I think it's fair. It doesn't mean it's not a quality draft. I've just been saying it's starters, not stars. Last year we had six quarterbacks. That's so rare when you have that many quarterbacks, and quarterbacks provide the juice and the intrigue. And this year when you've got Cam Ward seems locked in at one, Travis Hunter seems locked in at two.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So there's not really that juice there at the top because we kind of feel like we know what's going on there, and then it begins at three.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
To me, and I think everybody's somewhat in this range, some have a few more, but I think Cam Ward in his own category is a quarterback, and I think there's six premier players. Some drafts you might have 13, 14. This year, there's six. Now, the difference is, it doesn't mean the 7th, 8th, 9th guy aren't really good, but to me, that group is huge. Yeah.

Quinshawn Judkins is in the early 30s for me, and grade-wise is not going to be much different than who I would have going with the 9th or 10th pick.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I gave him the same grade as I gave Bo Nix, so they would literally be right there with him. Look, he was the last of that first group to go, but outside of Jayden Daniels, you'd say he probably played the second best of all those guys. I think Cam's not quite as polished as Bo was coming out, but I think their skill set-wise is very similar.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I start with the little tier there at the very top. It's Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter. Whatever order you want to put them in, give them the same grade. It's just whatever you need. Those two guys, I got the two tight ends in that mix. So Tyler Warren, Colson Loveland. I've got Ashton Gentry up there. I think he's my third player. And then I've got Mason Graham in there.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So does that get me to the six?
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I think I think defensive line overall, like just numbers, you're going to see a ton of D linemen. Edge rushers, DTs, that's probably the largest collection, the largest number of players if you're going to look at guys that can have starter potential. I think that group's probably the deepest.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But from comparing a group to what they are historically, the tight ends and the running backs are really, really good. It's a really, really strong group of those guys compared to what we'd normally get. Not premier positions, but that's why I've argued –
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
You know, there's some years where it's like, hey, bang the table, you know, tackles, edge rushers, corners, receivers, like the premium positions, they get elevated. But this year, to me, like some of these running backs and tight ends are so good. And there's such a gap as players with them and these other premier positions. Like, I think you almost got to throw that out the window.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I think it's very, very possible. Like to me, I think there's a little bit of a game of chicken with three teams. So Pittsburgh, you know, they're in that market. They're picking 21. To me, there's like a there's like a bullseye on them of like, yeah, OK, if you want to if you're the comeback up team.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
then, you know, Sean Payton, Denver at 20, is probably going to be a hot spot where you're trying to get. And the Browns and the Giants, say if they both were in on, whether it's Shadur, whether it's Dart, they're competing against each other to see who wants to be most aggressive to go up and get the quarterback after already having secured, you know, we assume will be Hunter and Carter.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And the cost isn't that much. So you're looking at, it would be the second round pick, let's say for the Giants, 34, It would be their one of their thirds. They have two thirds would be 65 and then a fifth round pick, which is 164.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So I would think if you're the Giants or you're a fan of the Giants and you come out of it and you've got Abdul Carter and then you come out and you end up with Shador or Dart, whoever your choice is there, you still got a third round pick. So that's a that's a pretty nice haul there. You've got a quarterback of the future, but you also have a big time premier player.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I have on my list, I have Shadur. You know, he's like right around 18, 20, like in that range from my list and darts in the mid thirties. But, you know, I get to me, dart, my comp on him was kind of off the walls a little different, but he reminded me of Hertz just from the standpoint of kind of built similarly. They're like strong, sturdy, tough guys.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
They got better each and every year in college, not arriving as like a finished product, but guys that, you know, I think you're kind of buying into the kid and the competitiveness of the kid and the toughness of the kid that he's going to eventually get there. And I mean, I look, I was, it hurts like one of his first training camp practices and it was not good.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
You know, like there was, there was like, Oh gosh, what did we do type vibe there? But he just proved he's just going to outwork everybody and he's going to figure it out. And, and, and he did. So I think that's the comparison there with those, like the trajectory of those two guys.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I was at his bowl game. Can I tell you the story about his bowl game? Yes, please. I was at his bowl game and I wanted to see him. So I went, I don't think I've ever told this, but I went, I went down on the field. I was working with NFL network, but I didn't want to, I didn't want anybody to kind of recognize me. I don't think they would have.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Anyways, I probably could have worn an NFL shield and a Rob Lowe hat. Nobody would have known who I was, but I went down there right by the fence along the sideline. Cause I wanted to see like how he interacted with everybody. Cause I knew he was big and strong and athletic and all that stuff. The play on the field, he didn't play great in that game. But to me, I went down there on the sideline.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I did not see him interact with anybody. He'd come off the sideline. He wasn't talking to coaches. He wasn't around teammates. So that's when I kind of jumped ship on him at that bowl game.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Well, I mean, look, there's always going to be outliers and clunkers. Lamar Jackson, I want to say they played LSU in their bowl game, and it was not good for his final send-off there. But this is the same thing, and I don't have the medical information, so I can't stamp this as 100%.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But in talking to some people around the league, and maybe they're just apologists or have big grades on these guys, but you hear Will Howard might have been concussed in the Michigan game. You hear Jackson Dart might have been concussed in the Florida game. I'm not, I don't have that documented.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I'm just saying that there's that, that stuff floats around out there when you're talking to people, but it's not the first time somebody has had a stinker. Remember Josh Allen and who was playing with a junior high team when they went and played that Iowa game, but like had the interceptions and people just, just hung onto that one moment on him and punished him for that.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And it's like, dude, that's, you know, he wasn't even fighting a fair fight with what he had in that game, but you're going to have a game like that every now and then.