A Las Cruces man who is alleging Las Cruces police officers shot him 90 times while unarmed is suing the police department. Jonathan Strickland and his attorney John Burris announced the federal civil rights lawsuit at a press conference on Wednesday."Black and brown people should not have to live in fear," said DeWiBurris said Strickland's wife had made a false abuse complaint to the Las Cruces police that she later recanted."I never threatened any of the officers I was unarmed never threatened any of them and I never did any of the things that woman accused me of," said Jonathan Stricklandtt Lacy, one of Jonathan Strickland's attorneys. The incident happened on March 11, 2021.
