I always heard, you know, scam, things like that. Like, don't get yourself set up in that. You're going to get yourself somewhere where you don't want to be. Don't get involved with people like that. Shirley was always involved in some sort of scam or scheme or something.

She could do no wrong in his eyes. When she got thrown in jail for, what, 19 months, Albert was driving from Manhattan down to Framingham every weekend to visit her ass in jail. I mean, that's true love. That's commitment right there.
Big Time
The Stupendous Shirley S. | 7
She used to push me around Central Park every day when the weather was nice. She'd take me in the stroller and, you know, roll me around Central Park. Her and Albert taught me how to walk and crawl and talk.

Bougie, glamorous. It had these big, huge bay windows in the living room that just overlooked the whole entire skyline of Manhattan. The bedroom is what I remember the most. Mirrors everywhere. The bed. That bed, that duvet cover was all monogrammed. Everything was SDS and baby blue. The pillowcases, the duvet, the towels, everything.
Big Time
The Stupendous Shirley S. | 7
Oh, no, no, no, no. Yep, there you go. That's hilarious. Gotta love her.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And the other one wouldn't like that's happened before where we're like, we've just like said, okay, fine. You go for it. Like you By the way, it would never be between the two of us.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
But there was never a role specifically where I was like, wow, I really wish that had been me. And like, I kind of bummed it was out. Like never. Like for me, it was like, I thought it was so cool that she was like an EZA and Hellcats and like, she's done great work and it always felt like it should be Allie. You know what I mean? And I always want to be her over anyone else.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
So if I'm not going to book it, it better be her.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
So you never called. So right. So then meanwhile, I'm like, I don't need to be competitive because I don't need to worry either.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Or there was a moment where I like tested for something and the leading guy I thought was really cool and then Ally actually ended up dating him later. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it wasn't like I was also with him. No, no.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Right. And she knows all the inside. How do you detail it out? You can't. She's like, I know. I experienced all of it.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Calabasas. Calabasas. Yeah. Yes, we were Calabasas kids. Before it was cool. Way before it was cool. Love that for you guys. When it was a Johnny Rockets, you know what I mean? Like we're that far back.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
It's actually almost a diss to call it a friendship. It's like, no, this is living on another level. That's a great point.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
How did you find out? It like blew up the friendship and the relationship.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I don't even know how it came out, but it happened in the Calabasas Commons parking lot. Yes.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I really love where I am. Yeah. But I think down the road I would. I absolutely would. And I think it's a beautiful place to raise a son.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah. Which is kind of a form of ghosting. It's not great. It is. It is. I think you should have the conversation.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yes. It can make it too big of a deal. But it was usually because it was based on something that happened that I was like, I can't really not see this now, and it's here, and let's talk about it. And this is why I can't go forward as a friend. But I think that's good advice.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yes. She would like nudge me. It's like, and I'd be like, she wants a turkey sub, cheese and no mustard, no mustard, whatever.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah, to me, some things don't need a spotlight. True.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
But it is sad when a part of your childhood in that way kind of dies. You're like, wait, I just said bye to a friend in a way that I know I'm not really going to connect with again.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
We're both breathing so heavy. We're all like, I'm like, yeah, I think I would contact her. I think I would.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Then it makes her feel like, are you making this up that you're really the other woman? Like, yeah, you look insane. Yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I would be like, I'm sick. I'm ill. Like this happened. I need you to know. And I'm so sorry. Bye.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Well, I want to think if I'm the same woman who's going to tell the person I was the other woman and didn't know until just now, I'd be that same person to say this. That's a good point. I'd like to think those two ladies are the same person. I agree.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I think now in my 30s, that is how I would approach it. But it would take me a hot minute to come to that. Yes. Like bravery. Yeah. OK, we're doing this. You'd call your sister first. Yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
No, at that point we were fully in. Like a SAG card in hand, doing commercials.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
There will be times we're all like sidebar chat to her and I'll be like, just so you know, you're talking in a way that if this leads to more, you're in the wrong track.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Before Steven and Josh? No, I don't think so. I don't think so. That's become more of an adult like.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
That means it's really bad. Run. It's kind of like firing someone that's like, you're not doing this. I'm not leaving. What? But why would you want me now? Like if I'm firing you, you're not going to be a good match.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
that ain't how it works no when someone doesn't want you listen to them and leave yes believe them oh my god okay wait so when you met Ali's husband like were you immediately you like no in the beginning I was like I think she was a little judgmental like hated there's some crossover that's happening here I was a little judgy I'm not gonna lie even though I knew Ali was gonna get out of it I was like you should have gotten out of it like six months ago and then you'd be like free and clear but whatever
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
He turned into the husband, so I'm happy. And he's literally become like my brother. Like, I love him. And I have so much respect for him as a husband and dad. Like, to watch him as a father, like, it's really beautiful. But in the beginning, I was like... I don't know about this guy. Like he was really shy. He was really quiet.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I don't do great with quiet people except for like when I was translating. She's a translator. But like in general, like I'm like, come on, like, let's go. Like, let's have a conversation. Like I've got a really bubbly personality and he was just very quiet. He's like an intellectual. He's very, he's super grounded, super smart.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And I think I felt maybe like a little like, okay, here's this like Ivy league guy. I'm not going to be able to like carry a conversation with him. He's probably smarter than me. Like, I think I was intimidated. I get that.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yes. And then he did. And I was like, I love him. Although two years later when he proposed. I like sobbed. Oh yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah. I got so, not because I wasn't happy for Allie. I literally felt like I'm like, I'm going to lose my sister. I think like I had this weird, unrealistic idea that a marriage meant that then the sisterhood would be over.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Like I literally went up, we were living together in Laurel Canyon and we were sharing a place and I went upstairs. I lived in the top loft and I like closed my closet door and I sobbed. I was so happy for her. But at the same time I was like, I'm literally going to lose my sister. And it didn't happen at all.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
On the wedding night, God bless our dad, but we were doing a dance, even though it was a father-daughter dance later down the road. It wasn't my father-daughter dance. You had had yours, but I was later dancing with dad. And I was like, this is a really sweet moment. And dad goes, honey, how are you doing? And I was like, I'm really happy for them. I feel really good about this.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And he was like, that's awesome. You know what? You lost a sister, but you gained a brother. And I was like, what the, huh? I mean, it was everything I had cried about. He didn't need my dad. Just our dad talks like that. And I was like, huh? You're like, wait, come again. You're like, dad, this is why I've been mentally unwell for the past couple of years. Yes. Unwell.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
But this is also the same man. Love you, dad. Shout out to dad and mom. Great people. This is also the same man who like lost his father a few years ago and Steven never got to meet him. Our grandpa. Oh, And literally at the funeral told Stephen.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
At the funeral told Stephen, I want you to meet my dad. And he was dead in the castle. But he's in the, like that's. Like we're just, we're not, we're not totally. Like that verbiage is interesting. It's just interesting. You're like, dad. I want you to meet my dad. It's no longer okay.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I do. It's been six years. Yeah. How did you guys meet? We met at a film festival in Napa. Oh, yeah. Um, Ali and I, I know it was actually bougie. Ali and I had made a film with her husband that had gone to the Napa Valley Film Festival and he had produced and starred in a short film that was shortlisted for an Oscar that year that was also premiering at the film festival. Oh, wow.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And it was an amazing short film. And him and I met and like, there was like a spark, but at the time he was with his girlfriend there and I was dating someone in Canada. Classic. I loved Long Distance for a while, which was just really an odd phase. Yeah, And I just was like, gosh, I'm going to know this guy for a while. And I don't know how or why. And it's going to happen at some point.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
But I remember he was wearing this like lumberjack red, black flannel. And I was just like, this guy is hot. And he's like salt of the earth vibes. And then down the road, a year later, he was single. I was single. And we connected on Instagram.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I don't know. What do you feel like? I feel like because you already had Steven in play for such a good chunk of your life, you've lost some of that because you're set and you're like, she's got this.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
