There is also an amazing discussion about the force free movement and the perception of punishment in dog training from different training ideologies. Simon Gadbois Ph. D. is a professor of neuroscience and biology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Simon has spent a large portion of his career studying domestic and wild canids (wolves, coyotes, and red foxes).He completed his Ph.D. in behavioural endocrinology at the Canadian Centre for Wolf Research (CCWR) examining the hormonal correlation of social behaviour in wolves, as well as action sequences in wolves, coyotes and red foxes. When the CCWR closed in 2007, Simon started the Canid Behaviour Research Lab at Dalhousie University and focused his research on coyote-human conflicts and canine scent detection.He is currently interested in the fundamental science of olfaction and olfactory learning.
