I'll tell you, Paul, I'm conscious of the fact that Barry's in the studio and I certainly don't want to come across as being obsequious.
It's not my style, I should say from that.
I was absolutely mystified that Barry wasn't offered the Rangers job
during his short tenure last season at Ibrox, given that he had claimed two notable scalps, four points and six possible against Brendan Rodgers, and then eliminated Jose Mourinho, one of the world's greatest coaches in the history of football, in fact, when he was at Fenerbahce.
Therefore, I was astonished when Barry wasn't given the job
Fast forward, Russell Martin, enough said, he was out the door.
He's been replaced by Danny Roll.
And you know what, Paul?
I know that it's almost tantamount to heresy or sacrilege in this part of the country that we live in if you ever, as a Celtic fan, to see anything complimentary of a Rangers or vice versa if it's a Rangers fan that were to see anything complimentary of a Celtic
I'm going to break with tradition and convention.
I spoke on the programme some weeks ago and I'd said to Barry, and this is before Rangers had embarked on their lengthy one-on-one.
They lost to Celtic in the League Cup final.
Of course, they played most of that game with 10 men.
And I'd said to Barry at the time that this guy, Danny Rowe, has got his wits about him.
And I reckon that once he gets his feet under the table...