True. In a way, I've been more judgmental about who she's dated than the other way around. Which again, maybe is the little sister, big sister thing.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And then I came home. But when you wrapped, we ended up living together. We lived with our mom while she kind of dealt with getting her life back together after the divorce. Like we, it would ended up being like a home of three women. Like we kind of, it was like three's company, but just, just ladies.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah, because season one had aired. It was weird.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
forgive our father and like I actually feel like we're in a great place now but at the time it was really hard for me and I think when I was dating people I immediately had this trigger that like they're gonna cheat on like they're gonna like because how could that happen after 23 years of marriage like I feel bad talking about it because I love my dad but like it really was one of those things that became a trigger point that like didn't really need to be there like no one needs to be assuming you're being cheated on you just feel like you've seen it now so you're like it's gonna happen it's it's horrible I also think like
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Here we go. That I am in my heart. I love it. I'm kidding. I love you. I'm joking.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Thank you. Facials, massages. Oh yeah, the spa, the spa. We both love a spa, but I tend to like maybe do it a little too much.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Oh my gosh. I have it. Oh, wow. Allie started doing this in the last, like, year very consistently. I actually don't think I have addressed it with you. Oh, my God. Where she'll go, maybe you could do that. Yeah, you're right. It's me. It's me being there. She'll start a sentence that she's asking you to do something, but instead it's like, maybe you could get that bottle, like, for Jack.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Or, like, maybe you could get that. That's true. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know how you word it exactly. I think it starts with maybe you could.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And it's like a, you want me to? Like, you want me to or I could maybe do it? And I'll do it.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I mean, I'd rather you just say, like, do that. Get the burp cloth. Maybe you could. Maybe you could. Oh, interesting.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
they're still on the ground and you're like I literally cleaned for you I'm like I cleaned for the OCD like just trying to get ahead of it but that's OCD you can't it's the beauty it has to be your way you know what I mean it doesn't make any damn sense but it's your way there's nothing logical nothing logical it's like this pile of clothes you're lucky I did not reorganize this bookshelf I can't imagine what it's actually feeling in this room it's only in my own space that's what's weird it's never in someone else's ever who is the first to usually apologize if you guys are coming back from a fight probably AJ
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Oh my God. Yes. Her water broke in like day two of like pre-production at her house at my, yeah. In the guest room. Wait, that's kind of like, I was texting with Steven. It was very, it was like, what's going on in there? He's like, I think her water broke. I was like, What? We just started the album.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Although that is pretty funny. Ally's like, clean it up. I was like, clean it, clean it. Get the rags.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
The writing was finished. So I would say the writing took a solid year. Yeah. Yeah. Before we really were ready to be like, these are the 15 songs we want to record. We're very like, like just maybe just under maybe just under a year. Yeah. This is a hard question. What is your favorite song off the album? That's hard.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I'm so happy with this record, but I really think my number one is Michael's song. We wrote it about a really dear friend of ours that we had worked with in the industry for years and he passed away last year. And we were like, we have to write about this.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
We were on tour during the funeral. We weren't able to come. Our parents came on behalf of us, which was really sweet. We're really close to his daughter and his wife. Literally like a longstanding member of the Allie and AJ team.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Give it a go. Mango citrus? It's good. It's yummy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
actually already written but I'm learning new things about what we've written after the fact like to me when a song takes on a new life but it had a different meaning when you wrote it yes like I don't know what it is now when I listen to that song and I picture your home which you've now created from the ground up as like a beautiful nest I'm like whoa this is so different than how we came at this song writing it thinking we're splitting up as sisters we're no longer going to live in the canyon by each other we're like what are we doing we're going to be torn apart and it's like yeah no we're just shifting into other parts of our life chapter
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
This is what I love how songwriting teaches you something, but you wrote it like in a year later, you're listening to it differently. It's kind of prophetic in a way. That's really cool. It is prophetic.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And we're not in our 20s anymore, which we just got reminded by an executive. Yeah, literally. Stop. No. We went to have a meeting. Like, I'm not kidding, like a label meeting. Literally like last week. The note was like, we love the record. We think it's amazing. But like, we're not here to break women in their 30s. Like, we're here to break pop stars in their 20s.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I was like, we're still young as hell. And I was like, now I'm reminded that we're not somehow.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Because I'm like, I've never even thought of myself as not being in the zeitgeist.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I know. Also, I'm like, we're not horses. Yeah, yeah, totally. You don't need to break us. Totally. And we've broken.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Um, I don't think we would have known anything to compare it to. Yeah, I don't think it's crazy when you have a job that young. Of course.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
very clear about like yeah you can go to this event you can promote this project but like you're not gonna go to like some late after party with a bunch of adults when you guys are underage like I just feel like when you're younger you can kind of get away if you're in the industry but just rolling into every situation yes and you're like a little mini adult even though you really shouldn't be it's not really the time and place for that time in your life like you just shouldn't be at those kind of things at that age like a
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
You know what I mean? In a way. We had done Cowbells. The music had aired a lot. Yeah. On Disney Channel. Cowbells. I guess Cowbells we were just starting to like dive into. Yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yes that is true. Now you bring up all the old stuff. I know. We gotta go through it. In a bowling alley. It was so innocent. A bowling alley? It was sweet.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
We met on tour. So the Jonas Brothers opened for us. And that's when we started, like, there was, like, a spark. And I was like, oh, this would be fun. Like, we started dating on that.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
It was a natural thing. But we were all buddies. Of course. We were. And it was a really fun tour. But I think beyond that, so like for me, it's like we were homeschooled our whole lives. We didn't experience school dances. We didn't, but instead we had tour like at a really young age. Like to me, I wouldn't trade any of it. Cause I'm like our experiences on the road were so cool.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And it's actually why I love touring as an adult. Cause I think it was ingrained in me at a young age that it was a really cool opportunity to have this moment to connect with your fans every night on stage.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
And I love it. It's very natural for us. I think some people dive in as an adult and they're like, I don't and be on the road. And we're like, we love it. Bring it on. Right, you're like, this is all we ever know.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
So anyway, I wouldn't, yeah, there's nothing I would really trade. I just wanted to finish that off.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
We actually became really good friends with his girlfriend during that show. Like he was dating. Yeah, that is true.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
You did. Yeah. I think we had a healthy like teenage life. Yeah.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
The channel got very lucky having us under the umbrella.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah, no, you're right. I don't even know what it is. It's like luck, I feel like. Maybe it's just luck. But also like Allie and I, this sounds kind of ridiculous, but when we got a little older but we weren't quite like drinking age, people like kind of in LA started like trusting us as the girls that would like go into Ledoux but not get hammered. They're like, let them in.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Like we knew some of the bouncers and they would just like mark our hand and they'd be like, we trust you, come on in.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
Yeah, and it's not being, like, a kiss ass. It was just, like, who we were. Who we were. Which I think is.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
We just didn't think it was cool. We didn't think it was cool. Like as kids, we were like, why did we do the Ally and AJ thing? Because now it's just like- It's very memorable. But no, the duo thing didn't bug us. Didn't. No, no.
Call Her Daddy
Aly & AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters
I think the only time where we felt like, okay, we're getting, um, asked to go out for the same roles and we feel really strongly that one of us is really right for this. And would you mind standing down?
Call Her Daddy
Alix Earle: Secrets, Sex & Scandals (FBF)
Hi, I'm Alyssa, and I'm Alex's mother. I believe Alex got her craziness, her kindness, and her energy for having fun from me, and all the other good stuff from her dad. My house is a little cleaner when she's not around, but other than that, we miss her energy.