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Well, I think big games are important. You know how you play in that. But I, like to me, there was a lesson in scouting and, and obviously I had to learn it the hard way, but with Josh and with my homes where it was like, okay, there's some rawness to them. There's some, some, Some issues that pop up, there's some development that needs to take place.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But when you have like combination of size, you know, ridiculous arm talent, and then incredible like competitiveness, and then you go through the later on the process, you find out, oh, yeah, by the way, they're unbelievable dudes who are incredibly smart. like these guys are going to figure it out. Like I'll, I'll take my chances on those guys who may be a little rough around the edges.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So it, you know, to get to your point there, I'm chasing ceiling with quarterbacks, maybe more than I'm looking at the floor that, you know, when you just look around the AFC and you look at the quarterbacks you have to go through, it's like to me, okay, if I, if I take a guy who has like a mid-level ceiling, but I know he's going to hit it, like I'm confident he's going to hit it.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And I have another guy with a wide range, but a higher ceiling, um, Well, either way, if I take the high-range guy and he busts, I got to go get another quarterback. If I take the guy with the mid-ceiling, two years, three years from now, I'm like, well, he's not good enough either. I got to go back and get another quarterback. So you might as well just take your swing.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Yeah. Just list. I mean, when you look at the AFC and off the top of my head, you're talking about Mahomes, Allen, Lamar Jackson, Burrow, CJ Stroud, Herbert, like you got to navigate through that gauntlet and you're going to go out there with kind of a, you know, a middling middling quarterback like you're never going to survive.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Well, I just go immediately to Gray Zabel from North Dakota State. First of all, they've put offensive linemen in the NFL. They know how to coach them. They know how to identify them. They know how to develop them. And then take guys from these non-traditional power four type programs, and they go to the senior bowl, and they not only hold their own, they're pretty dominant down there.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
That's a high batting average with those guys, man. And he can play all five positions. So, yeah, he's like that immediate name that just pops right into my head.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Dude, there's a boatload of them. But like Travion Henderson for me from from Ohio State, just because you got home run hitter, which I love. But then you've got somebody who's he's arguably and I have to go back through my notes like from way back in like the early 2000s. I don't recall off top my head a better pass protecting back coming out of college like. he's unbelievable at it.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So you've got that, which is a hard thing to find. And he possesses it. Then you've got someone who, you know, it's not, he's not a smallish back. Like he's put together. Um, he doesn't have a ton of tread on his tires because they've spread the rock around there at, uh, at Ohio state. So now he's one that I would think. And like, I know, um,
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
The Bears and people will look at that and say, gosh, that would be insane if they did that with pick number 10. But then you kind of step back and look at it, and you're like, okay, the biggest issue, as you guys know, they didn't protect last year. So we revamped the offensive line.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And now we've got a running back who can not only hit a home run, I can get him involved in the pass game, but look, you come against some of those big-time fronts, it's like having an extra lineman back there to help protect Caleb. So that would be maybe a little shock if that happened
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I just think it's the order of operation. I don't think that I have an issue with taking a running back, and I don't think most teams do. I think the mistakes are when you're a terrible team and you take a running back, knowing he's got like a six-year, seven-year shelf life, and you're going to waste two or three years of those carries on a terrible team. What's the point?
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Like you're better off building up your team. And then the second I start the clock on the running back, like it matters. All of his carries like Detroit had the offensive line. They'd already taken care of the marquee positions on defense. They had Aiden Hutchinson. So you drop Jameer Gibbs in and he hits the ground running and off you go.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But to me, if you're a bad team, bad offensive line, you can disguise a good running back with a bad supporting cast. So that's where the mistake is for me.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
A hundred percent. Yeah, it's to me, it's just that it's one of the final pieces there. Everybody talked about, you know, I think Seattle was the reason for this was kind of like you build up your roster, then you drop in the quarterback. I almost more believe so. It's the running back in terms of once you have everything built up, OK, drop him in there and off you go.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And there's teams in this draft where you look at it. And that's why.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
like normally the teams picking the top 10 aren't don't have those key bases covered and so that's why you see some of these running backs that go up there maybe don't pop as much but the bears are a different they're different like if somehow genti were to get there they've they've invested in that offensive line they have the quarterback in place they have all the key positions in defense they're in pretty good spot there um so that's why it's kind of a unique opportunity for them and
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Even if Jenty was gone, I'd be doing my homework on Hampton, who's a stud out of North Carolina. I would love to see the Bears come away with a dynamic back. I think they're ready for him.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Well, the arm length controversy goes well beyond Campbell because there were guys at the Senior Bowl who got their arms measured. And Bo, the tackle from Purdue, is one off the top of my head, whose arms magically shrunk an inch from the Senior Bowl to the Combine. So all the Combine numbers this year were low. So I don't know if they have different people doing it.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
It used to be you had the same guy would do it at the Senior Bowl, the same guy would do it at the Combine. So I'm going to go on a limb and say they have different people doing this who are doing it differently. So all the numbers are kind of jacked this year and you see the pro day numbers match more what the all-star game numbers were. So it kind of looks like the senior bowl is an outlier.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But to me, the, you know, I've never been in a, in a draft room where it was like, he's 30, 32 and seven eights, not touching him. Oh, he's 33. We're in on him. I think a little bit more of that gets made to me. It's just more about how do you play with your length?
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
