24.
We're almost at 25. I was going to make a 25 joke, but I didn't want to force it. I know. We're just going to get right into it because I'm ready to tell these stories. Oh yeah, I'm ready. Our tea is a repeat. It's Republic of Tea Mold Apple Spice.
Like an apple cider. And I've got my Valentine's mug for February. I know, I'm upset. I'm sorry. I got Macy one and she didn't bring hers. Next week, for sure. And if anybody is wondering, TJ Maxx. Let's go. Tastes like fall or autumn.
Really good. Also, I was going to say, everyone's been asking about my book mug. Madly got it for me. Also from TJ Maxx. So, it may or may not be there.
No, they really have some cute mugs. I go just about every couple weeks. Just to look? Mhm. And they've always got something cute.

Chapter 2: How does astral projection relate to ghost sightings?
I never thought about the astral projection thing. Is that a thing where you like physically manifest into the world? I don't know. It's possible, I guess. Anything's possible. We need to talk about that.

Chapter 3: What can prevent sleep paralysis?
astral projection yeah okay if anybody cares but you were very ambivalent about it before when i said something so i just kind of pushed it to the back but i'll bring it back now that that is has been brought to my attention i would like to add that to the list because i was just gonna be like oh mimic but that adds a whole extra thing that i never could would have considered
Yeah, I mean, if they're awake in another room, then I'm sure it's not astral projection, but him being passed out asleep? Maybe. Very, very interesting. The veil is just too thin. I need to think about this. See it? Okay, you ponder. Our next story comes from Haley. Hello, I just found your guys' YouTube channel and I'm obsessed.
I have so many ghost stories and I find this one was the scariest encounter by far. I've always been spirit sensitive. It runs in my family being my brother is a famous medium in New York. Back in 2017, I lived with my ex-boyfriend and I remember him telling me that his house was haunted. I didn't believe it at first till things started happening.
I got really sick with bronchitis once and one night we went to bed and I started having sleep paralysis. Mind you, I've never had it before till I started living with him. And to this day, I still have it. I found sleeping with salt water next to you prevents it though. And it truly does work. So if you're ever afraid, just salt water. Put a cup of salt water beside your bed. Why? I wonder why.
I don't know. Salt is protective. People use salt to protect themselves from evil. Evil spirits and stuff like that.
But after our sleep paralysis episode, do we believe that it is... always something evil?
I don't know. I'm not 100% sure. Of course, like the skeptical side of me and the science-y side of me is very much so. It's just something our brain does. But there is a big part of me who says, why is it only happening to people when they move into haunted houses and it never happens again when they move out? And it didn't happen before. So, I don't know. Ghosts.
Anyways, I woke up to hearing something digging on the bed fast. My first thought was our dog Princess, but she was in her kennel in the other room, and when I tried to move, I couldn't. I kept hearing the digging coming from on the bed. I then started feeling myself being pulled down off the bed. I tried grabbing onto my boyfriend and screaming, but I couldn't do either.
I just felt my whole body being dragged down the bed by my legs. Finally, I was able to officially wake up, and I screamed and cried for an hour, scaring the daylights out of my ex.

Chapter 4: How do cultural beliefs influence ghost stories?
I've always been afraid of child spirits. Yes. We've talked about this. But since the last episode, where she got down and was playing Barbies with the little girl, it's like, this is what I'm going to do to you. I'm not going to lie, I've been thinking about that one a lot. I've been trying not to. I'm sorry to have brought it back up. Thank you. Our next one comes from Tanmay.
Skippen. Wir gehen weiter. He was a very shy guy, did not have any friends except me and the purest soul ever. Some might say too good for the world. One Sunday afternoon he was playing on his balcony while his parents were having their tea and out of nowhere his entire balcony collapsed. He lived on the third floor.
His parents survived the fall somehow and suffered severe injuries, but my poor friend, a seven-year-old kid, did not make it. All of this we came to know the next day, Monday, during morning school announcements when they told us what happened. I was devastated because the entire time that day I was wondering why he had not shown up for school that day.
I was so young, I had no idea how to react to such news apart from crying. I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry. In the following weeks and months, I started to feel some kind of presence around me. It felt like anywhere I went, someone around the corner was watching me. But it didn't feel threatening. In fact, it felt like a kind presence. It was without a shadow of a doubt, him.
Sometimes I would feel a touch on my neck in an empty room and when I turned around, there he was. A very blurry shadow of his body, but an unmistakable kind aura. It used to freak me out and I did not want to acknowledge it, so I kept telling myself that I am just making up stuff in my head, but it kept happening to me for the next few months.

Chapter 5: What are some real-life ghost encounters shared by listeners?
I'm getting a little teary-eyed, I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, that one, that one kinda hit hard. That was a sad one, but thank you so much for sharing that. Love that we can be a place to share those stories, but, and we'll all remember your friend for you.
oh wow i'm gonna cry was the woman like you know like a carnival psychic but like a real one like she had actual gifts do you know i have a strange fear of carnivals do you i do just the like the traveling ones not a permanent i have a fear amusement park of the crime aspect of like Yeah. They could just commit anything and move on, roll on to the next scene, you know?
I want to bring up Pretty Little Liars, but I don't want to. Oh my gosh, I won't understand it. It's been so long.
You don't remember, I think they had some kind of dance or prom where there was a woman reading cards and stuff. No, I don't remember. Well, that's what I envision now when I think of carnival psychics and things. It's Pretty Little Liars. Yes, everything goes back to that. Yeah, I think we're just trying to make light of us being sad now.
Yeah, it worked a little bit. Let's move on. Our next one comes from Summer. Hi guys, I'm a new listener and I've been binging all of your content. So just the other day I watched the episode on black-eyed children, which thoroughly creeped me out. Well, my boyfriend has two twin brothers that are eight and we have them over for sleepovers quite frequently.
This last weekend, during one of those sleepovers, one of his brothers started losing his mind over something he swears he saw in our front room. It was late at night and his brother started calling my name and crying out to me.
He wanted to go get something from our front room but stopped right at the edge of the room where the light stopped and he stood there in a panic telling me he saw eyes in the back left corner of the room. I didn't see it, but being a believer, I immediately believed him and started getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. He told me to crouch down to be his height and maybe I'd see it then.
Still didn't see it. My boyfriend came over to check and he didn't see it, but then the other twin walked over and started getting scared too, saying he also saw the eyes.

Chapter 6: How does fear manifest in conversations about the supernatural?
Honestly, I still don't know what to think, so I'd love to hear your thoughts. Love your podcast. All the best, Aisha. I'm sorry about your mother, first and foremost. Also, now I am afraid to drive home tonight.
That is truly one of the most terrifying images that has been described to us on this podcast. I agree. I am sick with fear. My whole body felt like I needed to curl up to the size of like a grape and then combust.
Yeah. Or implode.