He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
He's not coming to June to visit me. Stop. You don't understand. I got to go. She's coming in June to visit. I got to go. Love you. No, what are they asking me? They're not asking you anything.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
It's not. He's already. Oh, my God. This is ridiculous. I'm also going to have to talk to her tonight. Wait, who is this?
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
That's how she knows. I met him at a bar. You went on a date? We didn't do a date.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Don't. I swear to motherfucking God, don't.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, I hear you. I got to go. I'll talk to you later.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
All right. Love you. Bye. No, no, no. I got to go. I'm working.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
All right. Well, you go to work. I go to work. I'll talk to you later.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
We're looking at him. Or is he too high to talk to me?
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
No, I got to go. Bye. Love you. She does edibles every night. Bye. Bye.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
What did you tell her? I am going to kill you guys.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
You always attack me, so she knows that.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, but it's not serious. I only tell her things when it's serious.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, but I could have done that myself.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yes, but now that she knows, now she knows I was lying to her because of how you set it up.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
So now I'm going to get even more deep shit because I was not up front.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I'm already close enough to my mom. Clearly not.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
For her benefit. Anyways, let's go back to this.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Okay, the photo description. He's taking a selfie next to a girl's butt. The word curtains is written across her cheeks. The misspelling of curtains may be intentional. The caption, they say the caption, possible interpretations. Out of thumb is out of thumb. This phrase is not standard slang. It seems intentionally weird or garbled.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Could be a play on words like I'm the type of guy to thumb your bitch.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Slang for putting a thumb somewhere intimate, which is crude. Out of thumb might mean he ran out of thumbs because he's used them on so many women.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Or he's saying he's wild enough to do something ridiculous like use a thumb inappropriately. Curtains on the butt, probably meant to be curtains with an eye, which could be a euphemism for either a theatrical metaphor like the show's starting and her butt is the stage. I like that.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Something cruder like alluding to her anatomy.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
The vibe. The whole post is shock humor.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, like the curtains open. The show's about to begin.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
TLDR means to... Too long down the road.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Oh. Little Pump is saying in his signature dumb guy genius way that he's the type of guy who would thumb your girlfriend. And he's doing it next to a girl with curtains on her butt because he lives in a cartoon universe where nothing has to make sense as long as it's outrageous. Want me to mock up a fake quote or meme in his style?
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Oh, it's going to take a while. This always happens every time I ask for an image.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
No, this girl seems cracked out of her mind. Machete feels like four to me.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Oh, that would be funny. Maybe we'll do that for the after school special since you're off. Gins.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
He was like, oh, who am I going to call from Rochester, PA?
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
There's just so many phone calls happening. We're recording the podcast. Sorry.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
This bit might need to be bleeped, but did that... I cannot believe she called you. Don't ever call her, please.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Don't. That's inappropriate, first of all. How is that inappropriate? I have to be in the room. You have to contact me.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, but that's different. Why? I don't know what.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, but you can't be saying shit like he just said. I would never say that. He would, and sometimes you would too.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I'm not. You are. I know how my mom operates. I know how she is. She's being cool, calm, and collected right now for the videos and the people and you guys. But when it's me and her one-on-one, it's different.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
She might just be cool. She is cool, but sometimes she gets a little feisty, and she's terrifying when she's feisty.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I did, and then I didn't. Because, I don't know. I mean, my whole family has thick skin. Just, I mean, what are we doing here? Is it snack time or something? That's the second snack of chips you've had today, and you call me snack whore.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
The second bag of chips. He had a Cheetos earlier, shoving down your gauntlet.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I was just going to say it does suck because... I have learned that it takes longer and harder for women to lose the weight.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
No, part of that is the kitchen and the food, but it is also a true statement.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, that's fair, but it is true that women have a harder time. I will say, Skylar just told me.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Show some disrespect more, why don't you?
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Anyways, Skylar told me the other day that Weight Watchers is no longer existent, and I was on Weight Watchers for the longest time. I went to the meetings and stuff, and it's so awkward because it just feels like an AA meeting.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I'm sure she does, but there are some things that parents don't need to know or should know. I would never tell them. And they will not know. But you left it in the last podcast. I didn't want to leave it in. You guys are editing it. I don't edit it. I don't even watch. You don't watch it before. Whoa. I watch it on Patreon.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
And every time I ask Jared to cut something out, oh, it's going to be.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Anyways. It's going to be May. It's already May. If she watches it, it's probably something she doesn't want to talk about.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
She's not in the office. She's resisting.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I'll say, I'll listen. If you say like in the next 10 minutes or something, you're going to have to take a Zin and then quote unquote ultimately shave your head.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
But that's fine because you're comparing it to something.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
They didn't pay. It was free. I didn't audition.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I don't remember so long ago. But you had to like audition to get in the school. Like if you were in literary arts, photography, you had to send in like.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Well, she's great. I'm sure. In time gone by.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I don't need to go into like what happened.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
No, I still had to do math. At the art school, I don't need to explain to you guys what happened and go through all that.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Yeah, I was running to catch up with a friend.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
I stopped and no one else was around. That's not that bad.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
As a fifth grader, sixth grader? Yeah, that sucks.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Good for you. After I left and went to art school, I was so happy.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
She's at work, so she might be pissed that I'm calling.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Hey, I'm in a meeting. Okay, call me after.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Nothing. I just had a question, but you're in a meeting, so I'll call you after.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
Black smoke. Yeah. I don't know what that means.
Dropouts
He Gave Up the Love of His Life... | Dropouts #255
But there's just smoke hanging out in the air right now?
Good Guys
Love is NOT Blind with Paige O'Brien Peck
Hey, Moron here. View on your bebes. So I recently had a baby and my husband and I are going on our first trip without the baby. So my mom is going to be watching bebe at home while we meet our in-laws in Vegas for a birthday celebration for someone. My in-laws tend to book connecting rooms at hotels for us. Now, very appreciative that they, you know, booked the room. However, what are you nuts?
Good Guys
Love is NOT Blind with Paige O'Brien Peck
This is our first trip after a baby. I don't want a open door in between me and my in-laws. Is this not absurd behavior? My husband doesn't agree.
Money Rehab with Nicole Lapin
What To Financially Expect When You're Expecting
Hi, Nicole. My name is Alyssa. I'm 28 and I'm currently pregnant with my first child. My question is simply, how do you budget for a baby? And how do you plan for all those unexpected costs during the pregnancy and postpartum? I currently have to get ultrasounds way more often than I'm expected to because I'm considered high risk. And that's a cost I didn't plan for.
Money Rehab with Nicole Lapin
What To Financially Expect When You're Expecting
So now I'm not sure exactly where that money is going to come from. So how do you do it? How do you budget for all of that?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
When Tom shared with me what had happened with Megan, he shared every text message. He shared the statements from his bank of the transactions that were made. At one point, I was looking through those transactions and I saw a transaction to a man. Sometimes Megan would ask Tom for money and she would say, I need you to pay this person for me. I need you to send it to this person.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
And a couple of times that she said, I need you to send it to this person. She was sending it to the owner of the Tesla. She was personally having Tom send money to the people that she owed money to rather than sending it directly. She was having him pay for her debts. And at this time, the Tesla owner's name had never been released to the group.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
So it's like two o'clock in the morning and myself and another girl in the group were looking through these documents that Tom had shared with us. And I find the Tesla owner's wife on Facebook and I sent her a message and I said, Hey, I know this sounds crazy, but do you know a woman named Megan Stoner? And she's like, I do. She actually scammed my husband. I was like, holy crap.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
If Alex hadn't figured it out the moment she did, I would have figured it out right there. Here's Alex again.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
She had her license suspended and she was driving for Uber with that Tesla. How was she able to drive for Uber with no license, drive for Lyft with no license? How is she getting away with this?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
That's when we realized that she had not only stolen her roommate's identity, but was also using her dad's identity to drive for Lyft and Uber in a Tesla that she obtained under false pretenses and under a false identity. My favorite part about that story is that She was at the movie theater and Stephen, I think his brother was nearby. They like flew in. They locked it.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
She comes out, couldn't get into the car. I lived like right next door to the movie theater. So I even drove over there and the Tesla's sitting there and there's no other cars in the parking lot. Alex was in, talks with Stephen about it at the time. And he was like, we're going to pick up the car right now. And then he comes later in that night and takes the car.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
We protected another person because she was still scamming and getting away with it. And that was what was so frustrating.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
We weren't really sure what she was going to do because she had gone back and forth. Even in my phone calls with her, I never really got a straight answer with her because I think in her mind, if she didn't get the plea that she wanted, she wasn't going to take a plea.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
And in our minds, we're thinking like, there's no way you're going to get something that satisfies you enough that you're willing to plea out and take this amount of jail time. So even going into the court date that day, we're all waiting on pins and needles to see what she does. Is she going to take the plea or is she going to request a jury trial?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