On the need-length side of the argument, go watch the Super Bowl and go watch Joe Tooney, who's not long, and who the Philadelphia Eagles got into his chest and just beat the crud out of him in that game. And that was their plan coming into that game. He's a short-arm tackle. We're going to rush long, meaning we're just going to get to his chest. We're going to get extended and get to his chest.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And he struggled. There is a reason why people care about arm length. There is something to that. But I watch Rashawn Slater every week with the chargers who's got 33 inch arms, but who's built like a wrestler. He's got unbelievable core strength. And even if you get to his chest before he can get on you, he can drop his weight with incredible strength and base.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And the arm length doesn't even, it's not even an issue. So I think that's, it's kind of, that's a long way to get to it, but I do think arm length matters, but I think you have to put it in a context. Yeah.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Yeah, I mean, I think it's across the board. I think it's not just in football. I think in basketball, if you had a good basketball player at 6'5 with a normal wingspan and a player that was 6'4 with freakishly long arms, yeah, I like the guy with a lot of length because that clogs up lanes and that helps you close out and defend.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
You're always going to prefer it, but you get in trouble when you discard good play and punish them for a trait, and you get in trouble when you elevate somebody because they have traits and they can't play.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
No, look, he doesn't have the same core strength that Rashawn Slater has. I didn't give him as high of a grade as I gave Rashawn Slater. But with him, I think he can hold up. I think he's really good at recovering. He's got great feet. But to me, there are times where he's more so than his arm length. Rashawn's broad. He's narrow. Will Moore, the wingspan probably bothers me than the arm length.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
He's just kind of narrow-shouldered, and guys can kind of get on his edges a little bit. But he's such a great kid. He's so smart. He's so tough. I think the absolute worst-case scenario is he fails outside, and he's a Pro Bowl-caliber guard. So I think from that standpoint, he has a higher floor.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Sure. Big picture, I don't think we have, again, the stars, like the big-time top-10 caliber receiver that we've had in some of these previous years. But I think it's a really good group. I think there's a lot of twos and a good number of threes. I don't know that we have a number-one wideout in this class. To McMillan specifically, this is an example of maybe the polarizing nature with him.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I'd call one team and say, hey, what did you guys think of him? Well, he's super smooth. He's ultra athletic. He's got agility. He makes it look easy with his range, and he'd go get it. He has a volleyball background. I love him. Really love the kid. Talk to somebody else. There's no urgency to what he does. I don't see him really compete.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
It doesn't look like he strains much to try and make things happen, and he's a volleyball player. Come on. So I'm like, literally, they said the exact same things, and one likes him and one doesn't like him. It's just kind of all how you view it. Yeah.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Yeah, I like the day two group. There's two kids from Iowa State I think are really, really good. You've got Noel, who's kind of a power slot. He's a strong, sturdy slot who can really, really run, who can give you a run after the catch. To me, he's ready-made. Drop him in, and he's going to be super productive right away.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Then you've got Higgins on the outside, who's more of the power forward type. One of the things that I was talking to Purdy about this. One thing I never understood. I don't know if you guys have ever tackled the subject, but Why don't we include pass interference yards on totals for receivers and quarterbacks?
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But, I mean, like Higgins draws so many penalties. So, like, if you just look at his numbers on paper, like, yeah, he's got good numbers. But if you added in all the yards and the first downs that he accumulated because he's so physical and fights for the ball and draws flags, like – That's a skill, and it's a more valuable skill in the NFL than it is in college.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So those are a couple of day two guys. Jack Besch probably goes in the third round from TCU, who's another ultra, ultra competitive kid. So those are a few I like.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I think everybody I've talked to has a plan to major in minor. You know, like you're going to major in one side, minor on the other. And to me, look, we can debate all these other teams what they're going to do. Cleveland's going to take him. He's going to major in offense. He's going to minor on defense. Really? Oh. Yeah. Oh, I think so. Yeah.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I think he's more impactful as a receiver right now. To me, I think that's where you start him, especially in a team in Cleveland who doesn't have the premier quarterback. I do think they try and come away with one and get back in to take one. But to me, I think he'll be on the opposite side of Jerry Judy, and they'll get the ball in his hands as much as possible.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Yeah, I mean, first of all, as an aside, he wants to play wide receiver. I think he says he wants to play everything, but if you told him, he would say he's a wide receiver slash corner and not the other way around. Okay. He touches the football more on offense. And this is not the old days. Like, he's not a press man corner guy.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
put him on one side of the field and forget about it, leave him alone. He's at his best where he can use his instincts and eyes, play off coverage, see things, set traps, drive on the ball, make some plays. So, you know, I don't think he's not like a Pat Sertan, like coming out of college as a corner. Whereas I think he is right now ready to go.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
There's a ton of ways we can get the ball in his hands. I just think he impacts the game more on offense at this point in time. And it's never really been done. Everybody that's had this two-way ability, it's always been major on defense, package of plays on offense. So I realize in saying that, look, this is new. This is a new Uncharted Waters, so to speak.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
But to me, that's what makes the most sense for him.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
The teams who don't need a quarterback or aren't picking high enough to take one are going to be very vocal about how upsetting this is. And the teams that are picking up high and need quarterbacks are not going to give two cents about it. Nobody's going to care. It's talent over everything. So it's going to have zero impact on guys and where they go. And we're already used to this.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Last year, I mean, shoot, the last... I don't know, maybe five years. The rarity is the guy who's been at one stop. All these guys have bounced all over the place. Now, what the motivation is for that... People can get upset about it if they want. But, you know, from a scouting standpoint with with Nico specifically, I haven't seen a ton of him, but I've seen a ton of the Tennessee offense.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And it's kind of like that old Baylor Art Bryles offense where they're literally could touch the hand of the coach on the sideline. It's hard to translate that to the next level from an evaluation standpoint. You know, I don't know what exactly UCLA's offense is going to look like, but I'm kind of excited to see him from an evaluator standpoint in a different offense.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Exactly, man. What does it matter? I mean, that's my whole point. I mean, I just think... There's teams every year that need upgrades and are desperate, and they are not going to give a crap about any of this stuff.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I've been in a draft room where we had a player with some character issues that we viewed as like a third round pick. And we had a black dot on him, which meant he was undraftable. And then all of a sudden in the sixth round, our director said, print up a new card, take the black dot off. He's been punished enough. How'd he work out? It's perfect. He hung around for a few years.

