Dan Lorenc got into tech in a roundabout way. Most of his time in school was dedicated to the study of Mechanical Engineering, building in the world of atoms in machine shops and with 3d printers. He learned how to program through Matlab, and he got hooked. He lives in Austin, enjoys taking in the live music scene, and likes to get outdoors - when it's not 108 degrees, like it was when we did this recording. While Dan was at Google, the well known Solarwinds attack happened, illustrating the gaps and holes in the software supply chain space. Given he had experience in this space, paired with the Biden Administration's executive order to secure this space, led Dan and his co-founders to give this startup a try. This is the creation story of Chainguard.SponsorsAirbyteDopplerHost.ioIPInfomablLinksWebsite: https://www.chainguard.dev/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/danlorenc/Our Sponsors:* Check out Vanta and use my code CODESTORY for a great deal: https://www.vanta.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/code-story/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
