good episode. We posted that on Thursday. This is Roxanna.

0

169.752 - 215.97 Macy

She had a couple of more stories in her email that just didn't fit in with Dwindays. And so I moved them over here because they were good. Nice. I'm ready. So, Roxanna says, He kept walking, but felt a weird feeling when something in him told him to stop. As he did, he looked down to see the nun had no legs. She was just all white clothes and floating.

0

216.33 - 236.378 Macy

He was in shock, and he knew he had to leave. However, something in him told him not to turn his back on it. As he stood there, he felt like it was forever when he heard his name being called, but from behind from where he had first come from. He didn't dare to turn around when he heard someone approach him and grab him by the shoulder. My dad finally reacted and jerked away, scared.

0

236.638 - 255.275 Macy

It was his older brother with his PJs on. He was confused why he was there since his brother should be on his way to work in a different location. His brother told him, Hey, you don't have school today. Let's go home. My dad was confused and his brother told him, No, not today. As they walked away, my dad asked if he had seen the nun. My uncle looked at him and nodded.

0

255.535 - 259.257 Macy

This is why I love listener stories, because you'll be in the middle of telling it, and then I start to go...

274.386 - 280.192 Natalie

Oh, this is someone that listens. This is like a personal story. This isn't something we grabbed from the internet. I'm spooked.

280.492 - 292.365 Macy

Isn't that terrifying? I love a good mother's intuition story, though. Mom woke up and was like, he can't go to school. He needs to come home. Yeah. Other son, go get him because something's wrong. Something's up.

292.725 - 305.469 Natalie

Yeah, I love stories like that. I think we've talked about that before, how our mom's very intuitive and always like, anytime she tells us, oh, I don't want you to go there. I'm like, so I won't. She'll be like, I just had a feeling. I'm like, got it. And I'm not gonna go.

305.489 - 324.479 Macy

It's set in stone. I also like how they were like, hmm. We don't need to know who the nun was. That's okay. Agreed. That's fine. Leave it alone. She can just live her life at the bus stop and hopefully we'd never see her again. Yeah, that's okay. The last story. My dad played with the board that shall not be named, but the typical board that is used to speak with the dead slash spirits.

Chapter 3: How did Emma experience a premonition and a ghostly Ouija board?

808.535 - 819.631 Natalie

Oh, wow. Just to drop that little second nugget in there. Speaking of sleeping with the lights on, I recently got new lamps and I have been sleeping with it on. Just because it makes me feel better. I don't know.

0

819.651 - 833.538 Macy

Because if it's fully dark, I'm like, not going to lie, I've been sleeping with my lamp on too. Jay comes to bed after me, so I'll just turn the lamp on. And I'm like, oh, I'll turn it on because he'll be in here soon. And then I'm like, really? I don't want to be in the dark.

0

833.658 - 840.402 Natalie

I've been reading my book. For our book club. Thank you. So I have it on and I'm like, eventually I'll turn it off. I close my book and I'm like...

0

840.922 - 868.051 Macy

after this house episode and then i wake up and it's the next day having the door slam right in front of you though you're just like minding your own business trying to get your pillows for your sleepover and just and then saying don't mind me i'm just here felt our next story comes from zoe hi my name is zoe i just recently found your podcast and have always loved listening to other people's ghost stories slash experiences i've always had experiences to talk about and i just wanted to tell you about my first experience that i remember very vividly

0

868.351 - 903.263 Macy

That's pretty sweet. That's cute. But anyways, I live in a small town with nothing but fields and country back roads. We lived in a single wide trailer down a dirt road. Further down the dirt path was an old cemetery. Me, my brothers, and cousins used to climb the big tree in the middle of the cemetery and hang out there when we were bored.

903.483 - 920.852 Macy

I know it seems weird, but we lived in a town with nothing to do, and back then, it was a thing. We also lived in a town with nothing to do, so it's not that weird to us. Literally nothing to do. Go backroading. Yes, but usually... Ended up either by or near a cemetery. Yes. Yeah. Just to get a little thrill because there was nothing else.

920.992 - 935.156 Macy

We always made sure to never disrespect the tombstones and would apologize if we stepped on them. My first paranormal experience was not related to that, but something else entirely different. My dad used to collect Native American artifacts, arrowheads and pieces related to these artifacts.

935.436 - 947.881 Macy

There used to be an arrowhead-shaped piece covered in epoxy with a painting of a Native American tribe on it. In the middle of the tribe, there was the Native American chief, with his big regalia and the feathers on it holding his walking stick or a spear, I assume.

948.081 - 956.245 Macy

When I was about four or five, I used to have nightmares every night, and I would run from one side of the trailer to the other to my parents' bedroom and sleep with them for the rest of the night.