He wasn't a great player, but for a six round pick, he was, it was functional.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I mean, that would probably kill the surprise. I can't think of one. There's none that I'm looking at as a sneaky quarterback team. I mean, the Rams have been mentioned, but I don't know. I mean, I don't think they would do it early, but Matthew's older, and maybe they take one on day two or something like that. But Tua's been hurt. Maybe that could be a surprise there, but they've paid him.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
It seems like that would catch me off guard. So if there is one, I'll be as caught off guard as anybody.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
yeah um tweeners that have worked out well i mean like brandon graham is like kind of my classic tweener um he was kind of in between body type of a defensive tackle and an edge rusher and and you know it's like how where do we use him best i was there in philadelphia when he was there and i was like well his it's better to have his power advantage over a tackle than his quickness advantage over a guard but he's like you know kind of a classic example of a
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
of a tweener. When I'm looking at guys in this draft, you know, this draft, we have a lot of these DTs are all over 300 pounds. Normally we get some of these 275, 280 pound guys. We don't have as many of those this year. Like Elijah Roberts from SMU. Probably like a third round pick, but he's one that you kind of go, okay, does he play inside? Does he play outside?
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Savion Jones from LSU is another one. Kind of a tweener there. So there's a few of them sprinkled in throughout here, but it's not a huge tweener year. Maybe the other one I would say is Nick Skorton from A&M. Nick Skorton is fascinating because he is someone when I watched him, I, gosh, I didn't see like big time juice and take off at A&M last year.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
And then I found out after the fact, well, they bulked him up to 280. They wanted him to be bigger. So he got up to 280 pounds. Well, he shows up at his pro days, 257. And he's moving around good. He looks great. And that was, you know, teams like you got to go back and watch him when he was at Purdue the year before because he was lighter and he looks like a different guy.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So he's one that's just kind of weird that you're going to see the guy when he gets picked and be like, that doesn't even look like the same human being as the guy that you saw last year.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Well, you guys, I know, Dan, you talked to Harbaugh, so I don't know if he's into manifestation, but it just feels like I think every night he's going to bed with Colston Loveland's picture like on the wall and he just stares at it like this is going to happen. I believe it. He will be here. So that's one I would say. And then I will say with the Houston Texans. This one, I'll go with Booker.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I'll go with Tyler Booker from Alabama. When you have the connection with Nico Ryan's to Alabama, and then when I talk to the guys at Alabama about Tyler Booker, they say he was the offensive Will Anderson, who also was with the Houston Texans. So I'm like, there's a lot of stuff working together there.
Pardon My Take

