Tue, 11 Mar 2025
Are the LA Galaxy in freefall? On Unfiltered Soccer, Landon Donovan and Tim Howard are concerned about the Galaxy’s season without Riqui Puig and Dejan Joveljić. The hosts give flowers to the Seattle Sounders and their new all-time leading goal scorer Jordan Morris, as well as EPL third place team Nottingham Forest and manager Nuno Espírito Santo. The guys dig into the 2025 NWSL season, including Bay FC under investigation, Gotham FC hemorrhaging players, Houston Dash’s rebuild, and Angel City in search of an identity. For USMNT, they celebrate the return of Sergiño Dest to PSV, a brace from Christian Pulisic, and Tyler Adams recognition at Bournemouth. Plus, New England Revolution fans bring the smoke in the AT&T Fan Connection, and the guys theorize the future of Goodison Park. What are the key takeaways from the Seattle Sounders' recent performance?
It's not fun for anybody when it's bad. So don't protect it. Try to help solve it.
Well, very well said. I mean, look, David, it's David, right? I mean, here's the thing. We do our research more than you can even imagine. The fact of the matter is, if you're fighting this stance that there's 30,000 people there, fine, fine. It looks horrific on television. There's no denying that. In stadium, because I've played there, it's not a great place to play.
So maybe we're having a bigger conversation as Landon touched on. The stadium, how you shoot the stadium, how you kind of either tarp the upper bowl and push everyone to the lower bowl. It's been done before, right, Landon? Also, you've spent a lot of money. If you've ever heard of Everton Football Club, in the last decade, they have also spent a lot of money. It means nothing.
It's how you spend it. So hats off to you guys for loving your club and repping. So keep it coming. We like to smoke.
How about some questions?
Let's do it.
This one came to us via email from Ryan, who is identifying himself as a West Ham fan who enjoys Moyes ball. Is that a thing?
I mean, I bet he enjoys winning.
Do you feel that European fans have too much influence in club decisions, especially coaching changes? In U.S. sports, the first year for a new coach is usually a freebie with improvement expected in year two and things needing to click in year three. In European football, the leash is much shorter.