Chapter 4: What terrifying encounter did Mads share?

1272.249 - 1285.718 Macy

I went to answer the door and it was one of my neighbors that regularly would come over and watch my siblings or just hang out. I told her I was sick, so I didn't want her to come in and possibly catch what I had. She said that she simply saw my dad outside when she drove by and wanted to stop by to talk to him.

0

1286.258 - 1323.27 Macy

I was confused because I hadn't heard my dad get home and he wasn't supposed to be home for another four hours. I told her that I would go and look for him and send him out. I searched every place in my house where he could possibly be and he was not there. No. No. I had no reason to open it and nobody else was home to do it.

0

1323.471 - 1336.063 Macy

So I freaked out and went down into the living room thinking my fever was messing with me or something. I stayed down there until my mom got home from work. And the entire time I heard footsteps and doors opening upstairs. It was one of the most terrifying things that I've ever experienced.

0

1336.403 - 1345.255 Natalie

He's in the wardrobe. Oh, Natalie, how dare you? He's in there. Oh, I'm scared. He just comes down to check the mail and then goes back. Since he was checking the mail.

0

1345.275 - 1348.339 Macy

He's waiting for his package. He ordered something on Etsy.

1348.559 - 1351.623 Natalie

Well, if it's USPS, it's not getting there. Don't get me started.

1352.183 - 1373.717 Natalie

okay the fact that sorry the fact that he's doing mundane things like checking the mail and stuff like that maybe he just used to live there and that was his bedroom you know maybe he and he just liked to hang out in the wardrobe open no he opened the wardrobe put his put his little coat on and he was going to work outside yeah okay yeah that's fine that's exactly what it is it's fine and their fever was messing with them it's fine

1375.472 - 1387.542 Macy

It's fine. I like that they just went back downstairs in the hidden living room until the family came home because that is exactly, even hearing things upstairs, I don't think I would move. I'd just be like, everything is fine. Everything is fine. Like turn the TV on and just wait.

1387.622 - 1394.949 Natalie

Turn it all the way up. It's like when you're in the car and you hear a weird noise from your car. Just turn it off. Turn up the radio. No auto shop for me today.

Chapter 5: How did Zoie encounter a Native American spirit?

1669.907 - 1694.888 Natalie

I love it. Oh, why'd you say that? Sorry. We also have a pawpaw. Yeah, we do. I think that's a southern name for a grandparent. Yes. I know a lot of people with, what'd she say, mawmaws? I know a lot of people with mawmaws. Yeah, me too. And by that, I mean one. Oh, well, I know several. There's Meemaw, Peepaw. There's everything you can imagine. I've heard of a Popo before.

0

1694.988 - 1699.612 Natalie

I've also heard of a Popo. I love all of them. What are we doing? They're so funny.

0

1699.832 - 1705.876 Macy

What are we doing? I like it. That's like one of my, one of the best things about Southern people.

0

1705.976 - 1711.72 Natalie

It's so funny. What do you mean you have a Meemaw and a Poopaw? What? What are you talking about?

0

1712.12 - 1734.073 Macy

But if they say in conversation, you're like, oh yeah, definitely. Okay. I love the South. Hey, I love it. Well, sometimes. Sometimes. Our next one is from Anna. I think it's how you say your name. So correct me in the comments if I'm wrong. Hello. I love your podcast. My name is Anna. I travel and I work at an old college, so I have lots of stories. However, I might only send in one story.

1734.253 - 1749.885 Macy

One of my scariest trips was to Boston, Massachusetts and Salem, Massachusetts. I was staying with my sister, who is a big scaredy cat. So naturally, I did not tell her why we were staying at this hotel. My first night, I stayed in the Omni Parker house. which is the building based off of Stephen King's 1408.

1750.525 - 1768.818 Macy

The house itself has many stories you can just look up, but this is my first-hand experience. The story of Room 303 is very important. The short version is, a man died in that room while smoking and drinking whiskey. I was staying on the second floor and was told upon checking in that the elevators have a mind of their own. The rooms were outdated and old, so it was already creepy.

1769.099 - 1788.487 Macy

However, I did research before arriving that the third floor was haunted. and had some creepy history. So out of curiosity, I wanted to see the third floor before bed. I told my sister I was going to explore the hotel a bit. It was grand and definitely that old money style, so she did not think anything of it. I headed to the elevator solely because I was hoping it would make it more spooky.

1788.787 - 1807.193 Macy

As the elevator came up from the first floor, I heard people talking inside. When it opened, no one was inside. I assumed people downstairs were just being loud since there was a bar. I stepped on the elevator to head to the third floor. Once I stepped out onto the third floor, I was hit with this cold air and a heart-sinking feeling. All the lights on this floor were either flickering or out.