Tell them to save their time on that graphic, though. Don't do that unless it actually happens, which the odds are very low.

Oh, that's a great question. Great question. Thank you. So I'll give you like an example of someone. He might even go beyond that. But there's a safety, Woodson, Craig Woodson from Cal, who's – I'm like one of those guys where I don't kind of – I don't know what I'm missing. Like he's got enough size. He takes the ball away. He ran the mid-4-4s.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
I talked to the guys at Cal, like super smart, great leader. Cal's been like a sneaky good – secondary factory over the years. There's certain schools that you kind of are surprised when you dig into it and you're like, gosh, there's a lot of guys playing in the NFL at this position from this school.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
So he's one, I think to me, I have him like in the like early to mid third round and maybe he goes in like the fifth, fifth round, you know, when it's all said and done, but I think you'll look up and he'll be starting next year.
Pardon My Take
NFL Draft With Daniel Jeremiah, Timberwolves HC Chris Finch, Playoffs Are Here And We Have A Thunder Fan Refusing To Wear The Shirt
Now, this one's interesting because if he were to go in the third or fourth round, I wouldn't be shocked because his play's really good. But because of some other factors, mainly his size, I could see him falling into the sixth or seventh round. So it's not like I'm creating a quarterback out of thin air here. You guys all know him. You've all seen him play a bunch.
Pardon My Take

He's got a strong arm, man. He is not, he is, you know, he's 5'11", he's older, but he's got a really strong arm. I've kind of advocated if you're the Dolphins, and I know they brought over Zach Wilson, but that'd be a, I mean, shoot, just bring him in there. If you can get him in the third, fourth round, Noah Tua is more than likely to miss some games.
Pardon My Take

Like, I think he could do everything that, you know, Tua can do.

I don't know, man. The only thing that I know is they have – we do the puppy thing. Like we bring in the rescue puppies and the one peed on me two years ago. So that's like the only thing I'm prepared for is just bring an extra shirt and try and work on my technique. It's like all the ball security stuff that they teach you in football –

Oh, man. Are you kidding me? And then you got to do a whole weekend like they do the thing in Newport Beach. I don't know where you guys want to take the guy if there's a cost involved there. I don't know if you want to be cost conscious, but you'd have to put together a whole weekend for the player like they do for Mr. Irrelevant.

