Chapter 1: How are listener stories shared on Ghosteas Tea Party?
hi ghosties i'm macy and i'm natalie it's thursday so that's listener story day it is and it is almost valentine's day so we have the cutest mugs in the entire world thanks again to tj maxx best friends forever it was at tj maxx yet again i think the box said besties heart mugs so i just needed to say that yes and foremost we're really excited about these they're so cute They're awkward.
Weird to drink out of, but too cute. Yes. Also, we have an announcement or a secret. Later this week, we are going on a field trip. We are. Put your guesses in the comments. And I'm really excited about it.
And we'll let you know in due time. But we're going to have a fun episode. We're going to do some vlogging type-esque things. Unless it turns out horribly. And then forget that we said this. Because we've never done that. And so it might be awkward to do it in public. Yeah. But it's going to be fun. And we're excited about this episode.

Hey, my name's Selena and I'm a psychic medium. First off, I just want to say I love you guys and the podcast. I came across your channel last month and I've binged almost every episode. That's dedication.

Let's get into it. My entire family is sensitive to spirit, and of course, that made me super sensitive. I've had the ability of mediumship my entire life, which made my childhood interesting, to say the least. I began having prophetic dreams and seeing spirits around me at the age of four.
I have so many paranormal stories, I could write a book, but this is one of my favorite stories that happened around 14 years ago. When I was 15, my family and I went to a park called Pioneer Village. My little sister was about four at the time and was super excited to be there. This place is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
It's a town that has homes from the Pioneer times with many old artifacts. The homes are kept exactly as they were when the original owners lived in them. There was one house in particular that I was very drawn to. It was called the Berwick house after the family that lived in this home. They had four children total. Immediately when entering the home, I felt a little girl present.

But she said that she felt so uneasy when that happened. I like to think that her grandfather's spirit was there since, if it were something malevolent, I probably wouldn't have laughed. I really hope so. In one of our last episodes, like the baby sitting in the high chair and screamed bloody murder and was like scared. So I feel that too. I think kids know.
The next are two that are kind of related. Two separate times I was sleeping, but they were in close succession. So one night I was just sleeping as one typically does and was having a dream about a penguin and I being friends. My dreams are always complete nonsense. But as my penguin friend turns to look at me, the dreamscape just melts away.
It was all distorted and looked pixelated like a website was deleting into just code. And once the dream had become pitch black, I realized I was having sleep paralysis. I was stuck in my body and couldn't get myself to move. And then as I was struggling to wake my body, I hear a voice say from the back of my mind, you're okay. And this wave of heavy comfort washes over me.
It was a beautiful, gentle woman's voice. And as soon as I heard it, I completely relaxed and I woke up to see my cat curled up right in front of my face. I was laying on my side. Now mind you, my cat doesn't snuggle. She likes to lay at the end of my bed by my feet. So waking up to her right there was so comforting.
I like to think it was her that like somehow communicated with me in my sleep to help me relax out of my sleep paralysis. I was going to say it's the cat. The cat was like telepathy with you. That's really cute. Then jump to a few weeks later. I'm taking a nap one late afternoon and I realize I'm aware of the dream I'm having.
Once I become aware of the dream, I found myself still dreaming, but half awake in a hospital room with a strange elvish looking demon just staring at me so close to my face. It was pale with long, tall ears. with the snaggled teeth that stuck out of its crusted red lips and skin that was all textured and bumpy. Its eyes were huge and soulless and it was looking at me.
Once I noticed it, it then sat on my chest and I felt this heaviness that was almost crushing. I tried to wake up and get the demon off of me, but I couldn't move. Then it teleported to a door far away from me in the hospital room. Still looking at me through the corridor. I then shook myself out of the dream and woke up in a cold sweat.
My cat was sleeping by my feet and my boyfriend at the time sitting next to me playing the switch. He asked me if I was okay and I told him about my demon dream and we did some googling. Turns out I wasn't alone in my experience. There are these creatures in folklore from all around the world. One of their names is the Old Hag.
I was just going to say, didn't we discuss something very similar?
