People are desperate and they want to know what our secret is. I always say like we're at such an advantage because the program started right when rats arrived to our boundary. We prevented them from spreading into the province and establishing. So for me to comment on populations now that do exist, you know, it's hard for me to really give advice.

So I'm in charge of overseeing the program, which is provincial-wide. I coordinate response to rat reports, rat infestations, if we have them. I work with people who are part of the rat patrol at the Alberta-Saskatchewan border. They check animals. along the border twice a year, and they report back to me if they do find rats at all.
