Chapter 1: Who is Nicholas Newsad and what does he do?
This is Scott Becker with the Becker Private Equity in Business podcast. I'm thrilled today to be joined by an incredible entrepreneur, leader, brilliant business person who also does some dealing and brokering investment banking of healthcare businesses. We're visiting today with Nicholas Neusat. I've asked Nicholas to do two things today, really.
First, tell us about his business and what he does. And then second, give us an elevator pitch, a short talk on one of the businesses that he has coming to market. He's got some confidentiality issues, so he'll give us more generals on it.
But Nick, can you take a second first, Nicholas, and talk to us about your business, Dr. Deals, and what you've developed, and then we'll talk about this specific deal.
Chapter 2: What is Dr. Deals and its significance?
Certainly. Thank you. My name is Nick Nusat. I live in Denver, Colorado. I am the owner or I was the owner and founder of healthcontract.com. And I wrote the book, Dr. Deals. Healthcontract.com recently joined the Coker family of companies. And by the time this airs, it will be rebranded as Coker Data Rise. And I am now a vice president at Coker.
Fantastic. And Coker is a fantastic firm. So thrilled to hear that. The Coker group is fantastic. Coker is great. And talk to us a little bit about the particular deal that you're bringing to market now. And I know you're subject to all kinds of confidence. So give us some generals on it and then tell people where they can reach you if they're interested in learning more.
Sure. So I'm here today to get the word out that we have a healthcare business for sale in a competitive bid. This business for sale is a medical software business. The business sells a software app that improves charge capture for physicians who round on hospital patients. The software is popular with specialists and surgeons, including GI docs, pulmonologists, critical care docs,
Chapter 3: What healthcare business is Nicholas bringing to market?
orthopedic surgeons the docs who use this business's app love it because they do not have to track hospital rounding services on post-it notes or scraps of paper anymore they can use this charge capture software on their laptops tablets or even their phones this software business has a 95 customer retention rate the software integrates with all major ehrs and practice management systems
Chapter 4: How does the medical software improve charge capture?
This business that's for sale has over 550 paid customer subscribers and over a thousand users. This business has been operational for over 10 years. The business is profitable and it is experiencing double digit year over year growth. There's just a few weeks left to submit letters of intent. I'm happy to put interested buyers in touch with the seller's M&A broker on this deal.
Chapter 5: What is the customer retention rate of the software?
If you want more info, you can text me directly or leave me a message at 720-281-2654. So either text me or leave me a message and I'll get you in touch with the people who can get you all the written materials.
Fantastic. So profitable medical software business has been in business for 10 years plus. Fantastic. Nicholas, Nick, it's always great to visit with you. Tell the audience a little bit more about the book you wrote, Dr. Deals, and about your podcast.
Sure. So Dr. Deals is now in its second edition. You can get it as an e-book on Kindle, on Amazon, or you can get the audio book, which is narrated by yours truly. I don't recommend it. If you ever write an audio book, I would get an actor to do it. But it's all about all the business deals I've done with doctors over the years.
I've probably worked on 400 business deals, practice sales, joint ventures, mergers, ASC deals, everything you could think of, imaging centers. And it talks about how we originally started out doing hospital deals. And then we got into this new wave of private equity deals and MSOs and all the things that business people need to know if they're going to get into that realm.
Amazing. Nick, thank you so much for joining us. Just fantastic to visit with you as always. Again, Nick Nusad, one of the great ones, as good a person as they come, very principled, great leader in healthcare. Thank you for joining us today on the Beckham Private Equity and Business Podcast.
Thank you. Take care.
