Tonight, authorities say a man is dead after opening fire on children at an elementary school in Butte County, California. The calls to police coming around 1 p.m., authorities racing to the scene. At the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo, California, about 10 miles outside Oroville, officials say two students were shot and wounded, rushed to the hospital.

One of them had to be airlifted. Authorities finding the suspected shooter near the playground dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The small school of some 35 students put on lockdown. The children taken to a nearby church to reunite with their families.
