Timothy was a fellow journeyman, fellow apostle, essentially kind of an understudy, maybe a mentee or a disciple of Paul. Paul was the disciple or Paul was the mentor. And so Paul sent Timothy to Ephesus to correct some things that were going on. There were some wrong teachings. And that's what he addresses right away in the first letter of Paul to Timothy.