I almost thought she was stubborn enough to just go to trial. The amount of evidence they had on her was overwhelming. They were felonies, but they were low-level felonies. The plea that she was offered, none of us felt like it was enough time. To her, it seemed like too much time, like she was almost too good to do that much time.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
As we're speaking, I'm just like thinking of more things and I'm like, wow, this is really fucking crazy. I had forgotten that some of these things had happened because I haven't talked about it in so long. I was so ready to record with you today, but at the same time, I was like, this shit is going to bring up some feelings that I haven't felt in a while because I'm not a victim.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
That's the whole thing. But I was so closely invested in all of this and both times, you know, the first time we didn't get her arrested, but the second time, like it was me. I got to make that call after I screamed at her on the phone and told her like, I'm going to get you arrested. I don't care what it takes.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
I was the one that got to make the call the next time, which was also sweet fucking justice. It was just like such a good feeling. I had chills when I heard the trailer. When I heard Tom's voice, that's probably when it hit me the hardest. Not only did the rest of us who had put our blood, sweat and tears into bringing this bitch down need this, but he needed this.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
He needed somewhere to go on and tell his story and exactly what happened in his own words. After everything, I feel like this is the icing on top of the cake for me. First episode, I'm listening to it and I'm like, everyone is about to know who you are. When I said that to her, it was so true. For so long, I thought this story would never really get the traction that it needed, and now it has.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
I'm so fucking excited. I just remember that first call with you. I think Alex and I were like 45 minutes into talking to you, and you're like, dude, holy shit. There's no way we could fit this into an episode, and we had just barely cracked the surface, you know? We were just trying to tell you the most significant things that we could to get your attention.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
when I heard how excited you were and how much you were ready to like bite into this even though it's a lot Megan is a lot this story for anyone else listening would think that it was not true but With it being so public and with it being online and with her leaving such a trail behind her, it really has made it easier to kind of pass the torch on to you. Like, look, this is what we have.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
And you have taken all of that information and made it into these like beautiful Word documents and timelines. If there was anybody that could have done it, it was you. And you've done it so beautifully.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E10: Indiana Delvey
But I think the lawyer that she had at the time was like, you're not going to get anything better than this. I think it's best that you just take what they're offering and you do your time, you keep your head down, you pay your victims back. You're good to go. And so she goes in and she accepts it.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
Because she had the opportunity to bail out before she was sentenced so many times and it never happened. I'd be like, well, why don't you have your mom give me the card? Why doesn't your mom just take your bank card up there and post your bail? Well, it doesn't work like that. I have to be out to gain access to the funds. It was always something.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
There was always a reason that she couldn't access these funds. But if I posted that bail and she got out, she'd be able to pay me back immediately because those funds were there, but only she could access them. With Tom, originally she had asked him to borrow money up front. It was, I need to borrow some money from you. He said, okay, that's fine, but you need to pay me back on this date.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
So that date comes around and she's like, I just need a little more time. But if you give me a little more time, instead of paying you back the amount that I owe you, I will double it because I'm going to get my student loan soon. And so he would give her a little more money. And this kept happening and the date kept getting pushed back.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
It's unfortunate because Tom is just such an amazing person that he really thought he was helping out a friend in need. And she would make the crisis seem so big and it was so tragic and she just needed a little bit of help and she needed someone to believe in her. And he just kept giving and giving. This just kept happening for months on end.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And she admitted all of this to me on the phone that she had taken all of this money from him and that she had opened a credit card in his name.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
I think Megan at this point was willing to do whatever it took to get out of jail. And there were a lot of times she would call her mom and her mom wouldn't answer. Her mom would go from a couple days to a couple weeks without speaking to Megan. And I truly believe then and now that she had put so much stress on her own mother. I think it led to her mother's demise. That's truly speculation.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
But her mom, it's not like her mom was super old. I don't think her mom had any like really serious health conditions. But Megan had put so much pressure on her mom and then her dad dying, her being in jail, her publicly scamming people, being on the news. I think it caused her mom so much stress that there were times where she was like, I don't even want to talk to my own daughter.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
She was her parents' light of their lives. And her own mom didn't really want to have anything to do with her after she went to jail. Like, she accepted Megan's calls. I think she was paying for Megan's commissary at the time. But Megan was continuously harassing her mom. If she called me as many times as she did, I can't imagine how many times she called her mom.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And especially if her mom wouldn't answer. And I'll be honest, it is truly debilitating mentally to have someone who is a succubus like Megan calling you constantly and taking energy from you and taking your peace from you. And she is fully capable of doing that.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
Even though I kept her at arm's length, there were times where I truly felt like she was taking every last thing that I had inside of me to just continue conversations with her. When her mom wouldn't answer the phone, she'd be like, Alyssa, can you please call my mom? Can you just tell her I need this or tell her she has to do this now or I need her to pay my bail now?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And I'm like, I'm not doing that. I'm not calling your mom so that you can verbally and mentally abuse her. There was a couple times where I called Gail and I was like, hey, Megan's trying to reach you. And this was at the very beginning of her asking me. And I could hear the pain, just complete fed up attitude that Gail had towards her at this point.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And she was like, no, I'm not answering her calls. But I will say this, like Gail defended Megan until the better end. I mean, she never really said anything bad about Megan, but you could hear it in her voice that she was just tired of it. She'd had enough.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
I honestly can't imagine what Gail was going through at this point with the amount of calls, messages, you know, whatever else Megan could do to try to reach out to this woman when she wouldn't respond to her. And this happened for a while. Basically, up until Gail died, Megan was asking people to contact her mom for her.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
After the failed arrest, I told her who I was and she came to the realization that there was no journalist. I was bullshitting her the entire time. My calls would have started with her with September because within a couple of days of her going into the jail, I sent you those messages where I was like, hey, Megan, I saw that you're in jail.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
October 10th or 11th, I was in Kentucky. We were on a family vacation and I had no signal. We were kind of out in the boonies. We went into town one day to go to the store and my phone was blowing up. What happened was is that she told the jail that she needed to be released to go to her daughter's funeral.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
At some point she said her daughter had been adopted and that the daughter and the adopted mother had been in an accident and she needed to go to her daughter's funeral. That someone had reached out to her to tell her, even though it like broke confidentiality because she said it was a closed adoption. So they broke a closed adoption to tell Megan that her daughter had died.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And so Megan called me that night. We were like still in town. She called me and I answered. She's like, hey, I need to know about that warrant you told me I have. Because she had a warrant that was more important than the dead child. So she keeps asking me, I need to know about the warrant. And I'm like, I need to know about your dead child.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
Alyssa, I need to know about this warrant because I know you're lying to me. My lawyer said I don't have a warrant. She clearly did. I could see it online. I believe it was for probation because I was the one that called the probation officer to tell her that Megan had violated in another county, which violated her probation.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
If you want somebody to talk to, I just wanted her to talk to me. We all wanted to know, like, what are you thinking? What's your mindset going into this? And she called maybe a day or two later. So there were a lot of times where I would just talk to her, like almost like we were friends. Like, how was your day today? What happened?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
The whole call I'm talking to her, I'm like, why are you telling people that your child died? And she's like, well, because I had a child that died. That was probably one of those baffling lies that she told. I don't know why that one stuck out to me more than the others and why it fired me up so badly. Maybe because I have children.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
So it like struck a nerve with me to sit there and say that you lost a child. Like that is so disrespectful to women that have lost children. How dare you? Why is everyone saying that your kid died?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
More than anything, the Megan Stoner story fascinates me on a different level because I've never encountered someone quite like her. And there are a lot of people that probably go through their life and never encounter someone like Megan Stoner. And thank God that they don't because the level of malice that comes with her is insane.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
Oftentimes she was in SEG, which she was like pulled away from the other inmates for issues that she was causing in the block. And she tells me through our calls why that happened. My cousin was actually in the same block as her in the jail. So Megan would tell me a story and then I would go to my cousin and I would say like, hey, is this what actually happened?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
And she's like, no, that's not what happened at all. Megan is giving the officers grief because she keeps pressing the panic button in her cell and they've asked her not to do that if there's not a true emergency, but she continues to do it. Megan would tell me, well, they're just all out to get me. They won't even tell me why they put me in here. I don't even know why I'm in SAG.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
I really did build a relationship with her where she felt like she could trust me and she could tell me things.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
So take that determination that you have to get through this and make sure that you right your wrongs. I'm sharing these calls within the group. So it's not just me listening to them. There's like 15 people listening to these calls. As it progressed, there were times where I would just get so irritated and so angry and I almost couldn't keep my composure anymore.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
But a lot of the reason for these calls with Megan is because the more I talked to her, she was admitting to crimes. On the jail phone, on a recorded line, not only that I'm recording, but the jail is recording. So the closer that we got, the more she's telling me.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
I was definitely trying to figure out if she had money, and not because I was worried she was gonna post her bail, because she kept saying, you know, I'm gonna pay back my victims, I'm gonna do this and that. And there were a couple of times I was like, OK, so if I bail you out, are you going to pay back your victims when you get out? Yes, absolutely.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E9: How Dare You
That's the first thing I'm going to do when I get out is I'm going to pay back my victims and I'm going to right my wrongs. And so there were so many times where I tried to bait her into telling me she would always say, like, I have an account with all this money in it. I have school loans or grants. Do we think that any of that is real? Absolutely not.

