It’s July 26th. You’re listening to the President’s Daily Brief. Your morning intel starts now. ------ First, Joe Biden confirmed yesterday that he’s going to talk to China’s leadership this week, chatting about Taiwan, the economy and the climate. So this morning we’re going to dive into their climate conversation — and that China’s actually building more coal plants because they don’t have faith in renewables. We’ll discuss.  As always, I’m keeping an eye out for developing stories. Put these two on your radar. First, the Natural Gas Wars took another nasty turn yesterday. Russia’s cutting their supply to Europe by half, starting tomorrow. I’m going to explain the game that Moscow is playing. Second, by now you’ve seen the headlines: Monkeypox is a global health emergency. I’m going to remind us that the big development here is not in the United States, but in the Congo, where something very strange is happening.  And finally, a comment from Jack in Indianapolis about Afghanistan, al-Qa’ida, and how he does not want us to go back — no matter what.