Yeah, I think it's a great point. I do think this is like the edge group, man. It's not cake and eat it too with this group, man. It is the most traits versus production edge group that I've ever seen. I literally get off the phone with one defensive coordinator, turn around and talk to another GM or head coach, and it's like they see it completely opposite in terms of these guys.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
So that comp of six guys, which those are the names, those are going to go in all different orders. But there are some teams who are more – that prefer like the rugged edge guy that like squirting their squirting teams.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And then they see the upside with, with tomorrow from, uh, from Ohio state, like those early second round, some teams think that, and I, I, I like those guys again, it's gotta be the right defense, the right scheme, the right fit that those guys have a place.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
But to me, like the, I don't know how else to answer the question than to say, like, if, if you don't get on the, uh, if you don't go to the first concert on the tackle tour, there is no second concert. Like it's it, man. Like they're gone.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And that's why if, if I'm going over my list and you said, tell me the one guy where you have him, where he's going to go much higher than you have him at greater as a player, Kelvin Banks is going to go way ahead of where I have him. Like I have 20s and if he could go in the top 10 when it's all said and done. So I didn't think, I didn't think I saw a top 10 player on tape.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Todd, you referenced the, the size, the athleticism. He's a great kid. He's played a lot of ball. So he's, I've just accepted that fact, you know, and I went back and watched a little more and I'll move them up a little bit, maybe into the early twenties, but I couldn't, you know, just for me. And that's the weird part, right?
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
When you're doing this without a team to draft for, and you're stacking these guys, like it's going to look different this year because some of these teams that you're going to see, you're going to see a need-based approach this year, maybe more so than any, I can remember.

The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
yeah yeah so anyway three years there's a lot there's a lot more to go off of now too and there's so much easier ways to sort stuff too where you can jam video whereas a lot of times back in those days we're watching especially like if you're an area guy going in there you're watching three four games and moving on to the next school like now you can watch literally in a very convenient efficient manner every single pass rush of his you know going back years and just knock it all out you get a i think it's easier to scout now than it was back oh it's so much easier you
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
A thousand percent on the, on the pass rusher thing, which I love the topic. A couple of different things I was thinking of why, why Todd was talking there. I was at a Padre game last week and you guys know I'm a huge Padre fan. So I go up there and I visit with AJ Preller, who's done an unbelievable job, you know, building baseball teams and we love talking about scouting.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And so I just said, I said, you know, we're talking about pass rushers. I was talking with a defensive line coach the other day. And I said, well, you know, what would you rather have a wide repertoire or would you rather have a guy who can just be a dominant in one aspect or another? Like he gets legit power, legit speed or what have you.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And he said, look, in college, like you see a lot of guys who are real, real technicians and they can win five different ways against crappy college tackles, but they don't have one elite talent. way of getting to the quarterback.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Yeah, good to see you, DJ. It's been a minute. I'm doing well. How are you? I'm doing great, man. You are absolutely crushing it, by the way. Not only the content, I don't know who you got working on this thing, but like the quality of videos that you guys are promoting, what you guys are doing from a podcast standpoint is ridiculous.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And in the NFL, the only way to a quarterback is to possess an elite trait, whether that's with your speed, whether that's with your power, the guys that are technicians can get there, but it takes more time because they're going to have to accumulate the knowledge base and learning different tackles, learning tendencies.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And then they can kind of think their way to the quarterback, but that's, those guys don't transition right away. Liatu Latu last year was the polished pass rusher out of UCLA did not have an immediate impact. look at what Trey Hendrickson has become. And he's developed a lot of these things, but he was kind of a technician. Now he's kind of learned other ways to get there.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And it was probably year three or four when he started to explode. So I'm talking to him about pitchers. And I go, I go, AJ, like, how would you guys look at pitchers? Would you have a pitcher, like a five pitch mix? You know, he said, no, give me Randy Johnson, fastball slider. That's, that's all that you need. The guy, there's a bunch of guys like that who are dominating players with two pitches.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
So some of these college guys, I think, They play the game the way they have to play it to beat college tackle. That's the point. That's the one. So he's got to develop, he's got to shrink his arsenal and he's got to develop some power, which he hasn't shown yet. And I think he will, but I think to me, like I like him, but I'll say when he gets picked, Hey, be patient.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Don't expect that this is going to light the world on fire year one, year two. This is going to be a little bit of a process for him. I'm going to bet on him. I like his length. I like kind of compact guys with long arms. And I think he's really freaking smart. And he figured out how to beat college tackles.