So if you sign the plea deal, do you have to go to jail Thursday?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Ay-yi-yi. That's, like, really soon. That's, like, four days.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Well, I worry that if they file more charges, like if they're more serious, if they'll take a plea deal off the table.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I wish there was more I could say. Like, I'm hoping that it's just helping you being able to talk to somebody, period.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
majorly and I mean I don't know I'm just I'm tired and I'm worn down and I just am like I don't know what else to do I don't know you just pray for the best I guess that's all you really can do at this point it sounds like there's not much more you can do besides try to make amends with your mom before you have to go to jail if you have to go to jail I mean that's going to be important you're going to need somebody and then like if you do get house arrest where are you going to house arrest who
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Yeah. That's where you're going to want to do house arrest time.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Good God. Well, I don't know if a witch with a spell is going to help much, but... texted for like a week before she finally agreed to meet me at a coffee shop down the street from whatever Airbnb she was staying at. So she gives me the location of the Airbnb. There was a woman that started the Facebook group. We all just called her Vero.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I had been in talks with her and I was like, look, Megan wants to meet me. And she's really adamant. Like this girl needs to go to jail. So I contacted Vero and I was like, Hey, Megan agreed to meet me. And she's like, I'll come pick you up. Like, tell me where, tell me when we could do it tonight.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So I looked at my boyfriend at the time and I was like, I'm going to go out for a little bit. It's like nine o'clock at night. He's like, where are you going? And I was like, well, listen, Megan has agreed to meet me and I'm going to go out and I'm going to have her meet me. And then we're going to call the cops and have them arrest her. And he was like, Alyssa, you're out of your fucking mind.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And I was like, no, I'm not. And he's like, so let me get this straight. You're leaving in a car with someone you don't know. You don't even know their full name. You've never met them. Like check. He's like, and you're going down to Indianapolis on a Friday night after dark in a not great part of town. I'm like, check.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And he's like, and you're going to go provide some vigilante justice and get this girl arrested. I'm like, check. You're like, how much more crazy could I sound? I remember right before I walked out the door, when Vero pulled up at my house, he was like, take a picture of the license plate and send it to me. Right before I had left, Megan said she would meet me.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And then I remember getting a message from her right as I was about to walk out the door. And she's like, I don't really think this is a good idea. And so I hop in the car with Vero and I'm like, I think she's backing out. I think she's getting nervous. She knows she has a warrant. She's like, here's what we're going to do. So we stopped by an ATM and she pulls out $300 in cash.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And she's like, send Megan a picture of that and tell her like, I'm in Indy with my sister. We just had dinner. Do you want to meet up? I think I sent her a picture of a $100 bill because I remember her saying like, well, I thought you were going to give me $300. And I was like, I will. I was like, how about I meet you?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I'll have my sister drop me off with you and I'll send her to go to the ATM to get the rest of the money out because we really want to help you. And she's like, okay. We got down to Indy and we had a pretty good idea through the bingo chat of the Airbnb she was at because the amount of money she was asking for that night
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
There was like two Airbnbs available within the range of where we knew she was. Because also there's a whole other side of this. There was a woman that was giving her rides. We can call her Stacy. So we had a pretty good idea of the area that Megan was in because Stacy had dropped her off at a gas station or a coffee shop or somewhere near the area.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So when Vero and I were on our way down there, some of the girls in the group had done a deep dive on Airbnb and found an Airbnb we really thought she was staying at. We pull up at this Airbnb and it's like a garage in the backyard of this house. And Vera pulls up and I hop out of the car and I go and try and look in the window of this place. And I'm on the phone with Megan while I'm doing this.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
She's like, well, just go up kind of by the door. Like you're going to knock and see if you can hear her talking. And while I'm doing that, Megan's like, well, you know what? Like you can just meet me at this church. And the church is literally right around the corner from where Vero and I are. And I'm like, maybe she really is at this Airbnb right here.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So we wait a few minutes to see if she walks out or if she's like going to Uber or whatever to go over to this church. It was probably a mile away and she doesn't come out. I was like, all right, let's just go. Let's go park somewhere near the church where we can see. And the next thing you know, we park. And I look ahead and I was like, oh my God, Vera, that's her right there.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Both of our hearts dropped because I really didn't think she was going to meet me. I really figured she was going to get sketched out, but I think that enticing $300 was enough to make her like come out of whatever hidey hole she was in. I get out of the car and I walk over to her and she had started to walk away at that point.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
She had like gotten up and was walking down the street and I yelled for her and I was like, Megan. And she's like, oh, Alyssa. I'm like, hey, I told you I was coming. And she was like, oh, great. Where's your sister? I was like, my sister's running to the ATM to get the rest of your money. And she was like, okay. I was like, do you want to just sit over here? And she's like, yeah. So...
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Let me also tell you that we're not in a good part of Indianapolis. Like there are some parts there that you don't want to be in after dark when you're a young woman. And that's where we were. And I was even a little scared. I'm like, this is crazy. So Vero calls 911 and tells them like, hey, there is a girl here. She has a warrant. She's sitting on the corner of wherever we were.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And this is all while I'm like standing there with Megan. So she messages me and she's like, okay, I called the cops. Well, it's like Friday night. Shit is popping off downtown. They have major crimes that they're taking care of. And here we are with this girl that just has a warrant. So it's like 15 minutes and I'm sitting here and the group is like going off in my pocket.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I can hear my phone going off and I'm like, oh my God, this is insane. And Megan's getting really sketched out at this point. And she's like... where's your sister? I feel like this is a setup. I'm like, if it was a setup, don't you think we would have just had the cops with us when I got here? That seems a little crazy. I'm sitting right here with you. Everything is fine.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And then she looks over at me and looks at my phone. She's like, let me see the messages from your sister. And I like have my phone in my hand pointed down because it was going off from the group. And I'm like, oh my God, what am I going to do? I remember holding the power button and sliding it while it was upside down. I was like, oh my God, my phone died.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
A normal person would have been like, okay, fuck this. I'm leaving. This is not okay. She sits there with me for a few more minutes. And like every car that pulls up, every headlight that she sees, she's standing up and sitting down and freaking out. And I'm like, it's okay. Just calm down. And so at this point, I remember she stands up
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And she kind of like walks towards the corner she's pacing and a car pulls up at the intersection across from where we are. Like on the, there's a busy street we were next to. Then there was a side street and a car pulls up on the side street. And I remember her looking at that car and then she just takes off. I mean, this girl is like running down the sidewalk and she's not a little girl.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
She's booking ass down the sidewalk. And I look over and I was like, oh my God, it's a cop. So I like run up. I was like, she's right there. I was like, that's the girl that's got a warrant. She's right there. And so he goes the wrong way on a one way.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
flips his lights on and stops her and i go and i book it to vero's car because she's like half a block away and i go to try to get in the car and she's like driving off without me like she's so excited i'm trying to open up the door it's locked and vero's like literally driving away like dragging me with the car and i'm like open the door like let me get in this is insane we got her we're hooting and hollering in the car we look for her for like a month
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And we finally found her. And I'm like, this is everything. I was so freaking happy. And so we do like a lap around. And when we come around, they have Megan and they're putting her in the back of the cop car. And there's like three cops there at this point. And we turn on the scanner and we start driving back. And like everybody in the bingo group is freaking out.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And then I see somebody message in the group chat and they're like, they just said non-extraditable warrant on the scanner. So we're all listening to the scanner. We're waiting. Come to find out, because it was just a bench warrant, it was not a felony. The warrant hadn't been issued for the felony charge yet. The charge was non-extraditable. So they basically just let her go.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
After all of that, they let her go. And then not only did they let her go, but she calls me about five minutes later and she's like, they let me go. And I was like, what do you mean they let you go? She's like, yeah, they said that I just need to appear in court at my earliest convenience and they let me go. So all your hard work was for nothing. And I'm like, are you fucking kidding me?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And I remember screaming at her on the phone at that point. I was like, listen, I don't care what it takes. I don't care what I have to do. I don't care the extent that I have to go. I will not stop until you are behind bars and you pay for your crimes. I will not stop until the people that you have so wrongfully harmed and scammed and manipulated get justice.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
