Welcome to the Saturday Slam and Jam here on the Athletic NBA Daily. On today's show, we're talking about Giannis. We're talking about the Pistons and our other favorite things. We're going to talk to Tim Cato about the strange start for the Dallas Mavericks. And then to end, we're going to do a little Mavs trivia. To start, though, Al, tell me about the top stories this week.
Well, Andrew, our top story this week is unfortunately an injury, but it's an important one because it's an injury that could shape the Western Conference race and the title race in general. Now, if they win their next three...
they get to 16-0, they would sit alone with the second best start to an NBA season ever behind only the Warriors' 24-win streak to start the 15-16 season. Their next three games, Chicago, doable. Charlotte, very doable. And finally, a TNT matchup next Tuesday against the Boston Celtics in Boston. Wow. Now, that game may sound great on its own, but what if I told you
