And the thing is, they're right to recognize that these podcasters became super powerful. We saw the influence of them. But when you try to say, OK, let's go out in a lab, as you said, and create our person, our Joe Rogan of the left or whatever it is. First of all, these these podcasters do not like the really powerful ones, popular ones to be siloed. They're not all Republican.

But there's kind of this theme where people were so afraid about President Trump becoming president again that they were willing to kind of look the other way on this Biden stuff. But it ended up being a self-fulfilling prophecy because propping him up to the last minute gave them President Trump again.

They're not all Democrat or liberal or conservative. They don't like to be pigeonholed at all. But you can't create something that younger people feel is authentic. Like you said, they want authenticity. That's what we keep hearing from young people. And if it's about who's out there shilling for you. The vice president, former vice president, had the biggest stars in all of culture.

I mean, when you've got Oprah and Beyonce and all these people showing up for you, if that didn't work, that's not going to solve the problem. There's this Democratic data firm today called Catalyst that put out all of these terrible numbers of what happened to Democrats in the fall. They lost with younger voters, men, voters of color, infrequent voters.

They said the results were so bad that for the first time since they've been crunching all this data, that younger and frequent and new voters who tend to shift to Democrats, they were at less than 50 percent in their support for the Democratic presidential candidate for the first time ever. So Democrats have a lot of things to soul search about.

And I don't think creating, you know, a podcast or look at the influencers they brought to the White House and how some of that really imploded.

Right. And they loved him a couple of years ago. It wasn't until he got involved with Doge that they didn't. And I it feels to me very much his experience with Washington, like President Trump, when he came in 2017.

You don't know how bad the swamp is until you get there and you have to start fighting with them because we've had Republicans and Democrats for safe for decades that they wanted to get rid of waste. And when he started doing it, when he touches their pet projects or something they're involved in. You know, they're not happy about it.

Plus, you've talked about President Trump as the bad guy on the left for so long, it kind of wears thin. Like, people just don't really hear the argument anymore. Well, Elon gave them someone new to be the bad guy. And so when they came after him and he hadn't been used to boycotts and all of these things that President Trump's already been through, I think of him as sort of a sensitive soul.

I agree. Don't ever lie because you're setting expectations. You don't want to get in there and bomb this job and fall apart. But I have a special gift. A rare gift that I have is you bring me a resume. I don't care how bad it is. I will make you chicken salad out of that thing. If you know what I'm saying, you don't lie. But there is a way to really polish it up and make it look good.

Well, and Harold, the book talks about a lot of people who have regrets that they didn't say something before, probably because they ended with this disaster in the election in the fall. But they had knowledge and they 200 plus people have talked to them now. It's a question now that a lot of people that are running for 2028 Democrats are going to have to answer.

And they're starting to be asked, what did you know and when? I mean, that's going to be part of the vetting process for them moving forward.

President Trump coming in hot on this growing scandal, posting this quote. Joe Biden was not for open borders. He never talked about open borders where criminals of all kinds, shapes and sizes can flow into our country at will. It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired and that took over the auto pen. They stole the presidency of the United States and put us in great danger.

Well, and the book goes back to describe that there were people who were concerned as far back as 2015 that the loss of Beau was really debilitating to him. So, Greg, that begs the question, if they were concerned about him all those years ago, was the idea just to get him elected in 24 and then do the switcheroo with the vice president? Did they really think he could go another four years?

Obviously, this was written before we heard about the president's cancer diagnosis. But there's a little tidbit in the book where it talks about the doctor that is treating him was so close to him.

There are questions in the book about whether he was too close to objectively treat him in a more aggressive way. Now, with respect to this cancer, clearly didn't know a thing about that when they're writing the book. But it raises questions about whether so many people so close to him just weren't able to do their jobs objectively.

Well, and I think with this cabinet specifically this time around, he very much, he obviously wants fighters. He likes to take it to people, but he wants people who are good on TV. They know how a soundbite is going to land. And he knows with these guys that he's picked and women that they're very comfortable in that role. Rubio has been on the other side of this.

He's been the one asking questions. So he goes into this with a totally different comfort level, I think. And you saw him, like you said, turning things around on people like saying, why are we spending $10 million on circumcisions for men in Mozambique? And the people who are pushing him have got to then justify why that would be a good expenditure. Listen, the man has five jobs now.
