You know, Titanic was the second ship in the line. At the time, nearly all of the hype was around Olympic as the first of her class. Titanic, yes, she was slightly bigger, slightly heavier than Olympic, so she draws attention for that reason because she's the biggest ship in the world. But most of the hype at the time in the publicity was around Olympic.
The interesting thing about the unsinkable moniker is that the builders, Harland and Wolfe, never claimed that. This was something that came about by a magazine called Shipbuilder Magazine where they said, this ship cannot be sunk.
Titanic had 20 lifeboats. There were 16 full size and four what they call collapsible. So, you know, smaller ones that were kept up on deck. And that was actually more than she needed to have by the regulations of the day. The regulations, unfortunately, were based on the tonnage of the ship and had not been updated for many years.
He was supposedly giving them money so that they wouldn't go back in and risk having the lifeboat overturned.
perhaps my great-grandfather could have been rescued from the water. We just don't know. I mean, I try, I suppose, not to think about the physical aspects of what he would have gone through in those last hours of Titanic. While I've put myself in his headspace to a certain extent, I just find it difficult to think about what it must have been like for him in those final moments.
I don't want to think about that too much.

I've done that crossing. I did it in 2012 as part of the Memorial cruise. Just getting a handle on how huge the Atlantic Ocean is. It's amazing now, you know, you can fly across the Atlantic in five hours, but you know, when you're bobbing around on this vast ocean in a ship, you just realize sort of how vulnerable you are and how the sea has all the power.
And for him, I'm sure some of those thoughts were going through his mind because he'd never been in a situation quite like that before.
If you're a third class male or one of the crew, you're more than likely not to have survived. But that's just the way it was then, you know. It was women and children first. And the geography of the ship also favored those who were traveling in first class.

Finally, our Nemo Boards shop also makes a good figure on mobile devices. And the illustrations on the boards are now much, much clearer, which is also important to us and what also makes our brand.
