Anne-Marie, police have what's known as its qualified immunity. And long story short, that sets a really high bar to convict police. You need to show an action. And in a situation like that, it almost comes down to having a text message where a police officer is saying, we're friends with Chris. Let's not arrest him. Obviously, that did not exist.

When we spoke with Wendy, there was still this tremendous sense of guilt for not being there to do more to protect. She said that she was really struggling to live with that guilt. Though she did say the one thing that she was proud of was that until the very end, Angela fought and fought, and she did not give up.
