In verses 6-7, he says, Godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world and we cannot take anything out of the world. He reminds us that being godly and content is the best setup imaginable. which should also serve to remind us that our obedience to God, any level of obedience we might have, it's not a claim ticket for our desires.