You know, by the way, real quick, Todd, how much have you enjoyed? I've enjoyed the heck out of realignment, man. Like getting a chance to see like the West Coast, like USC and UCLA, Washington, Oregon, get to play against all the Big Ten offense and defensive linemen. Like it's made that a heck of a lot easier.

He had another one against A&M, too, so that helped his cause. When he was running away from everybody at the Texas A&M field, you're like, okay, this guy, that's enough for me. But to your question, and Todd, I'll kick it to you, but it's just a line of scrimmage to me. It's hard to evaluate a tackle who's going up against an accountant and a doctor. It's hard.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
So that, to me, the line of scrimmage is tougher. The skill guys, and especially if you can get them in an all-star setting, that can be the answer to the test.

Well, I think I feel pretty certain about one, that being locked in. I would say if you're going to put a percentage on it, it seems like everything's directing and trending towards Travis at two. Yeah, Todd, I think I'm going to take my swing with Jackson Dart here. I just think his physicality matches the division there. I like the fact that he's rugged. I like the fact he keeps getting better and better. Shuck, the age doesn't bother me as much as the durability bothers me. So, and I know, by the way, your take on...
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
My least favorite thing that people say during this time here, they're a bunch of freak injuries. They don't count. They're just freak injuries. So those don't count towards your durability. Your thoughts?
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Yeah, I mean, I just go purely at that point in the draft. If there's not a tackle that I'm intrigued in, then I know they went out and got a tackle on free agency. Like I'm buying all the tackles if I'm Kansas City because I've lost two Super Bowls because we stunk at those positions. So I'm just stacking up as much depth as possible there at the tackle position.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
But faced with these three options, Hampton's my 13th overall player. So you're talking about a ridiculous value here. And If the offensive line does have issues, what does he give you? He gives you easy completions, too, out of the backfield. And he's a complete back. He's not bad in pass protection. There's a lot of value he provides other than just carrying the ball, which he's really good at.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast

Yeah. I'll, I'll give you the two different things in the meeting room. This like, I I'm pretty sure that this conversation is taking place in different meeting rooms in the, in the pro and the comp. I think we're going to play a lot of 13 personnel. If I'm doing that, I know they've got tight ends, but I just can't pass on that dude, man. The best part about this whole thing is I cannot wait for the aggregators to somehow confuse this and say McShay is reporting that the Falcons are trading Michael Pennant. Right.

The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Yeah. No, I've heard that a bunch, and a lot of it's with you bring in an older quarterback, you bring in an older coach, and they're trying to win this next year. This is not a team that's – they want to turn this thing around, and it's a big piece for them. So I've heard that. The other one I would say is – The Houston Texans, it's going to be the law firm at Booker Banks.

well, we'll see how high this guy goes because I, I jumped on this bandwagon at the, at the, at the jump. But to me, when I looked at today, Baron, I like he said, he started, I was like my ninth player. I think it's like my 11th or 12th player out of Texas.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And I, you say, okay, well then, yeah, obviously he's going to go in the first round, but like, dude, I thought branch would go in the first round. I thought Cooper would go in the first round. And the league somehow punished these guys for being inside players, you know, or, you know, moving to safety is going to be a nickel. Like what's the like? They're freaking great players, man.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Just take them. So like that would be the one where I think, yeah, I'd be an upset if he didn't go in the first round. But I feel like I've seen this episode before. I've seen a player of this caliber in this role slide when he shouldn't have.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Yeah, this also is the time of year, like you said, Todd, where like the graphic that's already been made by your social media department about the number of first round picks you have at your school was in jeopardy because the guy's dropping and you hear from the head coach of like, I don't understand why he's not going in there. I'm like, I don't pick. I'm not picking here, coach.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
I got no power here whatsoever.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
Yeah, first of all, it's a system issue more than the player issue. Just set it up where these guys are locked in with contracts. You get the money, but you have to commit to us as we're committing to you.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
However, I don't know all the legalities of that, but figure out a formula and a system where we can have it just like we have it at the professional level because this is professional football now. The second thing is, and I posted something about this, and it wasn't necessarily specifically about Nikko. I don't know any of these guys' situations. I don't.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
And I'm always reluctant to be lobbing grenades from the sideline with partial information. I know of stories during this era, Todd, where I know where a prospect has told the NIL agent, do not let it get out how much money I'm making because my family's going to come for all of it. And that's aunts and uncles and parents and nephew. Everybody is going after that.
The Ryen Russillo Podcast
The Annual Todd McShay–Daniel Jeremiah NFL Draft Fest!
So I'm always reluctant when they're like and people said like, oh, two million dollars isn't enough. And I'm like, look, I don't know this kid from Adam, but in Southern California, two million dollars. And you got a bunch of aunts and uncles and cousins and parents that you would have to prop up. That money's gone. So I don't begrudge anybody for trying to go get more money.