That moment for me was really like solidified, like hearing her be so snarky on the phone with me to tell me like, they just let me go. And I remember at that point thinking like, I really won't stop. It became my mission at that point. And I remember going home that night and I like came in and my boyfriend was snoring in bed. Everybody's asleep. It's like after midnight.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And I'm like, well, you weren't too worried about me, obviously, because you didn't even wait up to see if I got home. But I was so defeated. I stayed up for a little while. We talked in the group chat and everybody was just like, this sucks.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And my involvement in all of this really has come from like a sidebar standpoint because she stole some stuff off my porch, but she didn't technically scam me. She didn't hurt me, but she hurt people that I love.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
After you've had a conversation with Tom and you realize how truly vulnerable he was in some moments and how much she took advantage of those vulnerable moments and him as a person that he's just so kind. It was people like that and moments like that I'm getting cold chills right now. That's what made it all worth it for me.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Helping people file paperwork at the courthouse, filing for FOIA requests. I became a true investigator during this and learned how to file paperwork with the courthouse. It just became something where I was like, this just is so wrong and nobody's doing anything about it. Why is no one doing anything about this? Why is this continuing to happen?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So after that phone call with her, I made it my life's mission that this girl was gonna pay for her crime. She was gonna go to jail. And shortly after that is when they issued the warrant on the felony charges. And at that point, it is extraditable. If you're in another state, if you're in another county, if you're eight hours away, they don't care. You're going to jail.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
It was just because she missed court. So she had court for the felony charges. Shortly after that first time that we tried to get her arrested, she didn't show up for court for those charges. The fraud, the corrupt business influence, the theft. When you don't show up for court, they're going to issue a warrant.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And so at that point, because the other charges in Elwood were misdemeanors, there's a difference between a bench warrant and a warrant for felony charges. So with a bench warrant, they're not actively seeking you. They might go to your house one time, maybe two times. They just want you to show up to court. And most people do because it's a misdemeanor.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Like who in their right mind would run from a misdemeanor? The worst you're ever going to get is either like a slap on the wrist or like a short probation charge. You know, it's like nothing.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
she had a warrant for the OWI case. And around that time, she had her court date coming up for the felony charges out of Hamilton County, the rental scams. And she didn't want to go to that felony court date because she knew she had a warrant.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I think she thought, well, if I show up to this court date, they're going to arrest me because I have pending charges there that she also did not show up to court for. So that's when she didn't show up to court in Hamilton County and they put out a warrant for her arrest there also. She was on the run. So she wasn't at home. She was staying in and out of Airbnbs, changing them up every night.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
It really seems crazy now, but at the time I was just like, this girl has done so much wrong. It's time for someone to bring justice to this situation and the people that she's hurt. But in between that time, when the warrant came out for the OWI and she hadn't yet had a warrant for the felony charges is when I started texting her. The goal was maybe I can get her to come meet me somewhere.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I think we all thought it was kind of far-fetched. We'll see where it goes from here, but I'll try anyway. So I started texting her and she starts divulging all of this information to me about Tom. She's like, can you please message my friend Tom? He's not listening to me. I did some bad things, but I'm trying to pay him back. I want to pay him back the money I owe him.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Because I think at this point, he was really understanding the gravity of what she had done to him and how much money she had taken from him under false pretenses. I reached out to somebody else in the group that was an admin and I was like, hey, I've been talking to Megan and I really think... Someone needs to get a hold of this person.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So that's when I found out that like Tom had been talking to someone in the group already and that he had begun grasping the fact that she had scammed him really bad. I think he was probably her most prolific victim out of the pool of people that she had scammed. I had reached out to him and I was talking to him and he started to share some of the things that she had done.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And at that point, it was always kind of like a joke to me. Maybe she'll come and meet me. Maybe she won't. But then when I realized like what she had done, that's when I like hit it into high gear. And I was like, you know what? No, no one deserves to be treated like this. No one deserves to put trust in someone and then have someone completely ruin that trust.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And that's what she had done with him. And it was scary. And so at that point, I started texting her. And shortly after that is when she met me for the first time. And I actually saw her in person. So I got her number from someone in the group. And I just said like, hey, I think I said my name was Valerie. I'm a reporter for such and such. I think I even like Googled the place, the company.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I minded my P's and Q's there. I was very straightforward. Like this is who I work for. This is what I want to do. I want to buy the life rights to your story. I think you have a really crazy story to tell. I think your voice should be heard. So I really tried to play to that Megan Stoner diabolical mind. She was like, oh, this is great. Someone wants to like tell a story all about me.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
We talked for a couple days and a few times she had said, can you reach out to my friend Tom? He's not listening. I think she was terrified that he was going to go and file charges against her at the time. And I was like, I don't think it's appropriate for me to reach out to one of your victims. She was like, okay, can you send me $20 for food tonight? And I'm like, I suppose I can do that.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And so when she provided me her cash app, it was not her cash app. It was someone else's. And at that time, it was kind of like she's starting to take the bait, like she wants money from me. And so what I had done, I was like, why don't you let me give you some money so that you can get your Airbnb or whatever? And she's like, well, you know, I have a warrant, so I'm not meeting anyone.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
She was pretty adamant about that. But the next day she called me on the phone and I recorded it. And she was like, my mom gave my dog away. Her dog Coco was all over her Twitter. Like this dog was her bestie and her mom had given her dog away. And so she called me, she's like, my mom hates me. She told me she doesn't want to see me again.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
As not great as it was on my part, I was like, you know what, let's play into this. And I'm like, I can't believe your mom would do that. I tried to get a little closer with her.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Okay, so, and then what about everything else? Like, you have to pay the lawyers for everything else then too, right?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I feel like that's the big one. You know what I mean? The other ones are kind of small. They're not a huge deal. Right. Stuff that can get thrown out really easily. But the Hamilton County case is kind of a big one.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
So you don't know for sure that they're going to offer that? Or is that what your lawyer asked for?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, at least when you're on house arrest, you can work. Yeah. You can go out places. You're not really just confined to your house like a lot of people think.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Fuck. And now they've got your mom just completely flipped and turned on you. Yeah. That's like the one person, you know, you can always trust. You know what I mean? Like it's your mom. I'm like that with my dad. Like, we're really close. And so I can't really imagine what it would be like if he just turned on me when I needed him the most, you know?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Did your mom tell you she was getting rid of Coco before she did it? Or did she just tell you, like, I got rid of Coco?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
They are vicious. I will say that. I can see it. Well, I could see it all. I can't now. Obviously, I got booted from the crew. Why did you get booted? Because I threw a fit. Because it doesn't, I mean, it's not a huge deal, but like, I don't like everything that was being said in there. And I kind of got a little offended by some things.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And then once everyone saw that my name was on any kind of paperwork, they started blowing me up. And I went off and told them all to stop. And that's when I got booted from the group. Like, I woke up the next morning and it was like none of the posts were, I can't even like see the group. I couldn't even search it if I wanted to now. It's gone.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Yeah, it's crazy that they're just running on their own. They are. They're kicking people out of the group left and right. I'm not the only one. And the one person I do know that's in the group I'm not really friends with, it's just kind of like secondhand information, so I really don't know shit. I can see the Twitter account, obviously. Yeah. But I don't know.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I just feel like I don't know what to say to you right now because it's just crazy to me. I never thought that would happen with your mom. I kind of figured she was the one person that was there for you no matter what. Yeah. I would just give her some time, like try to talk to her again. If you can, at some point, you know? I just wonder who's talking to her. That's my... Yep.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
And she won't tell you? Mm-mm. I don't know. I just think that's really weird for her to give up your dog and then tell you to go into prison. Like, something drastic had to have happened.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
She knows everything, though. She knows what happened. She knows the charges you have. Nothing's changed. From yesterday till today, nothing has changed. Yeah.

