So I'll tell you a bit of my story. I first actually studied to be a midwife, which is vastly different from what I'm doing now. But in that space, I've worked really closely alongside refugees and young mothers. Some of these mothers were as young as 13, 14 years old. And in these spaces, yeah, I know. Wow. In these spaces, these women were needing more than just medical care.
They were needing someone to, you know, hold their hand and listen to their stories. And in those spaces, that was where I was hearing these stories of women saying, I'm having to make these impossible choices at the grocery shop. I'm having to choose between baby formula for my newborn or period products for myself. And I was absolutely heartbroken.
I couldn't believe, like, I have to acknowledge my privilege here. I've never personally experienced period poverty, but... I couldn't believe that this was still happening in 2025. So it really lit a fire in me to create change. And I went and did some more research into it. And that was when I found this horrific statistic that two in three women in Australia struggle to afford period products.
64% actually can't afford them at all. So yeah, we built a unique new business model and that is making period products free by putting advertising on the packaging. So we put advertising on the product packaging and also on
digital dispensers that are going to be in public and commercial bathrooms all across Australia I just think that is just so smart like thank you so incredible like props to you for doing that that's amazing it's so wonderful that like you're helping the community like this thank you yeah I think it's an inspiration something needs to be done definitely and thank you very much but yeah I'm just I'm just doing what I think needs to be done in the world that's all
if you're like a brand or you're someone that works within a company that spends money on advertising mention it to someone in the hierarchy that can be an option if you don't know anyone in brands then definitely just follow our instagram out or our tiktok our account is at on the house group um on both instagram and tiktok but
Yeah, it's really just spreading the word and really everyone rallying around a problem because in history that's all that's changed, you know, was able to get women to vote. It's what was able for women to be able to, you know, have jobs while they were married is people rallying around a problem. So that's probably my only call. Wow, that's incredible. Thank you. You're amazing, really.
Thanks, Kayla. Thank you. And stay in touch. We can maybe do something down the line. Absolutely. I'd love that. Sounds amazing.
