Yeah, well, we're all, you know, it was only like the day after we went looking for her and we're, you know, we were in a mess. And he did stop, but patrol and I were outside, and we were talking, and Oaks went by, and he had a record, a green GMC record. And very sudden, there's a guy killed, killed I.T.

No, I felt that Barry probably did something stupid that irritated somebody, you know. I just never really felt comfortable around Barry. I didn't trust him. I think he was... He was a little shady, in my opinion. And I have no proof for that. I have a gut feeling about people, and I'm usually pretty spot on. I didn't care to hang around him.

That's where I was putting the flower garden in that day. Came right into... Came right off the porch, right to this wall here. Okay, so Renee was right... She was in her horse right by the garage. And I was doing the flower work. Heidi came and self. And right about here, she saw me... And she says, hi, Steve. And I said, hey, Heidi, what's up? And she says, I'm just going for a run.

I said, well, have fun or something. Then I told you about the mace that I had upstairs. And I said, I should give it to her. And by that time, I hauled it to her, but she had gone around the corner.

Probably... maybe 45 minutes. And anyway, so I was still planting flowers, and he's standing right here by this man walk. But he walked this side of the road, and he kept looking back. And I don't even think he saw me. And so I saw him watching him, then he goes around the house, and I came out this way. We hadn't put those hedges in yet, so we could see up Route 5. And I saw him going down.

He was just, he didn't seem anxious or anything. He was just, you know, looking. He wasn't hitchhiking, unless he'd have been on the other side of the road. I thought it was weird, but, you know, a lot of things happened on Route 5 at that time.

Anyway, so then Nancy's... She hollers out, Steve, it's Linda on the phone. You seen Heidi? I saw her, but I said, about 11, quarter after 11, she ran by. She was going for a run. She said, well, she's supposed to be to work at 1. And I thought, of course, I didn't think anything about it at that time. And now it's, what, 3 o'clock, and she never showed up for work. So it's about 3 now.

And she said, well... She usually runs up the gully, which runs up behind his house, brings you where we're going to go. And I'll show you the gully when we come back through.

There's a wall full of it right here. See, that's a metal wall. This is where they thought a lot of drug deals went down. Oh, was it a... The interstate's right there. Okay. And you come right down. We can get out if you want. Sure, yeah. Down here, this used to be an old mill, so there was a wall and all. You go down that bank and there's light tunnels that go through there.

And it started pouring. I mean, it really started pouring. Then we saw the headlights pull up in that field. Of course, it wasn't as thick then. So we ran, everybody ran into the woods. We didn't know maybe they were coming. We thought maybe they were trying to come pick up the body. So that was what we thought. So we went running to it, and it turned out it was the cops.

We weren't very far from where they found her. Probably 25 feet. 25 feet? Yeah, so we were that close.