S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Maybe she'll come around. Maybe something will happen. I don't know.

And then Thursday you have court in Hamilton County, which is a big one, obviously. Yeah. Is that the only court cases you have this week, just Tuesday and Thursday?

S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Just Tuesday and Thursday, like it's no big deal, sorry. Right?
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
That's the part I think I would have the hardest time with is just being alone. Like, you can't tell anybody where you are. You can't have anybody come visit you because you don't know what's going to happen.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
Well, I will say, I'll give you credit, like, you're still here. You know? Yeah, well, I don't know how. Well, you've pushed through. I know it's not been easy, and I know you haven't been in the best mental state, and that's had to have been so hard, but, like, you're here.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
He wants to what? One of my attorneys thought about being a press conference. Oh, a press conference for you. The group's not going to stop. They will not stop. There are like 1,500 people in that group. They will not stop. They'll make another one. You know, if one gets taken down, they'll make another. It will not stop. They're all fucking crazy.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
At this point, they're not going to stop until I assume you're in jail or like you said, on house arrest. Maybe then it will subside if they have nothing to talk about. And girl, if you stop tweeting, they wouldn't have anything to talk about either.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I think that doesn't help your case. Like, they have something. Every time you tweet, they have something to talk about. It's posted in the group. I feel like they just are watching your every move and you just keep giving them ammo to do so. Okay. That's my best advice to you is don't give them so much ammo.
Something Was Wrong
S22 E7: Scam the Scammer
I hope that this plea deal works out for you and that you don't have to go sit in a jail cell. You know, that's going to be really rough.

