Eye On College Basketball

MaCio Teague returning to Baylor: Are the Bears the Big 12/national preseason favorites? (College Basketball 7/31)

Fri, 31 Jul 2020

Description

The NCAA’s deadline to withdraw from the 2020 NBA Draft isn’t until next week — but Baylor’s MaCio Teague went ahead and made a decision (1:20). He’ll be back at Baylor. And now, provided Jared Butler also withdraws from the draft, Scott Drew’s Bears look like they’ll be the preseason favorite in the Big 12. So Gary Parrish and Kyle Boone opened this episode of the Eye On College Basketball podcast by discussing Baylor (and the Big 12 in general) before reacting to news that conferences are largely turning toward league-only football schedules (18:30). What, if anything, does that mean for college basketball? And is it even possible to play college football and college basketball outside of a bubble given that Major League Baseball is hitting one bump after another? It’s a fair question to ask.
