As we build our emergency fund on Baby Step 3, the only debt we ever took out was our mortgage, we are worried that we might run into an emergency that we won't be able to fund alone. My husband's worried that without owning a credit card and building credit, we won't be able to borrow our way out of a big emergency if the need arises.