Yeah. And so you want to find another one that can maybe get it down more than that.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
And he was like the first person to actually hold me and let me cry. I was okay with a lot of drugs, drinking, promiscuity, stuff like that. I'm not okay with that anymore.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
That's how I coped. Okay, great. About five years ago, I lost my dad to a drug overdose. He was 54. I got the opportunity to be lucky enough to bring my husband home from the hospital from a drug overdose. So I'm wondering how I can protect myself and our four-month-old while still offering my husband the connection he so desperately needs without enabling him.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
Yeah. Yeah, no, thanks for taking my call. I never thought I would actually get to talk to you, so it's super cool.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
So we met, and I was, I guess, a little bit of a party girl. And we were okay. I was okay with us, like, drinking, having a good time. I told him previously, I'm like, I'm not... a stickler when it comes to like porn use and stuff like that.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
And the more I've learned about it, just like the neurological aspects of, of that kind of addiction and just the thought that anybody that's in that environment is probably not healthy or happy themselves. They don't really want to be there. So it bothers me to, to have to know that he's watching porn. And I used to be okay with that. Um, I used to, we used to drink kind of heavily together.
The Dr. John Delony Show

Um, and that's kind of how I coped with everything that has gone on in my life. I got a high score on the aces, probably like a eight out of 10.

Well, two weeks before I finally kind of like let him have it. And that was our last conversation.
The Dr. John Delony Show
My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
Um, well, I just, I just let him, I just explained to him that, you know, he wasn't there for me. He wasn't there to protect me. He was the worst. He caused the most pain and he was supposed to be the one to keep that from me. Um, and he doesn't, his younger kids are adopted and he doesn't even know where they are. And, um, Yeah, that he was a pretty crappy dad.

Okay, so I wrote this all down to kind of keep me from going down too many bunny trails. Okay. I hope you have your waders on because this is going to be a deep mess.

My Boyfriend’s Female Friend Doesn’t Like Me
I would like to preface this by saying I have built myself a beautiful life. I have a small home. I run a small business out of, and I absolutely love my husband and our four-month-old little girl.

Originally, I was going to ask you how I can reconcile the differences with where my husband and I started our relationship about 10 years ago to where we are now. But something happened this weekend that kind of changed the trajectory of my question a little bit. I've known my husband for about 10 years. And when we met, I was coping with childhood abuse, recently lost a cousin to suicide.

Yeah, and that's how I felt. But hold on, Alyssa.

My Husband and His Brother Got in a Fistfight Over Me
When we go to – or earlier on in our relationship – When we would go to family gatherings, you know, a family member might say something a little bit sideways. And I'm not one to cause a scene. I would never do that. I feel like that doesn't achieve anything. So my reaction is to talk to him after the fact. And he has said everything in order to avoid going to that family member to talk.

Say, hey, you know, you can't talk to her that way or you can't you shouldn't say that or whatever it might be. You know, one thing that he said was I was drunk. I didn't hear it. Or the next time was or she didn't mean it that way or like it's at the expense of how I feel. That's right. It's called gaslighting. Yeah.

My question is, how can I process my feelings about my partner's reaction after a one particular significant life event?

My Husband and His Brother Got in a Fistfight Over Me
Yeah. So we live nearby. I'm sorry. We traveled nearby to a festival and this happened about a month ago. And there was a shooting, unfortunately. I think it's important to note, too. We had a couple of our best friends from Illinois down and they have two kids.

So so the shooting was particularly sensitive because, of course, we're worried about our own lives, but the lives of the children, because they definitely don't deserve it. Right. So after the event, I'm sorry, during the shooting, our reaction, everyone's reaction, except for his reaction, was to run in the opposite direction. Very similar to how everyone else appeared to react as well.

When we got to a place of kind of calming down, we're no longer running, we're at a place where we feel like we're removed from the shooting or the shooter, he casually walks up to us and has a little bit of a grin on his face. And he was really calm about the situation, which made me very uncomfortable, made me upset. And it was not...

He felt as if it was a joke, like it was some kids goofing off and just trying to cause a scene. Whereas our reaction is, if it's a joke or not, let's get out of here. And that is what it seemed to be everyone's reaction. So I tried to reason with him, and I can't tell if I'm being unreasonable or if my gut feeling about this whole situation is accurate.

It was a real shooting. Okay. Some folks passed away. Okay.

He still feels the same way that we reacted. He felt like we were dramatic where we just wanted to treat it the same as 99% of everyone who was running. Treat it seriously whether or not it's a joke or not in today's world.

I feel like I have felt in the past that he shows cowardly behavior in some situations, like with his family, like he's non-confrontational. And I think that that is also stemming from how I'm feeling about this particular situation.

Are you married to this person? No. Engaged for five years. We've been together for eight. What's the holdup, yo? We both say, well, you know, we can do it tomorrow if we want to, but I guess neither one of us has made it a priority.

My thoughts on the you guys fast. I appreciate the good intentions of you guys fast to be more inclusive, but my feeling is that the unintended potential consequences of it may be worse.

By eliminating you guys from our vocabulary, we reinforce the notion that only male persons can be guys, which could lead to an increase in the use of the traditionally used female equivalent term, girls, to refer to adult women. In my view, any reference of adult women as girls is far more harmful and offensive than being included in you guys.
