John, who did you choose? Guess. Guess. Mael.

I chose Mael as well. And I went back and replayed it and got Verso's ending as well, and I felt like I played the ending first that I wanted. You know, I... Man, there are two. Well, it is hard, but I knew I knew at that point kind of what the what the end result of either was going to be.

One is if you side with Verso and the family has to come to terms with the fact that he's dead and they escape the painting and they try to patch up their tattered family. But the idea of Mael continuing the delusion was a much more appealing and sort of sadly poetic kind of situation for me. And there are two sounds in this game that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Number one is Renoir's cane. And number two is that very last beat of... where you get to look into Myles' eyes, and she has the paintress covering on her eyes with that discordant piano chord. Dude, when it happened, I literally felt my stomach drop like I was on a roller coaster or something. I was like... Bravo! You have done it. This is one of the best endings I've ever seen in a game ever.

It was so good, man. So, so good.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. So Verso ends the painting. He has this point where he reconciles with the boy, you know, the boy without the face that you see throughout the thing. And he just kind of just says, you know, it's time to go. You know, it's time to go. It's time to end this. And he gommages out. And then it cuts to a scene where they are burying his memory, basically.