The, the, the GMs that you talked to during this time of the year that are super bummed are the GMs that are picking after the Pittsburgh Steelers at the bottom of round one, because their conversation is like, gosh, I'd love to get the heck out of here. But the teams that are coming back up for a quarterback have identified Pittsburgh as a potential landing spot for quarterbacks.

So if I'm picking behind Pittsburgh, I'm screwed because if they want to trade back up for a quarterback, they got to get to 20 and that's Denver. So it's, it's 20 or North. If you're going to bypass those guys at the top and that's,
The Ryen Russillo Podcast

Just the overall feeling, Ryan, on the quarterback class and on the draft, I would say, to kind of put a bow on this little thing, Cam Ward's in his own category, done, locked, number one, viewed as a first-round pick in most drafts. He's that caliber of a player, however you stack him with previous drafts. He's viewed as a first-round guy.

I would say there's not universal acceptance of the rest of these quarterbacks as first-round guys. And I'm telling you, there's a big difference. I've been I joined two organizations after drafts where they had two first round picks and I joined Baltimore after they took Bowler. Right. So Kyle Bowler ends up being a monumental bust. But it took Terrell Suggs before they took Bowler. So Suggs was.

the first person to speak at that press conference. That worked out all right. Cleveland takes Brady Quinn, but before they took Brady Quinn, who didn't work out, they took Joe Thomas, Hall of Famer.

So to me, there's a difference between introducing Abdul Carter and then asking Jackson Dart to come speak, and that's a different level of pressure on that kid and on your organization than we just took Shadur Sanders with the third pick. Is Campbell a reach in the 4-5 range to tackle from LSU? Historically, yes, probably. In this draft, not for me.

I mean, I think he's like ninth or eighth, ninth, tenth player. I don't have it right in front of me right now. But it's such a screaming need for New England and what they're playing with right now. And I think he's going to be, at worst, he's going to be eight, ten-year starter somewhere along your offensive line. If he has to kick in, he has to kick in. But on that one, I think the...

The work ethic and tangibles, everything you hear out of LSU is worthy of that pick. The tape probably is not. But in this draft, that's that's what we have.

Yeah, it's a good running back group. With him specifically, I've always had kind of this philosophy on running backs. We've talked about it. I think, Ryan, we maybe even had this conversation earlier this year about the Detroit thing, what Todd was just mentioning, what Jameer Gibbs. And I think, to me, the importance is the order of operation.

I've just kind of used the analogy of, hey, you've got to do your shopping at the hardware store before you go to the toy store. Detroit built up the line of scrimmage. They had the offensive line. They had the key positions. They had the edge rusher on the defensive side of the all the marquee guys, all the marquee spots filled. Okay.

Now you can drop the running back in and do it with a high resource. And I have no problem with that whatsoever. When you get in trouble is if you get the cart before the horse, knowing these running backs only have, you know, most of them six, like a six-year, seven-year max prime, and you've wasted three years on bad teams of those carries.

I want all of your carries to matter once I start the clock on the running back. So that's kind of been my philosophy there. But Jenty is a player. He's my third player in this draft. And people, and I've talked to teams and kind of said, this kind of sums up this draft. It's a little different than years past. Three of my top seven players are two tight ends and a running back like that. Yeah.

So at some point in time, it's like I get positional value. I would love to throw a bunch of tackles up there and a bunch of proven edge rushers and quarterbacks and stack those guys up at premium positions. They're not in this draft. And I think like you make big mistakes when you pass on a great player at a lesser position to take somebody just to fill a need.

Like, I think that's when you mess up, man.

I've used the term for this real quick, Ryan. It's just as a starters draft, not a stars draft. So you're literally your goal was to leave this draft with three or four starters like solid starters. You do that like you did a good job. That's the goal.
